NCT ID: NCT05276960 Recruiting - Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Trials

Efficacy of Intensive Cholecalciferol Monitoring and Supplementation on Serum vitD Levels in Pediatric Patients With CF

Start date: February 22, 2022
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an autosomal recessive disease caused by alterations in the Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance Regulator (CFTR) gene, characterized by multisystemic alterations, mainly in the lung, intestine, sweat, and bile ducts. In addition to pulmonary involvement, the presence of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency also increases the risk of survival, as it is associated with malnutrition and deficiency of fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamin D. Vitamin D, in addition to its role in bone health, in the case of CF patients with chronic inflammation, it has been suggested that many of the cytokines that regulate the inflammatory response contain elements that respond to vitamin D, so vitamin D could play an essential role in the regulation of the inflammatory response in CF, which could favor lung function. However, more than 50% of CF patients present vitamin D insufficiency or deficiency, despite the different schemes suggested for supplementation in different age groups, which suggests that new strategies are needed to normalize vitamin D levels, which will allow us to see its clinical effect on the inflammatory response, by decreasing the number of exacerbations and thus perpetuating or improving lung function, as well as on bone mineral health.

NCT ID: NCT05269394 Recruiting - Dementia Clinical Trials

Dominantly Inherited Alzheimer Network Trial: An Opportunity to Prevent Dementia. A Study of Potential Disease Modifying Treatments in Individuals With a Type of Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease Caused by a Genetic Mutation (DIAN-TU)

DIAN-TU
Start date: December 22, 2021
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

To assess the safety, tolerability, biomarker, cognitive, and clinical efficacy of investigational products in participants with an Alzheimer's disease-causing mutation by determining if treatment with the study drug improves disease-related biomarkers and slows the rate of progression of cognitive or clinical impairment.

NCT ID: NCT05269004 Active, not recruiting - Multiple Sclerosis Clinical Trials

A Rollover Study to Evaluate the Long-Term Safety and Efficacy of Ocrelizumab In Patients With Multiple Sclerosis

OLERO
Start date: May 3, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase IIIb, single-arm, multicenter, OLE study. Participants receiving ocrelizumab as an investigational medicinal product (IMP) in a Roche sponsored Parent study who continue to receive ocrelizumab or are in safety follow-up at the time of the closure of their respective Parent study (WA21092, WA21093 or WA25046) are eligible for enrollment in this extension study. Participants who will continue ocrelizumab treatment will receive IMP based on the dosage and administration received at the time of rollover from the Parent study.

NCT ID: NCT05268289 Recruiting - Lupus Nephritis Clinical Trials

Study of Efficacy and Safety of LNP023 in Participants With Active Lupus Nephritis Class III-IV, +/- V

Start date: August 10, 2022
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The overall purpose of this two-part study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of iptacopan (LNP023) in addition to standard of care treatment.

NCT ID: NCT05267496 Active, not recruiting - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

Oscillating Positive Expiratory Pressure Therapy for Patients With Thoracic Neoplasms Undergoing Chest Surgery

AEROBIKA
Start date: August 13, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This randomized clinical study aims to assess the use of an oscillating positive expiratory pressure device (AEROBIKA) in patients with thoracic neoplasms who undergo chest surgery. The main questions it aims to answer are: If the use of the AEROBIKA device reduces the incidence of atelectasis in oncological patients undergoing lung resection. If the use of the AEROBIKA device reduces hospital readmission and days of hospital stay. Participants who accept to participate will be sorted to receive a conventional rehab therapy (group A), otherwise a conventional rehab therapy plus AEROBIKA device (group B). Researchers will compare patients from group A versus group B to see if patients develop atelectasis.

NCT ID: NCT05262400 Recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

A Study to Learn About the Study Medicine (Called PF-07220060 in Combination With PF-07104091) In Participants With Breast Cancer and Solid Tumors

Start date: March 14, 2022
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this clinical trial is to learn about the safety and effects of the study medicine (called PF-07220060 and PF-07104091) in people with breast cancer. This clinical study consists of 2 parts (part 1 and part 2). In part 1, we are seeking participants who: - Have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer (BC) of either types: - Have HR+, HER2- BC - Refractory HR-positive/HER2-positive BC - Have other solid tumors other than BC In part 2, we are seeking participants who: -Have HR-positive/HER2-negative BC Part 1 will include increasing doses of PF-07220060 with PF-07104091. In part 2, participants will take 1 of 2 study medicine combinations. This will help us decide the highest amount of study medicines that can be safety given to people. All participants in this study will receive PF-07220060 with PF-07104091 by mouth. We will compare participant experiences to help us determine if PF-07220060 with PF-07104091 is safe and effective. Participants will take part in this study for about 2 years. During this time, they will receive the study medicine, an x-ray imaging, and will be observed for safety and effects of the study medicines.
