Effects of Intrathecal Dexmedetomidine as an Adjuvant to Low Dose Hyperbaric 0.5% Bupivacaine

Start date: July 20, 2021
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Patients will be enrolled in one of the two groups using a computer-generated random number table: Group I will receive 1.5 ml of 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine (7.5 mg). Group II will receive 1.2 mL of 0.5% hyperbaric bupivacaine (6 mg) along with 0.3 mL (3 μg )of dexmedetomidine (total 1.5 mL).

NCT ID: NCT05986942 Completed - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Evaluation of the Postoperative Agitation Prevention and Analgesic Efficacy of Perioperative Dexmedetomidine Infusion in a Pediatric Patient Group to Undergo Tonsillectomy and Adenoidectomy

Start date: October 9, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Dexmedetomidine is a drug known for its pain-relieving and restlessness-reducing effects. The purpose of this run is to use the association between this use during surgery and the attrition of post-operative pain and discomfort. In the research, laboratory and monitoring results will be obtained before, during and after the operation. Postoperative patient complaints will be evaluated at the postoperative service visit. This study is decided on a completely voluntary basis.

NCT ID: NCT05983393 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

Erector Spina Plane Block for Multilevel Major Spinal Surgery

Start date: September 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Erector spinae plane (ESP) block is an interfacial plane block with visceral and somatic analgesic activity at paraspinal muscles. This study aims to examine the postoperative analgesic efficacy of ESP block in patients undergoing posterior spinal instrumentation

NCT ID: NCT05982392 Completed - Post Operative Pain Clinical Trials

Effect of Preoperative Tramadol and Naproxen Sodium on Post Operative Pain

Start date: March 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare in Tramadol, Naproxen sodium and Placebo in participants presenting with irreversible pulpitis in their mandibular posterior teeth. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Local anesthetic efficacy and . - Postoperative pain. Participants will receive premedication treatments 60 minutes prior to the local anesthesia administration. Researchers will compare Tramadol, Naproxen sodium and Placebo to evaluate their effects on Inferior alveolar nerve block efficacy and Postoperative pain.

NCT ID: NCT05979597 Completed - Regional Anesthesia Clinical Trials

The Effect of Adjuvant Dexamethasone on Postoperative Pain, Analgesic Consumption and Block Properties in SFIB

Start date: August 10, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators aimed to demonstrate that dexamethasone added as an adjuvant to local anaesthetic agent in suprainguinal fascia iliaca block for effective postoperative analgesia after knee arthroplasty would prolong the duration of sensory block and reduce postoperative pain intensity and analgesic consumption.

NCT ID: NCT05979376 Completed - Pain, Postoperative Clinical Trials

Efficacy of Dexmedetomidine as an Adjuvant to Quadratus Lumborum Block

Start date: December 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This prospective double blinded study will be conducted over 60 pediatric patients ASA (American Association of Anesthesiologists) I and II between the age of 1-7 years old, who will be scheduled for unilateral groin surgery. Patients will be randomly allocated into 3 study groups: Control group that only received local anesthetics ( bupivacaine) Group II bupivacaine with the dexmetedomidine ( 0,5mcg/kg ) and group III bupivacaine with the dexmedetomidine (1mcg/kg).Patients in all groups will receive quadratus lumborum block. Bradycardia, hypotension, atropine, and bolus fluid infusion requirements will be recorded. When there was up to a 30% decrease in basal mean blood pressure, a crystalloid infusion bolus will be given at 10 ml/kg. When bradycardia occurred , atropine will be given at a dose of 0.02 mg/kg. Patients will be followed up in the postoperative recovery unit for the first 2 hours, and then in the ward. The RAMSEY sedation scale and WATCHA agitation scale were evaluated at 5, 15, 30, and 60 minutes in the postoperative recovery unit. Nausea, vomiting, and other side effects were recorded if present. Time to first analgesic requirement ( primary outcome) , FLACC Scale scores will be recorded within 24h postoperatively, total dose of analgesic consumption, incidence of postoperative complications as hypotension, bradycardia, vomiting, pruritis and respiratory depression will be recorded.

NCT ID: NCT05974748 Completed - Post-operative Pain Clinical Trials

Role of Propolis Endodontic Irrigant on Post-Operative Pain

Start date: April 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare propolis and sodium hypochlorite as endodontic irrigants in patients presenting with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis. . The main question it aims to answer is: • if there is any analgesic effects of 20% Propolis compared with 5.25% NaOCl on the intensity of post-operative pain in patients with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis using VAS pain score. Participants will undergo root canal treatment of their teeth using either 20% propolis solution or 5.25% NaOCl in their first visit of a multi-visit root canal treatment. Researchers will compare 20% Propolis and 5.25% NaOCl to see reduction in Intensity of Post-Operative Pain using visual analogue scale over 72 hour duration.

NCT ID: NCT05974501 Completed - Postoperative Pain Clinical Trials

Pre vs Post Block in Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA)

Start date: September 29, 2023
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this project is to determine if a change in patient reported pain, nausea and vomiting after total knee arthroplasty can be observed with the substitution of a post operative adductor canal block for a preoperative adductor canal block in the current established peri-operative pain protocol and if these changes lead to a decrease in opioid consumption (in morphine equivalents).

NCT ID: NCT05968105 Completed - Postoperative Pain Clinical Trials

Changes in Vessels After Peripheral Block

Start date: August 2, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

In patients with fluid deficit, vasoconstriction occurs in peripheral tissues and blood circulation is kept in the central area. It causes arterial vasodilation and hemodynamic variability by increasing the blood volume of the extremity due to the sympathectomy occurring after the block. When the investigators classify patients according to VCI-CI, it will be questioned whether there is a difference between patients' block quality and hemodynamic variability.

NCT ID: NCT05965674 Completed - Postoperative Pain Clinical Trials

Sacral Erector Spinae Plane Block Effect on Post-Hemorrhoidectomy Pain

Start date: June 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Hemorrhoids are commonly observed surgical conditions affecting the anorectal area, characterized by symptoms such as pain, bleeding, and the presence of a protruding mass from the anal opening. Fear of postoperative pain is one of the most important factors for patients to avoid surgical interventions. Postoperative pain is a significant concern, with over 80% of patients encountering moderate to severe pain. The main aim is to evaluate ESPB from the sacral level would result in effective analgesia following hemorrhoidectomy. It is also aimed if sacral ESPB would reduce the use of additional analgesics after hemorrhoidectomy and increase patient satisfaction. In this prospective, randomized, controlled trial, our main objective was to examine the postoperative analgesic effects of sacral ESPB following hemorrhoidectomy.
