NCT ID: NCT05518968 Withdrawn - Depression Clinical Trials

Videoconferencing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy With a Web App Use for Family Caregivers of People With Dementia

Start date: January 1, 2025
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the pilot study is to assess the effects of an 8-week program on improving mental health in depressed family caregivers of people with dementia. The program will involve 8 weekly coach-guided videoconferencing sessions and the use of a web app based on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) for 8 weeks. Also, the study aims to understand these caregivers' experiences in the program, including their perspectives on the app features and contents. We aim to recruit 8-10 people for this pilot project. Outcomes regarding caregivers' mental health and ACT processes will be collected at pretest and posttest (after the completion of the 8-week program) and compared over time (i.e., posttest scores compared to pretest). At posttest, acceptability and perceived usability of the app will be evaluated using the 10-item System Usability Scale and 30-40 minute individual interviews.

NCT ID: NCT05507385 Withdrawn - Depression Clinical Trials

Imagine a Brighter Future: An Intervention to Improve Positive Emotions in Young People

IMAGINE-P
Start date: September 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Depression is a common mental health problem that often begins during adolescence. Onset during adolescence can be disruptive to schoolwork and social relationships and if left untreated can lead to recurrence during adulthood, as well as the development of other mental health problems. Current treatments for depression (for both adults and young people) largely focus on reducing low mood and do not effectively tackle the other hallmark symptom of depression, anhedonia, which is characterised as a loss of enjoyment/ pleasure for previously enjoyed activities. Anhedonia is associated with increased risk of suicidality, so should be an important treatment target. Whilst some adult treatments are beginning to address anhedonia, little research has focussed on young people. It cannot be assumed that adult treatments will work identically in young people, particularly s their brains are still maturing compared to adults. The aim of this study is to complete a randomised feasibility trial, to see if it is possible to run a brief talking therapy for anhedonia in adolescent depression, by targeting one promising cognitive factor known to contribute to low positive affect: positive future mental imagery

NCT ID: NCT05504486 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)

NCT ID: NCT05482672 Withdrawn - Depression Clinical Trials

GetHealthy-OA: A Program to Improve Pain and Function for Patients With Knee Osteoarthritis, Obesity, and Depression

Start date: April 2023
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The investigators have previously identified knee osteoarthritis patients with the combination of depression and an unhealthy weight may be an increased risk of more rapid joint degeneration and worsening pain. The GetHealthy-OA program combines a mind-body program with the oral supplement fisetin to potentially reduce the risk for this population by treating psychosocial, mechanical, and inflammatory mechanisms of knee osteoarthritis. This randomized clinical trial will compare the GetHealthy-OA program to minimally-enhanced usual care plus an oral placebo.

ZYL-730-02
Start date: January 15, 2023
Phase: Phase 2

NCT ID: NCT05395039 Withdrawn - Depression Clinical Trials

Virtual Communication in the Hospital: Impact on Patients and Surrogates

VCHIPS
Start date: April 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a pilot study of scheduled video/audio conferences by clinical navigators on the experience of surrogate decision makers for hospitalized older adults with Alzheimer's disease (AD), delirium, and other causes of cognitive impairment. The purpose of this study is to learn more about the experiences of surrogate decision makers of hospitalized older adults when they cannot be physically present with the patient in the hospital. We will conduct a randomized pilot study of virtual visits to connect the surrogate decision makers of incapacitated, hospitalized older adults with AD, delirium, and related causes of cognitive impairment with the patient and clinicians.
