NCT ID: NCT06094907 Completed - Depressive Disorder Clinical Trials

Safety, Tolerability and Antidepressant Effects of DMT in Patients With Depression

Start date: October 9, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to evaluate the acute and subacute effects of an inhaled N, N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) in patients with partial response in depression.

NCT ID: NCT06072209 Completed - Depression Moderate Clinical Trials

Long-term Effects ReSet Your Mind - Mechanisms

Start date: May 30, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

See: ClinicalTrials.gov ID: NCT05402150 Relevant for this Paper: This investigation aims to evaluate the stability of the effectiveness of different two-week online interventions in a four months follow-up regarding reward sensitivity, anhedonia and depression. The authors will further investigate factors influencing treatment success regarding reward sensitivity. The investigators assume that the more depressive expectations and stress improve during our online intervention, the more change in reward insensitivity is experienced at follow-up. In addition, it is hypothesized that the more people engaged in physical activities and social encounters during the two-week online intervention, the more change in reward insensitivity is experienced at follow-up.

NCT ID: NCT06070805 Completed - Clinical trials for Cardio-cerebral Vascular Events

Impact and Mechanism of Depression on Cardio-cerebral Vascular Events and Arteriovenous Fistula Dysfunction in MHD Patients

Start date: February 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Depression is a common psychiatric disorder in patients on maintenance hemodialysis (MHD). It may contribute to poor prognosis in a number of ways, including its effect on platelet function. We aimed to investigate the impact and underlying mechanisms of depression on the occurrence of cardio-cerebral vascular events (CCVE) and dysfunction of arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) in MHD patients. In this study, MHD patients were recruited and divided into depression and non-depression groups using the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) in this prospective cohort study. Their clinical and laboratory indicators were collected and the occurrence of CCVE and DAVF were recorded through clinical follow-up, and analyzed, and the differences and possible influencing factors of CCVE and DAVF occurrence were assessed between the two groups of patients.

NCT ID: NCT06070168 Completed - Clinical trials for Depression, Postpartum

Determining the Effect of Telephone Counseling Service Provided to Primiparous Mothers on Postpartum Depression

Start date: October 7, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of telephone counseling services provided to primiparous mothers on postpartum depression. Hypotheses H01; there is no difference between the postpartum depression score of the telephone counseling services group and the postpartum depression score of the control group. The study will be carried out in two different groups. The practice will start with meeting the women who give birth will be visited by the researcher at the postpartum clinic at least 6 hours after normal birth and 12 hours after cesarean births. After the women are evaluated in terms of eligibility criteria for the research, the women who are eligible will be informed about the research and written informed consent will be obtained from the women who accept. The random distribution of women to the study groups will be carried out using the Block Randomization method. The following applications will be made to the groups. The researcher will contact the experimental group by phone. He will introduce herself and 6 weeks (during postpartum). It will provide the mother with the consultancy service she needs about herself and the newborn 24 hours a day. After 6 weeks, the training will end and the third researcher will make post-tests of the depression scale to both groups without knowing the experimental and control groups.

NCT ID: NCT06064474 Completed - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Effects of High Ventilation Breathwork With Retention (HVBR) on Health

Start date: October 13, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators are conducting a randomised-controlled trial comparing high ventilation breathwork with retention (HVBR) to a breathwork placebo (paced breathing at 15breaths/min with brief retentions). The metric of 15b/min aligns with guidance from the British Journal of Nursing, Royal College of Physicians and Johns Hopkins Medicine which state that the average, healthy rate should range from: 12-20, 12-18 and 12-16b/min, respectively. The main questions the study attempts to address are: Does HVBR lead to improved state and trait mental health and wellbeing in a general population adult sample? The study will be conducted entirely online through the research platform Prolific, so participant data will be anonymous. The investigators will collect self-reports of mental health and wellbeing before and after the three-week breathwork period, in addition to a follow-up three weeks later. Pre-post intervention and follow-up questionnaires will be completed online via the survey platform Qualtrics which will be linked to Prolific. Data on self-reported adherence to, and credibility/expectancy of, the breathwork will also be collected, along with participants' experiences to gauge the safety and tolerability of the breathwork protocol.

NCT ID: NCT06062472 Completed - Depression Clinical Trials

Effect of Lactobacillus Paracasei PS23 on Improving Aging and Muscle Loss in the Elderly

Start date: August 8, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study refers to the supplementation of PS23 in human experiments to help the elderly maintain muscle mass, delay muscle loss, promote physical activity, and delay the occurrence of disability and debilitation in elderly people.

NCT ID: NCT06057012 Completed - Clinical trials for Severe Postpartum Depression

A Study of BRII-296 in Adults With Severe Postpartum Depression (PPD)

Start date: September 29, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of BRII-296 administered by 2 intramuscular injections, administered with Depo Medrol as assessed by the incidence of adverse events, changes from baseline in vital signs, pulse oximetry, clinical laboratory evaluations, electrocardiograms (ECGs), Stanford Sleepiness Scale (SSS), Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) in conjunction with clinical assessment, and suicidal ideation using the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS).

NCT ID: NCT06045078 Completed - Depression Clinical Trials

Aromatherapy in Total Knee Replacement

Start date: October 3, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this pilot randomized controlled trial is to investigate the effects of aromatherapy on postoperative anxiety and pain in total knee replacement patients. The main questions to answer are: Does Lavender-Peppermint Aromatherapy reduce post operative anxiety in patients after primary total knee replacement when compared to placebo? Does Lavender-Peppermint Aromatherapy reduce post operative pain in patient after primary total knee replacement when compared to placebo? Does Lavender-Peppermint Aromatherapy reduce postoperative opioid consumption after primary total knee replacement when compared to placebo? Does Lavender-Peppermint Aromatherapy reduce postoperative nausea and vomiting after primary total knee replacement when compared to placebo? Participants will be assigned to one of the following groups at random: - Intervention: Aromatherapy with the lavender-peppermint scent - Control: Aromatherapy with the almond oil scent Participants will also be asked to complete pre- and post-operative questionnaires. Researchers will compare both groups (intervention vs control) to see if aromatherapy reduces post-operative anxiety, pain, opioid intake, and nausea/vomiting.

Listening Music, Drawing on Coping With Dysmenorrhea Complaints of Nursing Students

Start date: July 20, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Objectives: Investigating the effects of listening to music and drawing on nursing students with dysmenorrhea on dysmenorrhea complaints is a new and promising area of research. However, high-level evidence on whether listening to music and drawing has an effect on dysmenorrhea complaints is insufficient. The current study addresses this research question.. Design: A three-arm randomized controlled trial was conducted in 96 nursing students with dysmenorrhea.
