Filter by:The primary objective of this study is to compare the presence of C acnes in bacteriologic cultures taken from participant samples of subcutaneous and deep tissue prior to deep surgical irrigation using either Normal Saline Irrigation (Group 1) or Irrisept Irrigation (Group 2). Secondary objectives are evaluation of patient reported outcome measures and range of motion in relation to C acnes presence among subjects in the two groups.
The investigators implanted 264 Galaxy TS implants (with or without BBL) in 33 patients across both jaws. Implant stability and osseointegration were assessed using Initial Stability Quotient (ISQ) measurements, computed tomography (CBCT) scans and pain evaluations at various intervals post-surgery. Further, implant surfaces were examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). In vitro studies evaluated the efficacy of BBL on dental pulp pluripotent stem cells (DPPSCs) osteogenesis, and inflammatory factor modulation in human macrophages.
1. We collect lung tissues from patients with different ages and confirm that KLK8 expression is positively correlated with age. 2. We collect peripheral blood from patients with different ages and duration of mechanical ventilation to explore the correlation between the degree of endothelial/epithelial damage, age and duration of mechanical ventilation.
This research project can contribute to a deeper understanding of injury patterns among professional female ice-hockey players allowed to body check. An understanding of common injury types and mechanisms aids the clinician in diagnosis and management. This information can guide preventative strategies in the areas of education, coaching, rule enforcement, rule modifications, equipment improvement, and sportsmanship. Today, ice hockey is a sport associated with many severe injuries that not only causes suffering and lower quality of life for the athlete, but also costs society a lot of money. Reducing the number and severity of sport-related injuries is therefore of importance. Knowledge of the injury epidemiology of women's hockey could also contribute to better preventive training programs and other injury preventive actions in the sport. Currently, only a minority of all sports medicine research is made on female study participants (26). This research project has the possibility to gain more knowledge about the female athlete, not only applicable for elite hockey-players, but also for female athletes in different disciplines and in youth teams. Knowledge of factors associated with injury could also contribute to better injury preventive actions and highlight subgroups in extra need of future preventive interventions.
Analyze the correlation between the conformity of the anatomy (based on endoscopic examination) and postoperative anastomotic fistula and anastomotic stenosis; establish an anastomotic classification; and construct a predictive model combined with perioperative-related test indicators to provide more accurate risk assessment for clinical practice. Analyze the natural recovery process of postoperative recurrent laryngeal nerve injury in esophageal cancer by tracking vocal cord movement (based on endoscopic examination) and hoarseness symptoms; combined with perioperative related surgical and laboratory indicators, identify the relevant risk factors associated with delayed recovery of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury.
The study aims to analyse the impact of music therapy-based treatment on the comfort and well-being of patients with acquired brain injury (ABI). To achieve this objective, it is proposed to validate and implement a music therapy-based assessment and treatment protocol. The protocol will be tested in a pilot sample to improve adaptation to the disease and promote integration with the usual health measures of patients with ABI. Implementing a group treatment programme based on music therapy applied to patients with ABI.
The goal of this randomised cross-over feasibility trial is to investigate two intensive robot-assisted training therapies in the early rehabilitation phase after traumatic brain injury and disorders of consciousness. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Is the protocol feasible concerning inclusion in the study? - Is the protocol feasible concerning protocol completion? Participants will randomly be assigned to either five days of robot-assisted gait training (GAIT), two days of pause, then five days of robot-assisted step training (STEP) or vice versa. The investigators will explore and compare safety events, physiological measures and physical activity levels, behavioural measures, and functional disability outcomes. Further, the investigators report intervention and technical parameters in detail.
In our locality, limited studies have discussed AKI in patients with liver cirrhosis and its outcome, therefore we aim to highlight the incidence, patterns, risk factors, and outcomes of acute kidney injury in patients with liver cirrhosis at Sohag University Hospital.
To our knowledge, no study has compared the difference between these two NA techniques. Early postoperative adverse events like uncontrolled pain, orthostatic hypotension, urinary retention, and prolonged motor block are linked to late patient mobilization, prolong hospitalization and failure to discharge in outpatient setting. The type of anesthesia used may have an important impact. Therefore, this study has the potential to improve the already established ERAS program and improve patients care perioperative and postoperative. Showing that SED-EA and SA are equivalent will allow for a more efficient and reliable technique for THA/TKA ERAS program that can be further translated into other lower limb surgeries.
The purpose of the study: Evaluation of the clinical efficacy and safety of the use of collagen matrix/membrane in the surgical treatment of the consequences of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system (anterior cruciate ligament tears, rigid first toe) by using IKDC, KOOS, ACLOAS, VAS, AOFAS, SF-36 scales
