The main question it aims to answer is: - Is resistance exercise more effective than endurance exercise in preventing obesity relapse in post-bariatric surgery patients with insuficcient weight loss? - Is resistance exercise more effective than endurance exercise in increasing resting metabolic rate in post-bariatric surgery patients with insuficcient weight loss? Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the following groups: - Resistance group: performing resistance exercise-training for 16 weeks - Endurace group: performing endurance exercise-training for 16 weeks - Control group: no intervention / standard medical care

Xian-Hua-Cha for Relieving Hyperlipidemia With Obesity

The aim of this study is to include 100 selected patients with BMI higher than 27 and hyperlipidemia, and a crossover design is used to explore the efficacy of "Xian-Hua-Cha (XHC)" on relieving hyperlipidemia among obese patient. For this purpose, the changes of patients' body weight, body fat and the metabolic parameter including blood sugar, cholesterol, triglyceride are analyzed in the end of this study.

Obesity Treatment With a Very Low Energy Diet in Mexican Adults

Clinical practice guidelines recommend behavioral change protocols for obesity treatment, such as the Diabetes Prevention Program, which involves a low-energy diet, physical activity recommendations, behavioral therapy, and frequent visits. Weight losses of 7-9% per year have achieve with this type of intervention. However, evidence suggests that a very low-energy diet may reach 10-15% weight loss and conduce superior clinical effects. Therefore, the objective will be to evaluate the efficacy of the Diabetes Prevention Program with a very-low energy diet and a low-energy diet on body weight change at four months in Mexican adults with obesity. The study will be a randomized controlled trial. Participants will be randomized to an intensive lifestyle change program with a very low-energy diet or an intensive lifestyle change program with a low-energy diet. The primary outcome will be a change in body weight. Secondary outcomes will be changes in waist circumference, body mass index, total body fat, fat-free mass, abdominal fat, blood pressure, and quality of life. Data will be analyzed on an intention-to-treat (ITT) using Student's t-tests or Mann-Whitney's U-test. The protocol was performed following the SPIRIT guidelines. Ethical approval was obtained from the Research Ethics Committee of the Department of Medicine of the University of Sonora.

Randomized Trial of Healthy Family Foundations

The goal of this clinical trial is to test whether an adaptation of an evidence-based, couple-based preventive intervention at the transition to parenthood improves reduces obesity risk among infants and parents in military families via improved interparental support and coordination around health lifestyle behaviors and parenting. The main question it aims to answer is whether an adapted, innovative family-focused approach to obesity prevention can reduce rapid infant weight gain, new mothers' postpartum weight retention, and fathers' weight status. Participants randomized to the Healthy Family Foundations (HFF) intervention condition will participate in 10 online group classes (5 prenatal and 5 postnatal). Participants randomized to the control condition will receive standard of care and opportunities for education at their site. Researchers will compare the Healthy Family Foundations (HFF) intervention group with a Standard of Care control group to see if there are differences in weight, coparenting support, parent mental health and parent health behaviors.
