Safety, Tolerability, and Pharmacokinetics of IXT-m200

Approximately 9 participants will be enrolled in the study in a single cohort. Participants will be randomized to 3 g IXT-m200 or placebo at 7:2. Each will receive their dose as a 30-min intravenous infusion, then remain at the study site overnight to complete Day 1 and Day 2 assessments (e.g., electrocardiogram (ECG), laboratory assessments, blood draws, and vital signs). Following discharge on Day 2, participants will return to the clinic for follow-up pharmacokinetic (PK) and safety assessments on Day 8, then every 1-3 weeks thereafter until Day 127.

The Effect of Grape Consumption on Increasing the Good Bacteria in the Human Intestine

This pilot study will assess the ability of daily consumption of one dose (2 servings) of freeze-dried whole table grape powder, made from conventionally grown grapes to alter the composition of the bacteria that live in the intestines in healthy subjects. The grape powder contains 46g of individually quick frozen (IQF) grapes, which is equivalent to 252g fresh fruit. 20 subjects will will consume the beige diet for 4 weeks followed by one dose (two servings) of standardized Freeze-Dried Whole Table Grape Powder (46g) daily for 4 weeks. The primary objective of this pilot study is to determine changes in the gut microbiome. Stool samples will be collected at 4 and 8 weeks for bacterial DNA to determine changes in the bacteria that live in the intestines. You will be asked to avoid foods rich in polyphenols including dark chocolate and cocoa products, dried herbs, berries, coffee, tea, flaxseeds, nuts (chestnut, hazelnut), olive and artichoke for the duration of the study.

Comparison of Neuromuscular Integrative Activity and Pilates on Sedentary Females

The aim of this study was to compare the effects of Neuromuscular Integrative Action (NIA) and Pilates exercises on physical fitness and psychological effects in sedentary women. 20-45 years old 43 sedentary females were randomly divided into Pilates and NIA groups. The 6-Minute Walking Test (6MWT), the Sit and Reach Test, and the Static Plunk Test durations were used for the physical fitness level assessment at baseline and at the end of trainings. In addition, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, the Beck Anxiety Inventory, and the SF-36 were used to evaluate the psycho-somatic symptoms and health-related quality of life of the participants. Both groups received 60-min exercise sessions 2 days a week for 8 weeks.

Impact of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment on Pursuit Eye Movements in Healthy Human Adults

The idea that osteopathic manipulative treatments (OMTs) should have an impact on the human visual system is not new. Nevertheless, there is a lack of scientific, objective, and experimental evidence. Our goal is to conduct a randomized, double-blind, controlled study to evaluate the effect of OMT on ocular pursuit. Eye movements will be measured by an infra-red video-based eye tracking system with a high spatial and temporal resolution. OMTs will be similar to regular treatments given by osteopaths in their daily practice. We hypothesize that OMT will improve the quality of ocular pursuit.
