Filter by:The primary objective is to assess the safety of the CardioKinetix Parachute Implant and Delivery System in the partitioning of the left ventricle in patients with heart failure due to ischemic heart disease.
It is well known that 20-25% of patients hospitalized for acute myocardial infarction will develop acute heart failure during their hospitalization. Currently, the investigators have no reliable parameter for prediction of evolving acute heart failure in such a group of patients. As a result, the investigators have no way of preventing acute heart failure. Treatment of these patients only begins after appearance of clinical signs of acute heart failure. Lung impedance monitoring may be a good non-invasive parameter for prediction of evolving acute heart failure. This study will attempt to address whether preemptive lung impedence-guided therapy may prevent the development of overt acute heart failure and improve their clinical outcome.
The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of heart rate on cardiac index in patients with or without left ventricular hypertrophy. The study will be conducted in postoperative heart surgery patients with a pacemaker.
The central objective of this proposal is to establish that vitamin D supplementation in heart failure patients with low vitamin D levels will have improved outcomes compared to placebo. In addition the investigators will also evaluate the role of genetics in regard to vitamin D and heart failure. The investigators will be evaluating what is currently a novel approach of identifying patients with low vitamin D and treating this low vitamin D level. The investigators will be able to evaluate the importance of vitamin D supplementation in these patients and the role of genetics on our defined outcomes.
Hypothesis: Treatment with levosimendan will preserve myocardial function and hemodynamics after cardiac surgery and lead to reduced stay at intensive care unit

The study consists in two treatment groups, one group will receive Diurisa® (furosemide 40 mg + amiloride chloride 10 mg) and the other one will receive furosemide 40 mg (Lasix®)
The primary objective of this study is to assess safety and feasibility of IMPELLA 2.5 in Acute Decompensated Heart Failure patients.
The C-Pulse Study is evaluating the safety and performance of a new product for the treatment of heart failure. The product is designed to help reduce the symptoms of heart failure and help patients function better with daily activities. The study evaluates multiple measures of heart function and whether the patient's quality of life has been improved since the device implant. The patient will have several visits after the device implant to assess how well they are doing and to monitor any safety concerns.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of advanced features, that have been implemented in the PARADYM ICD Platform offering single chamber (VR - model 8250), dual Chamber (DR - 8550) and Cardiac Resynchronization System with defibrillation capabilities (PARADYM CRT System, model 8750) in a general ICD population.
