NCT ID: NCT00543322 Terminated - Healthy Clinical Trials

PET Study of the Nicotinic Receptors in Human

Start date: July 2001
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to quantify the brain distribution of the nicotinic receptors in human volunteers and their alterations in patients suffering from neurological diseases such as Parkinson and Alzheimer diseases and familial epilepsy. This will be done using Postron Emission Tomography (PET) and a new radiotracer of the nicotinic receptors.

NCT ID: NCT00532636 Terminated - Healthy Clinical Trials

Head Position Angles in Children

Start date: January 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Inexperienced rescuers may encounter severe problems in an unconscious patient in opening and maintaining an upper airway patent. Designing a ventilating device that could indicate how to open an upper airway correctly may be beneficial. The head of children is randomly placed in different head positions by one investigator. A ventilating mask is then pressed gently on the child's face followed by measurement of the head position angles and pulmonary function. This information could be utilised to optimise assisted ventilation of an unprotected upper airway in children.

NCT ID: NCT00527644 Terminated - Healthy Clinical Trials

Clinical Evaluation of Spring-Type Laparoscopic Clip Technology

Start date: July 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The Visu-Loc spring clip is being used to occlude the cystic duct at the time of laparoscopic cholecystectomy. A hepato-iminodiacetic acid (HIDA) scan will be completed on post operative day one to check for biliary leaks.

NCT ID: NCT00509756 Terminated - Healthy Clinical Trials

Study Evaluating FXR-450 in Healthy Japanese Men

Start date: November 2007
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of a single dose of FXR-450 in healthy Japanese men.

NCT ID: NCT00508651 Terminated - Healthy Clinical Trials

A Phase 1/2A Study to Evaluate the Safety, Immunogenicity, and Shedding of MEDI-560 in Infants 1 to < 12 Months of Age

Start date: October 2007
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this study is to describe the safety and tolerability of 3 doses of MEDI-560 at 10^5 TCID50 when administered to children 6 to < 12 months of age who are HPIV3 (human parainfluenza virus type 3) seronegative at baseline and to infants 1 to < 3 months of age regardless of baseline serostatus.

NCT ID: NCT00504894 Terminated - Healthy Clinical Trials

Neuroimaging the Effects of Intravenous Anesthetic on Amygdala Dependent Memory Processes

Amygdala
Start date: March 2007
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study involves 60 healthy volunteers aged between 18 and 50 recruited from the general community. It involves doing a set of simple memory tests while inside a fMRI machine. The subject is given a very low dose of an anesthetic drug intravenously while in the scanner. The subject then sees a sequence of pictures on a screen, and presses a button if they remember seeing the picture before. While this is happening, the scanner will be capturing images that tell us what parts of the brain are active. Hypothesis: patterns of hippocampal and amygdala activation during the encoding and retrieval of memory,as measured by fMRI, will be altered by intravenous anesthetics such that suppression of hippocampal and amygdala activities will be dissociable. This dissociation pattern will be different between the drugs propofol and thiopental.

NCT ID: NCT00496171 Terminated - Healthy Clinical Trials

Phase I Study of HAL Formulations Applied to the Cervix in Healthy Volunteers

Start date: n/a
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The purpose of the study is to determine the most effective formulation of HAL for release of hexaminolevulinate to the cervical epithelium at different doses.

NCT ID: NCT00487903 Terminated - Healthy Clinical Trials

Evaluation and Optimization of PB127 Myocardial Perfusion Echocardiography on Ultrasound Systems

Start date: September 2007
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this clinical trial is to evaluate various commercially available ultrasound systems and to identify imaging parameters to be used with these systems (along with the contrast agent PB127) as well as to further evaluate the safety of PB127.

NCT ID: NCT00480948 Terminated - Healthy Clinical Trials

Effects of InFatâ„¢ Product on Stool Biochemistry and Stool Characteristics in Formula-fed Term Chinese Infants

Start date: September 2008
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the efficacy of infant formula having proportion of palmitate in the sn-2 position comparable to human milk in Chinese term infants.

NCT ID: NCT00480103 Terminated - Healthy Clinical Trials

Intrauterine Embryo Development With ANECOVA Device

ANECOVA
Start date: August 2007
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

We aim to compare the morphological and chromosomal features of human embryos cultured In Vitro versus those developed in a new In Vivo culture system with encapsulation in utero as well as implantation and pregnancy rate.
