NCT ID: NCT05779683 Completed - Cardiac Output Clinical Trials

Caretaker in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)

Start date: November 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

To monitor the cardiac post-op patient population with both the pulmonary artery catheter (PAC) and the Caretaker monitor, which will seek to validate the Caretaker monitor against continuous CO via the PAC. Up to a third of post-operative cardiac surgery patients develop cardiac arrhythmias such as atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation. Secondary analysis will be performed on the collected data to assess the Caretaker monitor's agreement with the PAC during periods of arrhythmia. Successful completion this study will provide clinical validation of the Caretaker monitor in one of the most hemodynamically challenging patient populations (post-cardiac surgery patients in the ICU), including during arrhythmias. The Caretaker monitor is most beneficial as it is non-invasive, is a minimal risk device, and for this protocol will not be utilized to make treatment decisions for the study subject. This device also does not project energy into the subject.

NCT ID: NCT05778747 Completed - Depression Clinical Trials

Feasibility of the Heart to Heart Yoga Program

H2HYoga
Start date: October 15, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A two-group (intervention vs. usual care), randomized controlled design will be used to determine the feasibility and acceptability of the intervention, the Heart2Heart program, and determine efficacy on physical and psychological outcomes in patients with heart failure (HF) and caregivers. A total of 20 patients with HF and 20 caregivers (n= 40) will be randomly assigned to the intervention or usual care group stratified by patient and caregiver groups. Only participants in the intervention will be asked to attend the 12-week sessions (two sessions per week; a total of 24 sessions in 12 weeks) via video conferencing (i.e., ZOOM). The short-term intervention efficacy will be assessed following week of the completion of 12-weeks sessions. Primary psychological outcomes include depressive symptoms, anxiety, stress, and quality of life. Primary physical outcomes include physical activity level, sleep quality, and perceived symptoms.

Exercise Strategies to Motivate and Relieve Stress

Start date: March 29, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate exercise strategies that motivate and relive stress in adults with cardiopulomnary conditions. The goals of this study are as follows: - To explore the feasibility (how easily it can be done) of using self-selected music during exercise training for adults with cardiopulmonary conditions. - To assess patient satisfaction of self-selected music with exercise for adults with cardiopulmonary conditions. - To explore the immediate effects of self-selected music on mood and symptoms (shortness of breath and fatigue) compared with listening to a podcast during their exercise training session Participants will: - Select 5-7 songs and 1 podcast to listen to during their treatment session - Walk on the treadmill while either listening to a podcast or music - Fill out surveys about their mood, symptoms (shortness of breath and fatigue), music/podcast, and exercise
