The aim of this study is to evaluate the posterior condylar angle of the distal femur in Turkish population and its concordance with the current standard prosthesis designs used in total knee arthroplasty and to evaluate anthropometric features of the distal femur in the Turkish population.
Hypothesis 1: Pregnant women in the EFT group will have a lower test score from Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale, and a follow-up score of three months and six months after the last application date, compared to the control group. Hypothesis 2: In the post-test of pregnant women in the EFT group, three months and six months after the last application date, the optimistic, self-confident and social support approach methods used to deal with stress will increase, and the helpless and submissive approach styles will decrease compared to the control group. Hypothesis 3: Pregnant women in the EFT group will have a lower test score from the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, and a follow-up score of three months and six months after the last application date, compared to the control group.
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of osteopathic manipulative treatment on pain intensity, disability level and psychosocial factors in patients with chronic non-specific neck pain. We hypothesed that osteopathic manipulative treatment is better than conventional physiotherapy in management of pain, disability and depression.

Context and Aims: Several studies have demonstrated an association between obesity, periodontitis, and exercise. This study aimed to investigate the effects of regular exercise on obese women with periodontal disease, using serum, saliva, and gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) samples. Settings and Design: A before-after study design was adopted to evaluate the effects of 12 weeks of regular exercise on obese women grouped according to periodontal status, without a control group (no exercise). Methods and Material: The study sample comprised fifteen patients without periodontitis (NP group) and 10 patients with chronic periodontitis (CP group), from whom periodontal parameters were measured and serum, saliva, and GCF samples were collected. Body mass index (BMI), anthropometric measurements, somatotype-motoric tests, and maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max) were recorded at baseline and after exercise. Statistical analysis used: MedCalc was used for statistical analysis.
Foot and body postures of patients with DMD will be evaluated. Foot structure characteristics such as foot length, metatarsal width, calcaneal valgus angle will be calculated for the foot posture. Also, the Foot Posture Index (FPI-6) scale will be used. The body posture will be evaluated with the New York Posture Scale. Many gait characteristics such as step length, cadence, support surface of the patients will be determined with GaitRite instrumented walkway. Patients' balance assessment will be evaluated with Bertec Balance Advantage. The statistical analysis method will determine the relationship between foot and body posture and gait and balance.
OBJECTIVE: This study was undertaken to assess the effect of repeated video-training sessions on the adequacy of metered-dose inhaler (MDI) among individuals with COPD. BACKGROUND: MDI devices facilitate the use of inhalation drugs in COPD patients and have become ever more important over the years. However, this device requires a certain level of hand-to- mouth coordination and cognitive ability. Since it has a high risk of application errors, training in its use is important to treatment success. DESIGN: Randomised controlled trial METHOD: This study was carried out from 1 February to 1 July 2017 with the participation of 40 COPD patients. The data were collected using a 'Patient Information Request Form' and an 'MDI Skill Evaluation Form'. CONSORT checklist was used to report the current study. RESULTS: It was found that there was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of the mean scores of the 1st measurement (p > .05), though the mean scores of the 5th measurement were significantly higher in the experimental group (p< .001). In the 5th measurement, it was identified that the control group had 'moderate' adequacy (3.20±1.6), while the experimental group had 'satisfactory' adequacy (8.70 ± 1.17), indicating that the patients in the experimental group made fewer mistakes and showed improved adequacy. CONCLUSION: It was found that repeated video-training sessions materially improved MDI skills. Relevance to clinical practice. Supporting the training on inhaler drug therapy with visual technological tools and regular checking of drug use will contribute to COPD management.
The aim of the study was to investigate the intra-rater and inter-rater reliability of elbow strength measurement procedures performed in different body postures and shoulder and elbow positions using a hand-held dynamometer in healthy individuals and to determine the standard error of measurement (SEM) and minimum detectable change (MDC) values for these procedures.
Since December 2019 the world has been shaken with an enormous global threat: the Covid-19 pandemic. This new kind of coronavirus is generating an unprecedented impact both on the general population and on the healthcare systems in most countries. Health services are trying to expand their capacity to respond to the pandemic, taking actions such as increasing the number of beds; acquiring necessary equipment to provide intensive therapy (ventilators), and calling retired health professionals and health students so they can assist the overwhelmed health care workforce. Unfortunately, these organizational changes at health facilities, along with the fears and concerns of becoming ill with the virus or infecting their families, put an enormous emotional burden on workers in health services which may lead to negative outcomes on mental health in this population. Recent cross-sectional studies in China indicate that health service workers exposed to people with Covid-19 reported higher rates of depressive and anxious symptoms. This negative impact on mental health among health workers in China has also been informally reported in other countries where the Covid-19 pandemic has been devastating in its effects (such as Spain and Italy), as well as in countries where the pandemic is becoming a growing public health problem. This is particularly relevant in regions with fewer resources (Latin America, North Africa), where there are limited means and the response from the health system is usually insufficient. Moreover, it is necessary to study these negative effects longitudinally considering that some effects will appear over time (post-traumatic stress). The COVID-19 HEalth caRe wOrkErS (HEROES) study is a large, bottom-up, South-North initiative aimed to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of health care workers (HCWs). HEROES encompasses a wide variety of academic institutions in 19 LMICs and 8 HICs, in partnership with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and with support from the World Health Organization (WHO). The HEROES study is led by Dr. Rubén Alvarado at University of Chile, and Dr. Ezra Susser and Franco Mascayano at Columbia U Mailman School of Public Health.
