The goal of this study is to evaluate the effect of intraoperative microbreaks and exercises on gynecologic surgeon body discomfort by conducting a randomized trial. We hypothesize that gynecologic surgeons will experience decreased pain on surgery days with intraoperative microbreaks and exercises without compromising overall surgical performance.

It is anticipated that approximately 280 patients will be randomized into the study in a 1:1 ratio to 400 mg APX-115 (Isuzinaxib hydrochloride) or placebo arm.

This randomized, controlled, pivotal study is intended to determine whether up to ten sequential 24-hour treatments with the Selective Cytopheretic Device (SCD) will improve survival in patients with Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) requiring continuous kidney replacement therapy (CKRT) when compared to CKRT alone (standard of care). This study is further intended to determine whether SCD therapy will reduce the duration of maintenance dialysis secondary to AKI. This study will enroll approximately 200 subjects across 30 US sites. Participants will be patients in an intensive care unit (ICU) setting with a diagnosis of AKI requiring CKRT.

Neurostimulation for Respiratory Function After Spinal Cord Injury

The purpose of this research study is to learn more about the connections between the brain, nerves, and diaphragm after experiencing a cervical spinal cord injury (SCI).The main question it aims to answer is: Changes in respiratory function and recovery using stimulation and respiratory exercise training in spinal cord-injured individuals. Participants will complete a maximum of 55 study visits. They will be asked to complete about 40 treatment sessions which include multiple stimulation sessions over the scalp and neck, followed by about 60 minutes of respiratory training. Assessment sessions will be completed prior at baseline, after 20 sessions and after 40 sessions of study treatment.

This study aims to evaluate the use of BFRT in conjunction with traditional anterior ligament reconstruction (ACLR) rehabilitation in adolescents. The purpose of this study is to compare the addition of a BFRT based exercise protocol to a standard ACL rehabilitation protocol in adolescents. Does the addition of BFRT-based exercise improve strength, hypertrophy, and patient reported outcomes after ACLR in the adolescent population?

Assessing Symptom and Mood Dynamics in Pain Using the Smartphone Application SOMA

This study relies on the use of a smartphone application (SOMA) that the investigators developed for tracking daily mood, pain, and activity status in acute pain, chronic pain, and healthy controls over four months.The primary goal of the study is to use fluctuations in daily self-reported symptoms to identify computational predictors of acute-chronic pain transition, pain recovery, and/or chronic pain maintenance or flareups. The general study will include anyone with current acute or chronic pain, while a smaller sub-study will use a subset of patients from the chronic pain group who have been diagnosed with chronic low back pain, failed back surgery syndrome, or fibromyalgia. These sub-study participants will first take part in one in-person EEG testing session while completing simple interoception and reinforcement learning tasks and then begin daily use of the SOMA app. Electrophysiologic and behavioral data from the EEG testing session will be used to determine predictors of treatment response in the sub-study.

Immediate Versus Optional Delayed Surgical Repair for Treatment of Acute ACL Injuries

Currently, most patients with an anterior cruciate ligament injury undergo surgery. There is a general belief that surgical reconstruction is necessary to safely return to sports and to prevent early knee osteoarthritis or additional meniscus injuries. But there is insufficient scientific evidence to support this belief. Moreover, several studies show that surgical reconstruction of the cruciate ligament does not guarantee successful return to sports or the prevention of osteoarthritis and secondary meniscus injuries. Therefore, immediate surgery after an anterior cruciate ligament injury is questioned. So far, only two RCTs (KANON study and COMPARE study) have assessed this, and they could not show that immediate reconstruction is an added value (in terms of symptoms, knee function, activity level, osteoarthritis or additional meniscal injuries) compared to a conservative approach consisting of rehabilitation and late surgery for persistent knee instability. Therefore, this additional multicenter RCT, aims to 1) verify these results and 2) to identify predictors that predict which patients in the conservative group will not require late surgery. This has not been investigated to date. It is suspected that factors such as symptoms, strength, findings on the MRI scan and psychological factors may play a role in whether or not a patient will be able to successfully rehabilitate without surgical repair. This information is invaluable to physicians because it allows them to decide which treatment is best for the patient.

A Morphological Study in Volleyball Athletes With Cronic Ankle Instability

The former purpose of this study to investigate the effect of transverse abdominis, lumbar multifidus, vastus lateralis, lateral gastrocnemius, anterior talofibular ligament of morphology on explosive power and balance performance in cronic ankle instability with volleyball players. The latter purpose of this study to determine morphological characteristics volleyball players with and without cronic ankle insatbility of trunk muscle morphology, field tests and the muscle morphology features between the body affected and unaffected sides whose those with chronic ankle instability.This study was designed as a cross-sectional. Twelve volleyball players with chronic ankle instability who meet the criteria determined by the ankle consortium will be included in study group. Twelve asymptomatic volleyball players who have been training at least three days a week for at least one year will be include in the control group. They will consist of 24 volleyball players between 14-35 years of age.Morphological characteristics of anterior talofibular ligament, transverse abdominis, lumbar multifidus, vastus lateralis, lateral gastrocnemius will be evaluated via ultrasound, explosive power with squat jump, counter movement jump and balance performance by Y-Balance Test. Trunk muscle morphology, core stabilization, explosive power, balance performance will have been compered in volleyball players with and without chronic ankle instability. The effects of morphological features on explosive power and balance performance will have been determined. It is anticipated that by determining the parameters that can be affected by instability with volleyball players, it will guide the professionals working in the field, countribute to treatment and preventive treatment programs.
