Intestinal Microbiota: Immunity, Recovery and Metabolic Health

VAR-MIKRO
Start date: January 9, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this intervention study is to investigate the effect of a specific postbiotic (Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus GG = LGG) and whey protein on immunity, recovery, and weight management in young adults. Acute Effects of Heat, Cold and Stretching on Knee Proprioception and Vertical Jump

Start date: November 2, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of our study is to investigate the effects of heat, cold and stretching on knee proprioception and vertical jump. 60 healthy individuals were randomized into hot, cold, stretching and control groups of 15 each. Pre-test and post-test measurements were made immediately after the application. Knee proprioception was measured with a digital goniometer using the EPD (joint position sense) test. Vertical jump heights were measured with contact mat by countermovement (CMJ) and squat splash (SQS) tests.

NCT ID: NCT06342596 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

A Study of Carbon-14-Labelled [14C] LY3473329 in Healthy Male Participants

Start date: March 5, 2024
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate how much of the study drug (LY3473329), administered as a single dose that has the radioactive substance 14C incorporated into it, passes from blood into urine, feces and expired air in healthy male participants. The study will also measure how much of the study drug gets into the bloodstream when taken orally, compared to when injected directly into the vein, how its broken down, and how long it takes the body to get rid of it. The study is conducted in two parts. The study will last up to approximately 9 and 7 weeks for part 1 and 2, respectively.

NCT ID: NCT06333977 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Start date: March 25, 2022
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

to assess the safety, tolerability, Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics in healthy subjects and subjects with type 2 diabetes (T2DM).

NCT ID: NCT06325930 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

A Study to Investigate the Absorption, Metabolism, and Excretion of [14C]-HU6

Start date: March 26, 2024
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This is a single-center, non-randomized, open-label Phase 1 study to characterize the absorption, metabolism, excretion, mass balance, pharmacokinetics (PK), safety and tolerability of HU6 following administration of a single dose of [14C]-HU6 in a fed state with a standard meal administered approximately 15 minutes prior to dosing.

NCT ID: NCT06319092 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Immersive Virtual Reality Version of the 6 Minute Pegboard and Ring Test

Start date: June 1, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The 6 Minute Pegboard and Ring Test is a test applicable to the upper extremities. The upper extremity plays an important role in activities of daily living, especially in tasks related to reaching, grasping and holding objects. Various activities of daily living, such as combing hair, brushing teeth and picking up objects, require supported or unsupported upper limb activity. Therefore, evaluation of upper extremity function is important. In addition, it is a simple test, it is also seen as a game, its application is functional, and there is no need for expensive equipment. Its validity and reliability have been demonstrated only for patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and healthy adults. In addition, to the best of our knowledge, the suitability of this test in a virtual environment has not been evaluated in the literature. Therefore, the main aim of this study is to examine the applicability of this test in a virtual environment.

Non-technical Skills of Clinical Simulation in Physiotherapy Students

Start date: February 26, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Clinical simulation has gained great importance in recent times in health sciences. Since it is a pedagogical strategy that is being used more and more in health degrees and is very useful for the acquisition of both technical and non-technical skills. However, if we focus on physiotherapy, the use of clinical simulation is a very new field and therefore requires great research. The investigators still do not have the consistency or experience as in other health branches such as medicine or nursing, in which they have been using simulators for years for the learning of all their students. For all this, and for the situation of need generated in recent years, in which internships in hospitals and clinical centers were completely abolished, the need for our research is justified, which will allow the acquisition of non-technical skills among novice students. in physiotherapy, without the need for contact with real patients.

Changes in Microbiota in Healthy Subjects Before and After Meditation Practices in a Controlled Environment

Start date: July 2, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of the study is to evaluate the Changes in Microbiota Markers in Healthy Subjects Before, During and After Meditation Practices in a Controlled Environment. This study provides a unique opportunity to test the hypotheses that (1) Arhatic Yoga practices will affect both oral and gut microbiome; (2) the oral and gut microbiome will shift dynamically in a short period; and (3) the overall shift resulting from the changes in the gut microbiome members will be associated with known benefits to health and well-being.

Bioavailability of Curcuminoids From Turmipure Gold® in Different Food Matrices

Start date: September 14, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about the extent to which turmeric compounds in different food matrices becomes available to the body in healthy volunteers. The main question it aims to answer is: - Is the availability to the body of a turmeric dietary supplement altered when consumed in fruit nectar, oat milk, yogurt drink, or gummies in comparison to a dietary supplement capsule? Participants will ingest a turmeric dietary supplement as a capsule or in different food matrices on six testing days (separated by at least one week). The day before testing day, a standardized dinner will be provided to the participants in the evening and participants will be instructed to not consume any foods or beverages (except water) and to arrive fasted (12 hours) at the investigation site. Participants will ingest turmeric dietary supplement formulations one by one in random order in the morning of testing days. Regular blood and urine samples will be collected before and up to 24 hours after the turmeric dietary supplement ingestion. Standardized meals will be provided during the entire testing day (lunch, mid-afternoon snack, dinner).
