There are about 173942 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in United States. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and blood levels of a medicine, naltrexone, contained within an implant in healthy volunteers age 18 to 65 years. To do this, the implant containing the drug will be inserted under the skin, left in place for 3 months and then removed.
Humanitarian Device: Authorized by Federal (U.S.A.) Law for use in treatment of chronic intractable (drug refractory) nausea and vomiting secondary to gastroparesis of diabetic or idiopathic etiology.
To collect real-world evidence allowing assessment of functional, imaging, and safety outcomes of commercially available MicroVention devices used for the endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms (IA) at the direction of the treating physician.
This is a minimal risk study focusing on food purchasing and consumption in 100 subjects in the greater New Orleans area. There is evidence showing that individually-targeted vouchers effectively increase category-level food purchases in both less healthful and more healthful categories. This pilot study will investigate whether a voucher program using Instacart or a local, brick-and-mortar supermarket in New Orleans, LA lead to changes in food purchasing patterns, food consumption, food insecurity, and access to healthy food options for the participants, who are at risk of cardiovascular disease and/or cardiac complications. The study will also measure concordance between food purchasing and actual consumption.
Individuals surviving Chronic Ischemic Stroke have lingering walking deficits long after their infarct. The main goal of this study is to compare two high intensity treadmill walking programs to see which improves walking more. The main question we aim to answer is: How does blood flow restricted high-intensity treadmill training impact walking function? Participants will be randomly separated into two groups. One group will perform the high intensity treadmill training with blood flow restriction on their Stroke affected leg, while the second group performs high intensity treadmill training only. Every week participants will be asked to walk on the treadmill for a total of 75 minutes during 2x 1-hour sessions. On visit 1, participants will undergo strength, balance, and walking testing. They will then be treated 2x weekly for 4 weeks (visit 2-9) and be re-tested to track progress on visit 10. Participants will again be treated 2x weekly for 4 more weeks (visit 11-18) and be tested to see the end results on visit 19. Researchers will then compare both groups to see if blood flow restriction training changes walking function, strength, and balance.
This study is examining the use of intensive melodic intonation therapy and video feedback as a means of aiding individuals with nonfluent aphasia and co-occurring motor speech impairments. Individuals with nonfluent aphasia have difficulty with language, particularly with word retrieval.
The APPEND-CT registry is an investigator-driven multicenter retrospective observational database intended to compile cardiac CT follow-up data after Watchman FLX device implantation and function as a platform for answering clinical and research questions within LAAC follow-up. The derived studies should support therapeutic decision-making, improve risk-stratification in LAAC and help generate hypotheses for potential future clinical intervention trials.
A prospective observational cohort trial to study the effects of CGRP inhibitors (CGRPi) on lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and bladder/pelvic pain. Candidates for either CGRPi or an alternative therapy for refractory migraines (OnabotulinumtoxinA (BoNTA) extracranial muscle injections) with baseline LUTS will be recruited. The investigators will assess LUTS and pelvic pain using validated symptom and quality-of-life questionnaires, pretreatment and at 3 months post-treatment follow-up, comparing change in symptoms based on treatment received.
Acalabrutinib and Zanabrutinib are highly effective drugs used to treat Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, but they are associated with high blood pressure and abnormal heart rhythms. SENTINEL is an observational study that will use wearable technology to monitor heart rhythm and blood pressures at home to better understand how frequently patients are experiencing high blood pressure and/or abnormal heart rhythms.
Food insecurity, poor nutrition, and economic disadvantage are critical social determinants of health that contribute to disparities in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), a serious diet-sensitive chronic disease affecting more than 20% of food insecure adults. There is a demonstrable need for food-focused interventions to address the diet quality of persons with, or at risk of, T2DM. Completion of the pilot study will produce recruitment, retention, adherence, and cost data for a future definitive randomized controlled clinical trial, bringing us closer to the long-term goal of a tested, efficacious model of diabetes care coordinated across Federally Qualified Health Centers and food bank networks.
