The Brain Metabolism of Unpredictable Signals

Start date: March 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators will be studying brain glucose and oxygen metabolism using hybrid PET/fMRI imaging to better understand how decoupling between brain glucose and oxygen metabolism relates to the processing of unpredictable sensory signals.

NCT ID: NCT05756257 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Ischemic Stroke

Blood Pressure Variability and Ischemic Stroke Outcome

BP-VISO
Start date: May 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this observational study is to evaluate the role of blood pressure (BPV) variability in patients suffering from acute ischemic stroke. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. To determine the association of BPV with functional/cognitive outcome after ischemic stroke. 2. To determine a pathophysiologic mechanism of BPV's deleterious effect on functional outcome. 3. To evaluate potential treatment targets to pharmacologically reduce BPV after ischemic stroke.

NCT ID: NCT05755490 Not yet recruiting - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

PROWESS (PROstate Cancer Wearables Exercise and Structured Supports): A Pilot Supportive Care Intervention

Start date: March 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this research study is to conduct an open pilot of a behavioral change intervention called PROstate Cancer Wearables, Exercise, and Structured Supports (PROWESS) for integrating health behavior change tools and to increase exercise, reduce side effects of androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), and improve quality of life in Black and Hispanic/Latino men with prostate cancer. The name of the intervention used in this research study is: PROWESS (behavioral change intervention)

NCT ID: NCT05753683 Not yet recruiting - HIV Clinical Trials

Gathering Online for Dialogue and Discussion to Enhance Social Support

GODDESS
Start date: August 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this trial is to test a modified mobile health intervention (with a group component) relative to a mobile health intervention in a two-arm randomized trial with 500 young African American women who are human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-negative and who misuse alcohol. The expected outcomes are to: (1) determine the efficacy of the virtual group component in reducing alcohol use and sexual risk and increasing pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) utilization; and (2) understand selected outcomes for implementation. Participants will be randomized to receive either the mHealth app or the mHealth app plus the group component, and followed up at 3-, 6-, 9-, and 12-months post-enrollment.

NCT ID: NCT05751993 Not yet recruiting - Obesity Clinical Trials

Piloting a Reinforcement Learning Tool for Individually Tailoring Just-in-time Adaptive Interventions

Start date: September 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this pilot study is to conduct a 12-week pilot feasibility study testing usability of a reinforcement learning model (AdaptRL) in a weight loss intervention (ADAPT study). Building upon a previous just-in-time adaptive intervention (JITAI), a reinforcement learning model will generate decision rules unique to each individual that are intended to improve the tailoring of brief intervention messages (e.g., what behavior to message about, what behavior change techniques to include), improve achievement of daily behavioral goals, and improve weight loss in a sample of 20 adults.

NCT ID: NCT05750108 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Myocardial Infarction

Transcutaneous Vagal Nerve Stimulation to Prevent Tachyarrhythmias in Patients Early Following Myocardial Infarction

EARLY-VAGUS
Start date: June 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Among patients early following ST-segment (ST) elevation myocardial infarction, transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation is associated with a reduce of the burden of premature ventricular contractions in the first 40 days post-myocardial infarction (MI). The above hypothesis will be tested with a randomized, prospective, parallel, single-blind clinical trial. The expected study duration is approximately 12 months from the time the first subject is enrolled (planned for June 2023) to the time of study's termination date (December 2024). Patient enrollment is planned to take place at two major centers in Greece. The researchers will obtain approval by the institutional review board (IRB).

NCT ID: NCT05747755 Not yet recruiting - Diagnostic Errors Clinical Trials

Achieving Diagnostic Excellence Through Prevention and Teamwork

ADEPT
Start date: March 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study seeks to link a group of hospitals to measure and share the rates of diagnostic errors, to understand underlying causes of diagnostic errors, and develop ways that hospitals, clinicians, and patients can work together to avoid diagnostic errors and harms due to those errors. The investigators will test how data sharing and collaboration improve diagnostic processes and develop approaches which can be sustained into the future. The approach represents a novel application of rigorous outcome adjudication to the problem of inpatient diagnostic errors using a learning health system model.

NCT ID: NCT05746117 Not yet recruiting - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Continual vs. Routine Home Blood Pressure Monitoring and Management in Diverse Community Practice: CHANGE-BP

CHANGE-BP
Start date: December 15, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the CHANGE-BP study is to examine the change in in-office measured Blood Pressure (BP) from baseline to end of study (6-months) between participants randomized to either 1) Continual Blood Pressure Monitoring (CBPM), which includes receiving Aktiia's novel cuffless BP Research System that has an accompanying Aktiia Patient Interface smartphone application, and care delivered through a centralized Aktiia Provider Interface that displays device data and is accessible by a health care professional or 2) Home Blood Pressure Monitoring (HBPM), which includes a standard oscillometric blood pressure cuff and the standard blood pressure management care from a participant's primary care physician.

NCT ID: NCT05745285 Not yet recruiting - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Services Impact on Outcomes and Care

Start date: July 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to learn about the impact that the services and programs provided by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society have among patients with blood cancer, such as access to care, quality of life, and financial burden.
