Several methods for closure of trocar wounds are known in laparoscopic surgery including mostly transcutaneous or subcuticular suture or adhesive paper tape. Studies comparing laparoscopic incision closure in bariatric population are limited .This is a prospective study that will be conducted in a single tertiary medical center. s obese population comprise most of our surgical candidates, and due to the aforementioned, the aim of our study is to compare the outcomes of both techniques in obese women.

Effects of Two Virtual HIFCT Programs in Adults With Abdominal Obesity

It is estimated that by 2030 one in five women and one in seven men will be obese, equivalent to more than 1 billion people around the world. It should be noted that the largest number of people with obesity live in countries with low and moderate-income. In 2019, more than 160 million years of healthy life were lost in the world, due to a high body mass index (BMI), this represents more than 20% of all years of healthy life lost due to chronic diseases. Therefore, it is essential to stop the increase in obesity and reduce it at all ages, which demands comprehensive actions at the global level. Scientific evidence suggests that people with a normal BMI, but with abdominal obesity, have a higher mortality risk compared to those with a similar or even higher BMI. In addition, visceral adiposity has been associated with worse survival and with colorectal cancer. Several methods of physical exercise have been used to counteract the adverse effects of obesity, including high-intensity functional circuit training (HIFCT). Scientific evidence indicates that HIFCT reduces fat mass, body mass, BMI, and waist circumference and improves muscle strength, maximal oxygen uptake, and health-related quality of life in overweight, obese, inactive, and with other diseases. However, no research assessed intra-abdominal fat (IAF), which, more than subcutaneous fat, is associated with cardiovascular risk factors. In addition, these studies had important methodological limitations. Therefore, the primary purpose of this study is to identify the effect of two HIFCT protocols, prolonged load (HIFCT-P) and short load (HIFCT-S), performed in a virtual environment for ten weeks on intra-abdominal fat in people between 18-40 years-old with abdominal obesity.

Effect of Exercises on Physical Health and Cardiorespiratory Fitness in Obese Women

The study will be a Randomized clinical trial and will be conducted in services hospital lahore. The sample size of 50 patients will be taken in this study to find the effects of high intensity interval training versus moderate intensity exercises on physical health and cardiorespiratory fitness in obese women. Patients will be divided into two groups (Group A will be treated with high intensity interval training and Group B will be treated with moderate intensity exercises). Eligible participants attended three session per week. Overnight fast, resting metabolic rate and blood pressure will be assessed. An oral glucose test will be assessed and baseline blood samples will be used for lipoprotein analysis. Pacer test and step test performed in the each session. A regular follow-up visits to department and a final assessment will be made at the end of last week by using questionnaire and resulting improvement will shown in results after completion. Data will be analyzed on SPSS 25.

Postprandial Glycemia and Satiety of Meals With Potatoes, With and Without Protein

The proposed study aims to simulate a meal eaten at home, where meals will provide a fixed amount of protein from beef or vegetarian substitute "meat" balls with ad libitum access to one of mashed potatoes, full-fat fries, or pasta. Postprandial glycemia (PPG), insulin, active ghrelin, satiety, amino acid response and food intake (FI) at the meal and again 3h later (after an ad libitum pizza meal) will be measured. In addition, post-meal PPG and satiety will be measured for one hour after the second meal.

Consumption of sweetened beverages, media-viewing, and physical activity patterns are often established during early childhood, and family-based obesity interventions show effectiveness in shaping healthy behaviors and weight outcomes for young children, including Latino children. Missing from these interventions, however, are methods to increase accessibility and dissemination to multiple family caregivers. The proposed work will use a randomized study design to evaluate the impact a family-based early childhood obesity intervention for Latino families that incorporates evidence-based strategies of in-person childhood obesity interventions, mobile phones, and leverages important determinants of Latino health (e.g. familism, language) in order to decrease ethnic disparities in childhood obesity and cardiovascular risk.
