External Nitric Oxide Measurement Through SNO Degradation

Start date: May 10, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In this study, we aim to explore the feasibility of a novel, noninvasive SNO assay to acquire physiological SNO quantification from the human ear, forehead, or hands and test this new method of analysis. This study aims to help with the currently cumbersome and invasive procedures used to measure SNOs in the body. The proposed activities do not unnecessarily duplicate previous experiments.

NCT ID: NCT04885959 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

The Effects of Traditional Asian Diet on Gut Microbiome and Metabolome in Healthy Volunteers and Pregnancy on Subsequent Infant's Allergy Development

Start date: September 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The research aims to elucidate a specially-designed personalized diet based on Traditional Asian Diet and its efficacy in increasing the gut colonization of Prevotella sp. and butyrate levels in pregnant mothers and the benefits in reducing infant's food allergy development.

NCT ID: NCT04836715 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

Prevalence of Visual Dysfunction in Neurological Disorders

Start date: January 10, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The objective is to determine the prevalence of visual dysfunction in People with Parkinson's Disease (PwP). The investigators will administer the: Visual Impairment in Parkinson's Disease Screen and Revised-Self-Report Assessment of Functional Visual Performance. Patients seen at Fixel Institute and their caregivers will be invited to participate. Responses to the 2 questionnaires will help determine prevalence rates of visual dysfunction in PwP compared to those both with and without other neurological conditions.

NCT ID: NCT04819932 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Amlodipine, olmesartan, total ezetimibe, rosuvastatin AUCt, Cmax

NCT ID: NCT04691518 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

Effect of Intermittent Hypoxia in Healthy Individuals

Start date: November 16, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The use of acute intermittent hypoxia (AIH) has been examined in animal and human studies to gain an understanding of its effect on spinal excitability and synaptic strength. Subsequently, the investigators have learned that the use of AIH results in new protein formation and spinal plasticity. The use of acute intermittent hypoxia demonstrates a potential for therapeutic utilization in individuals with neurologic injuries. However, little is known about the effect of AIH in healthy individuals. This work is necessary to understand the mechanisms of AIH-induced plasticity. As such, this research study seeks to evaluate the impact of a single session AIH on upper extremity motor function in healthy individuals.

NCT ID: NCT04688112 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

Validation Study of Selfie Technology for Assessment of Vital Signs

Start date: March 28, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to compare accuracy of DocMe, a video technology developed by DocMe Health Technologies, with previously validated medical devices used for measurements of heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate and blood pressure in adults.

NCT ID: NCT04643444 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

Police COVID-19 Serosurvey

PoliCOV
Start date: February 9, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The investigators aim to determine the immune status of the employees of the cantonal police of Bern against SARS-CoV-2 over a period of 1 year, and to investigate the risk profile of the study participants and their risk of SARS-CoV-2 exposure in their working and private environments, as well as to evaluate the use of personal protective equipment at potential exposure instances.
