Awareness of COVID-19 in Turkey

Start date: May 15, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Because COVID-19 is a new virus, it is believed that awareness assessment will inform and guide what steps should be taken and which groups should be targeted in terms of controlling the pandemic. According to our hypothesis, COVID-19 awareness of individuals in different age groups in the Turkish population also varies. There are controlling pratices based on scientific studies made during the outbreak, but there is no certainty as to how much these measures are known by our society. Based on these, the aim of our study was to investigate and compare the awareness of new Coronavirus (COVID-19) in different age groups across Turkey.

NCT ID: NCT04356001 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

NCT ID: NCT04353024 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Effects of Dimethyltryptamine in Healthy Subjects

DMT
Start date: June 18, 2021
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

N,N-dimethyltryptamine (DMT) is a naturally-occurring psychedelic substance widely used in recreational and spiritual settings. DMT can be used as a tool to induce an altered state of consciousness of interest in psychological and psychiatric research. DMT is rapidly metabolized by monoamine oxidase (MAO) A. Therefore, it is inactive when administered orally and has a very short duration of action when administered parenterally (<20 min). Therefore, an intravenous administration regime including a bolus and maintenance perfusion has been proposed to induce a stable and prolonged DMT experience allowing to study the psychological and autonomic acute effects of DMT. This administration allows to induce and end an altered state safely and quickly. The goal of the present study is to experimentally test different intravenous DMT administration schedules to investigate the subjective and autonomic effects of DMT in healthy subjects.

NCT ID: NCT04352998 Completed - Healthy Clinical Trials

Effects of a Multi-Ingredient Pre-Workout Supplement on Energy Expenditure During Running

Start date: May 16, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary purpose of this study was to examine the acute effects of one versus two doses of a multi-ingredient pre-workout supplement on energy expenditure during moderate-intensity treadmill running. In addition, our second aim was to investigate the responses of associated metabolic factors (i.e. substrate utilization, measures of gas exchange), perceived exertion, and resting cardiovascular variables with one and two doses of the pre-workout supplement.
