NCT ID: NCT00482339 Not yet recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

PCR-Based Detection of Bacterial Agents in Platelet Concentrates and Whole Blood

Start date: June 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Using methods of molecular biology bacteria can be detected in blood. In comparison to conventional blood cultures "bacterial DNA" is isolated using a new sample preparation system in platelet apheresis concentrates and in the predonation whole blood of donors.

NCT ID: NCT00437788 Not yet recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

The Effect of a Digital Photograph of the Patient in a CT Scan Examination on the Quality of Diagnosis by the Radiologist

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 0
Study type: Observational

Whenever a scan is accessed through the PACS system a scanned document or digital picture may be displayed automatically. In this study the technician will take a digital picture of the patient who will be undergoing the CT scan. This way the radiologist will be able to view the patient's face before viewing the scan. The hypothesis is that viewing a digital picture of the patient before viewing the CT scan will improve the quality of diagnosis.

NCT ID: NCT00416286 Not yet recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Effect of Sustained-Release Cetylpyridinium Chloride Varnish on Streptococcus Mutans and Lactobacillus in Orthodontic Patients

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Observational

The purpose of the study is to was to evaluate the anti bacterial efficacy of sustain-release Cetylpyridinium chloride varnish on orthodontic patients.

NCT ID: NCT00409162 Not yet recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Safety and Efficacy Study of a New Device for Tattoo Removal

Start date: December 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A new mechanical device is evaluated for tattoo removal, comparing two types of needle washing fluids. 30 healthy subjects with tattoos will be treated. The study hypothesis is that the device can be used to achieve satisfactory tattoo removal.

NCT ID: NCT00408941 Not yet recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

EEG and Auditory Evoked Potentials During Local Anesthesia

Start date: December 2006
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the present study was to investigate the sensitivity of AEP (auditory evoked potentials) to muscular artefacts using sedation and local anesthesia.

NCT ID: NCT00176020 Not yet recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Nicotinic Acid - Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics, Receptor Expression

Start date: n/a
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The study will be a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, single-center, 2 treatment, 3-way crossover. Subjects will be randomly allocated to a treatment sequence – AAB, ABA or BAA. The two treatments will be: - Treatment A: 500 mg nicotinic acid (Niacor(R)) - Treatment B: Niacor(R) Placebo Each trial period will last one day, there will be a wash-out period of at least 2 days between each trial period. Five to seven days after study day 1 of trial period 3 there will be a final safety examination.
