Filter by:This project aims to clarify the mechanisms underpinning the acute analgesic effect of exercise in healthy humans-a phenomenon called "Exercise-induced hypoalgesia" (EIH). This study will characterize, using a within-subject cross-over design, the effects of a single session of aerobic exercise vs. a control condition on the sensitivity to stimuli preferentially activating mechano vs. heat-sensitive nociceptors of the skin vs. muscle, within vs. outside exercising body parts. The investigators hypothesize (1) that EIH will be greater in the exercise session compared to the control session, (2) that EIH will be greater at the local site compared to the remote site if local changes in nociceptive sensitivity contribute to EIH, and (3) that exercise will preferentially affect blunt pressure-induced pain if EIH involves specific changes in sensitivity of muscle nociceptors.
This project aims to address the impact of frailty on older adults, particularly its connection to cognitive impairments such as dementia. By identifying frailty in its early stages, interventions can be designed to slow down the progression of cognitive decline. To achieve this, the project plans to develop a reliable at-home monitoring system that can accurately track frailty in older adults with mild cognitive impairment or dementia. By utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as high-precision indoor positioning and home-installed sensors, referred to as zero-effort technologies (ZETs), the system will collect continuous sensor data, which will be analyzed to identify indicators of frailty.
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of LY3871801 when administered as multiple doses in Healthy Asian and Non-Asian Participants. The study will also evaluate the amount of LY3871801 that gets into the blood stream and how long it takes the body to get rid of it in these participants. The study will be conducted in two parts (A & B). The study will last up to approximately 24 days excluding the screening period.
The purpose of this study is to learn about: - how Zavegepant is changed and removed from the body after taken. - safety of Zavegepant. - the extent to which side effects can be tolerated after taking Zavegepant for the possible short-term treatment of migraine. This study is seeking participants who: - are healthy Chinese adults and includes participants who are between 18 to 55 years old. - have body mass index (BMI) of 18 to 30 kg/m^2. - have a total body weight of: - equal to or more than 50 kilograms (110 pounds) for males. - equal to or more than 45 kilograms (99 pounds) for females. - are non-smoker (no use of tobacco or nicotine products). All participants in this study will receive Zavegepant by nose, once at the study clinic. The experiences of the participants receiving the study medicine will be looked at. This will help see if the study medicine is safe. Participants will take part in this study for around 9 weeks. During this time, participants will have 2 study visits at the study clinic and 1 contact over the phone.
The purpose of this study is to assess what macitentan and its active metabolite (aprocitentan) does to the body after single dose administration of macitentan in Chinese healthy adult male participants.
The aim of this randomized controlled study, which includes pre-test and post-test, is to examine the perineum care education given to caregivers of patients with incontinence and being treated in a palliative care clinic. The basic question it aims to answer is: Does the perineum care training given to the relatives of patients treated in the palliative care clinic have an effect on the level of knowledge about perineum care? Participants will participate in a training activity on perineum care. Researchers will compare whether perineum care training given to relatives of palliative care patients is effective compared to the routine service operation, by using lecture, question-answer and presentation method.
This is a phase 1, 2-part, open-label, fixed-sequence study evaluating potential drug-drug interactions between gemfibrozil (part 1) or dabigatran etexilate (part 2) and camlipixant (BLU-5937) 50 mg tablet in healthy participants under fasting conditions.
This study aimed to investigate relationship between balance, core stabilization and foot posture in kickboxers. This descriptive study was planned to be conducted to 40 elite athletes as volunteer.
The main purpose of this study is to look at the amount of the study drug, peresolimab, that gets into the blood stream and how long it takes the body to get rid of it when given under the skin using test formulations versus reference formulation in healthy participants. The study will also evaluate the safety and tolerability of peresolimab and information about any side effects experienced will be collected. For each participant, the total duration of the study will be approximately up to 17 weeks, including screening.
The study is conducted in two parts (Part A and B). The main purpose of this study is to look at the amount of the LY3437943 that gets into the blood stream and how long it takes the body to get rid of it when given subcutaneously (SC, under the skin) in the upper arm and thigh compared to the abdomen in healthy participants with high body mass index (BMI) in Part A. In Part B, the participants receive LY3437943 intravenously (IV, through a vein) where the safety and tolerability of LY3437943 are evaluated and information about any side effects experienced will be collected. For each participant, the total duration of the study will be approximately up to 157 days and 99 days for Part A and Part B, respectively.
