Filter by:BP-REACH is a study of a team-based (pharmacist and health coach) program for lowering blood pressure for people with a prior stroke or heart attack in the Los Angeles Department of Health Services public healthcare system. The goal of this clinical trial is to test if this team based program is better at helping people reduce their blood pressure than usual care for people with prior heart attack or stroke. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Do people in the REACH BP program have lower blood pressure at 12 months compared to those getting usual care? - Do people in the REACH BP program have better Life's Essential 8 scores and patient experience compared to those getting usual care?
The goal of this observational study is to learn about the acute (days) changes in right ventricular functions caused by initiation of pharmacological therapies in patients with precapillary pulmonary hypertension. The main question it aims to answer is: • Course of afterload and intrinsic contractility throughout the hospital stay Participants will be equipped with a device for continuous monitoring and recording of the right ventricular pressure signal.

However, it remains unknown how this is related to the choice of surgical tactics.

By the comparison of the preoperative and postoperative data of approximately 160 patients undergoing gastric sleeve surgery, we try to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of gastric sleeve surgery, expected complication rate.
The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to learn about the effect of a hydrotherapeutic approach - a temperature-elevating armbath - in people with arterial hypertention. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Can this kind of hydrotherapy lower the blood pressure and therefore be an additional approach to medical treatment in arterial hypertension? - Besides blood pressure regulation, does this intervention affect sleep quality when being performed at night time or does it affect overall quality of life? Participants will be advised to perform a temperature-elevating armbath once a day for 30 minutes on at least 5 days per week over 8 weeks. The comparison group will continue treatment as usual, like continue their medication. 24h blood pressure measurements will be performed at the beginning, after 8 weeks and after 6 months in both groups. The main goal is to evaluate whether the intervention group shows lower blood pressure levels after a certain time of treatment. After 6 months (end of trial) the control group will be offered to learn the temperature elevating armbath as well.
