Lower third molar extraction is one of the most common treatments in oral surgery practice. It is a treatment with inherent complications such as postoperative pain, swelling or trismus. In order to minimize disconfort after extraction, analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication is prescribed. The Effect of Pain Management Education on The Mothers in Newborn

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of non-pharmacological pain management education given to mothers on the use of non-pharmacological methods and anxiety levels of mothers during routine heel blood collection (guthrie screening test) in term newborns. H0= There was no difference between the intervention group who received non-pharmacological pain management education and the control group's level of anxiety and use of non-pharmacological applications. H1= The use of non-pharmacological methods is different between the intervention group and the control group that received non-pharmacological pain management education. H2= Anxiety scores of the intervention group that received non-pharmacological pain management education and the control group were different. H3= Some characteristics and anxiety levels of mothers have an effect on their use of non-pharmacological methods. It was carried out between July - September 2021 at the Akşehir State Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic, which serves in the Akşehir district of Konya province.

The study will be a 12-week randomized controlled trial that aims to examine the effects of a machine learning-based lower limb exercise training system for older adults with knee pain. Participants will be randomly allocated to either the machine learning-based lower limb exercise training system group (intervention arm), video-based exercise training system group (intervention arm), or usual care group (control arm). Data will be collected at baseline, and at 4, 8, and 12 weeks after randomization.

Pain Relief in Symptomatic Bone Metastases With Adjuvant Hyperthermia MR Guided HIFU

Metastatic disease to the bone is a common cause of pain. External beam radiation therapy (EBRT) is the standard palliative treatment BUT pain improvement is observed in 60% to 80%. Combination of hyperthermia (HT) with radiation is strongly compelling. MR is providing accurate, tissue-independent thermometry for intra-procedural guidance of thermal therapy. In this project we aim to combine in an adjuvant setting mild hyperthermia to EBRT for sustained relief of pain in patients with symptomatic bone metastases.

Clinical Effect of LG Medipain for Managing Chronic Pain Disorders

Scrambler Therapy is a type of non-invasive neuromodulation. According to the researches that studied the effects of the existing Scrambler therapy, 10 times of Scrambler Therapy showed a significant pain relief lasting for more than 1-3 months in various pain disorders such as post-herpetic neuralgia, cancer-related neuropathic pain, and mixed pain. No treatment-related side effects have been reported in Scrambler therapy conducted in previous studies. The most inconvenient thing about Scrambler Therapy is that it has to be treated more than 10 times during specific period, so frequent visits to the hospital for treatment linked to the higher burden for the patient's cost and even those are not fully covered by the government's insurance. To reduce this discomfort and expand the range of treatment in the era of Corona of untact treatment, LG Electronics devised a home self-scrambler treatment device for pain patients. The LG Medipain device has the same treatment function as the existing hospital Scrambler treatment device, but there has been no study on its efficacy and safety. Therefore, the investigators want to conduct this research and find out about the safety and equal efficiency of the LG Medipain Therapy. In this study, it is expected that pain relief and improvement of quality of life can be obtained for patients with various types of chronic pain through self-application of LG Medipain device.

Minimal Effective Concentration of Lidocaine in Propofol Lidocaine Mixture for Relief of Pain on Propofol Injection

The research will be carried out in order to determine the optimal lidocaine concentration in propofol lidocaine mixture to prevent pain on propofol injection during induction of general anesthesia using a modified Dixon's up-and-down method. We hypothesized that focusing on lidocaine concentration and not dose could be more convenient and valuable to alleviate pain with propofol injection. Patients & methods include assessment of severity of pain on propofol injection using nine concentrations of lidocaine in lidocaine propofol mixture in ASA I&II patients aged 16-60 years with excluxion of patients with history of drug allergy, hepatic or renal impairment, cardiac problems, neurologic deficits or psychiatric disorders. Demographic data, type and duration of surgery, Time for unconsciousness, volume of propofol-lidocaine mixture used, pain scale during injection, increase in heart rate and/or hand or forearm withdrawal during injection will be recorded and patient satisfaction (will be assessed in the recovery room after regaining consciousness),

The Influence of Expectations, Attention and the Test Paradigm on the Efficacy of the Pain Processing System

Conditioned pain modulation (CPM) is the endogenous pain relief mechanism responsible for the "pain-inhibits-pain" phenomenon. This mechanism can be activated experimentally, and its efficiency evaluated by experimental pain tests. According to the "pain-inhibits-pain" principle, during such an experimental testing paradigm, a painful test stimulus is typically applied, followed by a conditioning stimulus. The effect of the conditioning stimulus on the test stimulus is examined to determine whether or not the conditioning stimulus elicits an inhibitory effect. With this study, the investigators want to examine in pain-free adults whether and to what extend the efficacy of CPM is influenced by 1) attention (focus versus distraction), 2) intrinsic expectations (pain reduction versus no change versus pain increase) with regard to pain due to the CPM paradigm used, and 3) the order of application of the test stimulus and conditioning stimulus (sequential versus parallel paradigm).
