Filter by:The purpose of this clinical trial is to compare a tablet and a capsule form of tafamidis without food and to assess the amount of tafamidis in blood after taking the tablet form with food. This study is seeking healthy participants over the age of 18. All participants in the study will receive either one tablet or capsule of study medicine on the first day without food, then receive one dose of the other tablet or capsule form 16 days later without food. All participants will then receive one dose of the tablet form with food 16 days later. We will evaluate the amounts in blood for 8 days after taking each dose of the study medicine. Participants will take part in this study for about 96 days. The first visit is a screening visit to ensure that participants are appropriate for the study. Up to 28 days later, eligible participants will visit the study clinic three times (and stay overnight in the clinical research center for 8 nights each time). The study team will also call participants over the phone 28 to 35 days after the last dose of medicine.
The purpose of this clinical trial is to learn about the safety and effects of study medicine PF-07264660 compared to a placebo. This is the first study of PF-07264660 in humans. All participants in this study will received PF-07264660 or a placebo and it will be assigned by chance. People may be able to participate if they are healthy. The study medicine may be given by shots under the skin or through a vein depending on which group you are assigned to. If you are assigned into Part A, you will receive the study medicine once, stay overnight at the research unit from 3 to 5 overnight stays and you will need to visit the clinic about 11 follow-up visits. Participants will be in this study for up to about 541 days. If you are assigned into Part B, you will receive the study medicine three times, stay overnight at the clinic from 3 to 5 overnight stays and you will need to visit the research unit about 12 follow-up visits. Participants willbe in this study for up to about 561 days.
The aim of this study is to investigation of biopsychosocial characteristics of individuals who do pilates and sedentary individuals during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was carried out with 2 groups: individuals ages 20-50,participating in a pilates program for 8 weeks (n:27) and sedentary individuals (n:27). Before starting this study, the groups were assessed for biopsychosocial status with the Cognitive Exercise Therapy Approach- Biopsychosocial Questionnaire (CETA-BQ) , for depression levels with the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), for covid-19 fear levels with the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale, for their sleep quality with the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), quality of life was assessed with the Nottingham Health Profile (NHP). After the first evaluation, an informative presentation emphasizing the importance of physical activity during the pandemic process was given to all participants. Individuals in the exercise group also participated in pilates sessions that lasted 50 minutes, 2 days a week for 8 weeks. At the end of 8 weeks, all questionnaires were repeated for both groups.
Background: Salivary diagnosis is an emerging field; the potentially valuable biofluid contains many molecules of the systemic circulation. Still, its profile in health has been scarcely investigated. Aim: This study aimed to characterize the inflammatory profile of healthy children's saliva, and to associate the parameters with clinical diagnoses of caries and gingival inflammation. Study design: Unstimulated saliva was collected from 100 children who underwent clinical dental examinations. The saliva samples were analysed for total protein, specific cytokines (IL-10, IL-8, IL-6 and TNF- α) and bacteria using Bradford assay, ELISA and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction, respectively. Salivary values were analysed according to age, plaque index (PI) and gingival index (GI).

Many teenagers are familiar with this: on school days, they have to get up early; during the day, they hardly get any light exposure; in the evening, they go to bed late - and are then tired at school the next day! Around the world, teenagers are sleep deprived, with studies suggesting that almost half (~45%) suffer from inadequate sleep. Previous investigations have shown that people's sleep-wake rhythm is related to the light conditions that they are exposed to during the day and at night. However, little is known about how different light levels in the afternoon can modulate teenagers' sleep and their bodily responses to light in the late evening. Therefore, the investigators aim to study which lighting conditions have a favourable effect on these aspects and how the potentially harmful effects of light at night can be prevented.
