Filter by:Human immuno deficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) infections continues to be a serious health threat throughout the world and development of medicines with new mechanism of action have an important role to play. GSK3640254 is a maturation inhibitor (MI) and can be effective in HIV-1 treatment. This randomized, 2-part, single and repeat increasing dose study will collect information on safety, tolerability and drug levels in the body of in healthy subjects for GSK3640254. The information collected in this study will help in further clinical development of GSK3640254, including a Phase IIA Proof of Concept (PoC) study in HIV-infected subjects. Approximately 16 healthy subjects will be randomized to receive single oral dose of GSK3640254 and placebo in Part 1 and approximately 56 healthy subjects will be randomized to receive repeat oral dose of GSK3640254 or placebo in Part 2. All doses will be given immediately after a moderate fat meal. Maximum duration of study participation will be approximately 12 weeks.

The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of Darunavir/ Cobicistat/ Emtricitabine/ Tenofovir Alafenamide (D/C/F/TAF) fixed-dose combination (FDC) in a Test and Treat model of care in newly diagnosed human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1)-infected, treatment-naive participants as determined by the proportion of virologic responders defined as having (HIV)-1 ribonucleic acid (RNA) lesser than 50 copies per milliliter (copies/mL) at Week 48.

This study will investigate preferences for HIV care among participants enrolled in the "Study to evaluate the feasibility of Community-based Test and Treat strategies among men who have sex with men and transgender women to increase the uptake of HIV testing and treatment services in Thailand" through a model involving linked strategies: The study takes place in four provinces at six sites affiliated with the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Center (TRCARC): Bangkok (RSAT and SWING), Chiang Mai (CAREMAT), Chonburi (SWING and Sisters) and Songkhla (RSAT). These are all community-based drop-in centers, targeting MSM and TGW. Participants who are enrolled in the study at any of the TRCARC affiliated sites and who were tested HIV-positive will be invited to participate in the current questionnaire study.
The mass provision of HIV treatment in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa has raised adult life expectancy by 18 years since 2003. We will conduct a population-based survey to assess young adults' beliefs about HIV, HIV treatment, and expectations for the future in the era of mass HIV treatment. Thh investigators will conduct a randomized evaluation to assess whether a short video providing young adults with information on longevity gains from HIV treatment affects young adults survival expectations, hope for the future, and health and educational behaviours, including uptake of HIV testing, the study's primary outcome.
Clinical specimens are required from HIV positive individuals with viremia controlled by antiretroviral therapy to complete process development for a genetically modified autologous T cell product, AGT103-T. The product will be used in a subsequent early stage clinical trial in subjects with chronic HIV disease and viremia suppressed by antiretroviral therapy as the initial step in testing a functional cure for HIV disease. Enrolled participants provide a venous blood specimen (approximately 25mL) to determine their level of HIV-reactive CD4+ T cells. Subjects with positive T cell responses will be asked to undergo leukapheresis and their clinical specimens will be used to validate and qualify the AGT103-T cell product.
