Combination Primary Care and Prevention Services for Women Who Inject Drugs and Exchange Sex in Seattle, Washington

Start date: March 18, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators will implement a non-randomized observational clinical trial that will include a pop-up clinic for women who inject drugs (WWID) near venues for exchange sex and drug use in north Seattle. The pop-up clinic will be housed within a van and serve as a research extension of the SHE Clinic, a Harborview Medical Center run clinic for women who exchange sex and use drugs in north Seattle. Through the implementation of the pop-up clinic, the investigators will aim to assess: 1. The impact of the pop-up clinic on uptake and sustained use of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) among WWID. 2. The impact of point of care (POC) sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing on STI treatment completion rates. 3. The acceptability and feasibility of providing HIV prevention care for WWID and exchange sex in a pop-up van clinic.

NCT ID: NCT06182280 Not yet recruiting - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

Transmaculine One-on-One and Group Empowerment for Targeted HIV Reduction

TOGETHR
Start date: January 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Transgender masculine and gender diverse people who have sex with men (TMSM) have an increased risk of HIV and face unique barriers engaging in prevention services. Digitally delivered support interventions addressing HIV prevention barriers delivered by peers in one-on-one or small-group settings may be effective at increasing PrEP engagement. This study examines the independent and combined effects of individual and group-based peer-support interventions on PrEP outcomes. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive: (i) standard-of-care HIV prevention information, (ii) a one-on-one healthy lifestyle intervention tailored for transgender masculine people, (iii) a peer-group based healthy lifestyle intervention for transgender masculine people, or (iv) both the one-on-one and group-based interventions delivered together. The hypotheses are that the individual group-based interventions will result in higher PrEP uptake and persistence than the standard of care and that the combined interventions will be more effective than receiving one individual intervention.

Implementation of Long-acting Cabotegravir + Rilpivirine Administration Out of "HIV Units".

IMAdART
Start date: December 2023

Study type: Interventional

This is a clinical trial whose main purpose is to evaluate the acceptability of the administration of LA CAB + extended-release RPV as perceived by patients in month 12 in multipurpose day hospital units versus specialized care centers (HIV Units). . Candidates to participate in this study are indicated to receive this medication, so the decision to include the participant in the study will be after the decision to prescribe the drug. These patients will be randomly assigned to one location or another to receive the administration of the medication. Therefore, and after consulting with the AEMPS, it is considered that this is a clinical trial WITHOUT medications. Both the medication and the procedures associated with the follow-up of the participants will follow the usual practice for this type of patient, with the exception of completing the questionnaires aimed at evaluating the primary and secondary objectives of this study.
