Transcutaneous Auricular Neurostimulation After Lumbar Fusion Surgery

Start date: May 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study, entitled "Delivering Transcutaneous Auricular Neurostimulation as an Adjunct Non-Opioid Pain Management Therapy for Patients Undergoing Lumbar Fusion Surgery", is to demonstrate whether transcutaneous auricular neurostimulation (tAN) can non-invasively reduce the perception of pain in patients undergoing lumbar fusion surgery. tAN is placed on and around the ear to non-invasively stimulate branches of the vagus and trigeminal nerves and modulate specific brain regions associated with pain.

NCT ID: NCT06099964 Recruiting - Pain Clinical Trials

Brief Mindfulness Intervention for Orthopedic Patients

Start date: November 13, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a single-site, two-arm, parallel-group randomized clinical trial (RCT). The clinical effects of a 4-minute audio-recorded mindfulness intervention for orthopedic patients will be investigated relative to a 4-minute audio-recoding about pain psychoeducation.

NCT ID: NCT06099886 Enrolling by invitation - Parkinson's Disease Clinical Trials

Repurposing Lithium for Parkinson's Disease

Start date: October 12, 2023
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This study will examine the effects of lithium aspartate 30-45mg/day on MRI biomarkers and blood-based therapeutic targets among 15 early-stage Parkinson's disease patients.

NCT ID: NCT06099808 Enrolling by invitation - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Veterans Affairs Pharmacist Heart Failure Medication Titration Project 1

Start date: November 20, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomized quality improvement project to evaluate the impact of an audit and feedback intervention to motivate pharmacists to provide heart failure (HF) medication management to patients in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Sierra Pacific region (VISN 21). The results of this project could provide guidance for how to successfully scale a pharmacist-based HF remote management program in the VHA more broadly. Pharmacists providing clinical care as part of Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) within VHA VISN 21 will be included. Pharmacists will be randomized to one of 3 arms in a 1:1:2 ratio: (1) monthly audit and feedback of HF medication titration activities (AF) vs. (2) educational resources and monthly notification of HF medication titration actions in addition to a list of potential patients for HF optimization (AF+) vs. (3) usual care without audit and feedback (UC). Pharmacists across all three arms will be given access to shared educational resources on HF pharmacist care and educational webinars. Six months after the intervention, rates of pharmacist HF medication titration encounters will be compared among the 3 groups.

NCT ID: NCT06099782 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

A Study of Participant Reported Preference for Subcutaneous Pembrolizumab Coformulated With Hyaluronidase (MK-3475A) Over Intravenous Pembrolizumab (MK-3475) Formulation in Multiple Tumor Types (MK-3475A-F11)

Start date: December 26, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate participant preference for coformulated hyaluronidase/pembrolizumab (MK-3475A) administered subcutaneously (SC) over pembrolizumab (MK-3475) administered intravenously (IV) in participants with multiple tumor types. There will be no hypothesis testing in this study.

NCT ID: NCT06099769 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Metastatic Breast Cancer

A Study of Enzalutamide, Enzalutamide in Combination With Mifepristone, or Chemotherapy in People With Metastatic Breast Cancer

Start date: October 18, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The researchers are doing this study to find out if the study drug, enzalutamide, alone or combined with the study drug, mifepristone, is effective in treating advanced or metastatic androgen receptor-positive (AR+) triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) or estrogen receptor-low breast cancer (ER-low BC), and whether these study treatments work as well as standard chemotherapy with carboplatin, paclitaxel, capecitabine, or eribulin.

NCT ID: NCT06099756 Recruiting - Sepsis Clinical Trials

Discharge Readmission Analysis and Management in Sepsis (DReAMS-2)

Start date: October 26, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is an adaptive platform. This study is being done to collect information that will help us identify trends in patients with sepsis and other health conditions being readmitted into hospitals within 30 days of being discharged. This information will be used to create a computer tool that will help predict a patient's risk of being readmitted into the hospital after being discharged. Participants will allow the study team to follow their health after they are discharged by taking their temperature once a day and placing their index finger over their smartphone camera when prompted by a text message. Participants will receive the text messages twice a day. When the participant receives the text message, they will click on the link and follow the instructions. Instructions include how to long to keep your finger on your phone camera and how to report your daily temperature. Additional questions will also be asked. After 30 days, the text messages will stop, and participation will be complete.

NCT ID: NCT06099743 Not yet recruiting - Glioma Clinical Trials

ASCENT Intervention for Brain Tumor Patients

Start date: May 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this study is to test a psychosocial intervention called ASCENT (ACT-based Supportive intervention for patients with CENTral nervous system tumors). This intervention was developed to help patients after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. The main question this study aims to answer is whether this intervention is feasible (i.e., possible to carry out) and acceptable (i.e., considered helpful) to patients. Participants will be asked to take part in 6 coaching sessions and complete short surveys at four different time points. Some participants will be asked to share feedback via interviews.

NCT ID: NCT06099730 Recruiting - Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Trials

Safety and Effectiveness of Pulmonary Vein isOLation And posterioR Wall Ablation wIth pulSed Field Energy in Patients With Paroxysmal and Persistent AF

POLARIS
Start date: December 14, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this clinical investigation is to demonstrate the safety and 12-month effectiveness of pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) and posterior LA wall isolation in the treatment of subjects with symptomatic paroxysmal and persistent atrial fibrillation using the pulsed field ablation with the VARIPULSEā„¢ catheter and the TRUPULSEā„¢ generator.

NCT ID: NCT06099678 Recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Enhancing Strength Gains With the Power of the Mind

Start date: November 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to determine the effect of maximal mental effort combined with elastic band training on strength and neuromuscular function in healthy, older females. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Does elastic band training in combination with maximal mental effort increase strength more than elastic band training alone? - Does elastic band training in combination with maximal mental effort improve neuromuscular function more than elastic band training alone? Participants will be randomly assigned to 1 of 3 groups: - Elastic band training - Elastic band training with maximal mental effort - Control Researchers will compare groups to determine differences in changes in strength, neuromuscular function, and body composition.
