Individuals with obesity are at higher risk for severe disease, hospitalizations, and death from the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Social distancing guidelines intended to prevent viral spread during the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in major changes to daily routines . Several studies have demonstrated that individuals with overweight/obesity reported worsening mental health, poor eating habits , less physical activity (PA) since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of these pandemic rules, the use of phone/video consultancy applications and online classes for body weight control and diet monitoring is increasing. Therefore, in this study it is aimed to determine the effect of diet counseling via phone or video on weight loss and to compare it with the traditional follow-up method in the COVID-19 pandemic.
The overall goal is to increase the knowledge that can be used for the development of food products with anti-diabetic properties, with the purpose to facilitate healthier food choices for people. More specifically the primary purpose of this project is to evaluate effects in healthy humans on acute postprandial glucose regulation of plant based lipids. Due to the tight connection between cardiometabolic health and cognitive functions, a secondary issue is to investigate effects of test foods on cognitive test variables and mood parameters.
The aim of this study is to observe the efficacy of electrical vestibular nerve stimulation in the management of obesity. Allocation: Active device (participants act as their own self-control) Endpoint classification: Efficacy Study. The study provides further evidence for the efficacy of electrical vestibular nerve stimulation in the management of obesity.
Subjective tinnitus is the perception of irregular sound at different frequencies. Although the underlying cause of tinnitus is unclear, increased body weight is known to increase tinnitus symptoms. This study aimed to determine the effects of dietary and physical activity interventions on tinnitus symptoms. Sixty-three obese subjects with tinnitus aged 20 to 65 years were divided into diet + physical 8 activity (P.A.), diet, P.A., and control groups. Dietary and anthropometric records, Tinnitus Handicap 9Inventory (THI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36), and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) of all individuals were compared at the baseline and at the end of the study.
The overall goals of this project are to evaluate the feasibility of web-based nurse-led motivational interviewing and educational interventions to promote healthy behaviours for obesity prevention and maintenance of healthy weight and behaviours among young adults attending university (age 18-29) in Hamilton, Ontario. A secondary goal is to evaluate if the intervention is more successful among people at higher risk of obesity (a risk stratification approach). A pilot randomized controlled trial will be conducted. Young adults will be randomized to receive a tailored behavioural intervention through motivational interviewing sessions with a nurse combined with educational materials, or control (educational materials only). Both groups will be followed for 6 months and their weight at baseline and end of the study will be measured. Outcomes related to the feasibility of the intervention and participants' experiences in the study will also be measured.

This evaluation evaluated Health Education England's NoObesity digital health app's usability and acceptability to undertake activities improving families' diet, physical activity and weight. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the app's influence on self-efficacy and goal setting and to determine what can be learned to improve its design for future studies, should there be evidence of adoption and sustainability.
The overall aim of this 12-week randomized controlled trial is to investigate if a dietary fiber supplement rich in arabinoxylans (AX) affects weight loss success differently according to baseline gut microbiota composition in subjects who have overweight or obesity. 105 participants will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio to receive 15 g/day of AX or placebo.
The aim of this study is to look at how the study medicine behaves in participants body and how it is removed from their body. The study compares three different doses of the study medicine in Chinese healthy men. Participant will either get 0.3 mg, 0.9 mg or 1.8 mg NNC0174-0833 which dose participant get is decided by chance. NNC0174-0833 is a new medicine and has not been approved by the Center for Drug Evaluation. We are testing the study medicine to make a medicine that can help people lose weight. Participant will get 1 injection by a study nurse or doctor at the clinic. The injection will be with a needle in a skin fold in the stomach area. The study will last for about 5 months. But participants participation will last about 2 months. Participant will have 8 clinic visits with the study staff. One of these visits will be a 7-day, 6-night stay. At all visits, except the information visit, participant will have blood drawn along with other clinical examinations. Participants will be asked about their health, medical history and habits including mental health.
