Filter by:This study is to investigate the effects of Fiasp®, a mealtime insulin, in patients with diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this study is to collect information about Fiasp®, which is prescribed to the participants by their doctors. Participants will administer Fiasp® as prescribed by their doctors. The study will last for about 6 months.
The aim of the study is to compare Diabetec® Fibre Grains (FIbre Grains) in a mixed meal setting with Jasmine rice. This is to see whether partial replacement of white rice with Fibre Grains can reduce postprandial blood glucose control.
This multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, parallel group study is being conducted to provide data on efficacy, safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics (PK) of multiple dose levels of PF-06882961 in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) inadequately controlled on metformin and/or diet and exercise. In addition, the study is intended to enable selection of efficacious doses for future clinical development of PF-06882961.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of a telephone motivational interviewing intervention by pharmacy students in enhancing adherence to angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI)/ angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB) (ACE/ARBs) among patients with diabetes and hypertension in a Medicare advantage plan.

This approach is consistent with evidence showing that individuals' interactions with health information and technology are "community embedded".
Foods in the human diet can affect the development of diseases over time, such as diabetes or heart disease. This is because the amount and types of foods in the diet eat can affect a person's weight, and because different foods are metabolised (processed) by the body in different ways. Scientists have also found that the bacteria in the human gut (the gut microbiome) affect their metabolism, weight and health and that, together with a person's diet and metabolism, could be used to predict appetite and how meals affect the levels of sugar (glucose) and fats (lipids) found in blood after eating. If blood sugar and fat are too high too often for too long, there is a greater chance of developing diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The gut microbiome is different in different people. Only 10-20% of the types of bacteria found in the human gut are found in everyone. This might mean that the best diet to prevent disease needs matching to a person's gut microbiome and it might be possible to find personalised foods or diets that will help reduce the chance of developing chronic disease as well as metabolic syndrome. The study investigators are recruiting volunteers aged 18-70 years to take part in a study that aims to answer the questions above. Participants will be asked to consume standardised meals on up to 8 days while wearing glucose monitors (Abbott Freestyle Libre) to measure their blood sugar levels. Participants will also be required to prick their fingers at regular intervals to collect small amounts of blood, and to record their appetite, food, physical activity and sleep using apps and wearable devices. They will be asked to collect a fecal and saliva sample before consuming the standardised meals, and to provide a fasted blood sample at the end of the study period.
ASL-ADE will evaluate the efficacy of an ASL-interpreted diabetes educational intervention to the end of improving the health literacy of the target population and addressing their disparate health outcomes.
SLGT2 therapy is safety used in heart failure (HF) patients with depressed left ventricle ejection fraction (LVEF) and diabetes mellitus (DM). These patients experience higher rate of ventricular arrhythmias (VA), that are a leading cause of cardiac arrest and mortality. However, these patients are treated by implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) and cardiac resynchronization with defbrillator devices (CRTd) implant. In this setting, the catheter ablation (CA) treatment has been used to reduce the ventricular arrhythmias and the ICD/CRTds' interventions, and to prevent mortality events in these' patients. On other hand, still a higher percentage of patients result as non responders to an ablative approach with higher acute and long term mortality rate. Therefore, in the present study in a population of HF patients (DM vs. non DM patients) affected by VA, authors will investigate the effects of CA on mortality rate at 12 months of follow up. In addition, authors would demonstrate the ameliorative effects of new hypoglycemic drugs in addition to CA in patients with DM. However, after CA the patients with DM will be randomly assigned to SGLT2 therapy vs. placebo. Indeed, study hypothesis will be that, a) DM vs. non DM patients might have higher mortality rate after CA; b) patients with DM treated by CA plus SLGT2 therapy vs. patients with DM treated by CA plus placebo might experience a lower rate of mortality at 1 year of follow-up.
People with Type 1 diabetes (T1DM), type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and healthy volunteers will undergo a hypoglycaemic clamp to to investigate the effect of hypoglycaemia on cardiovascular and inflammatory responses.
This pilot project will determine whether a diet culturally-adapted to Puerto Ricans can effectively decrease cardiometabolic risk for diabetes. This will help define a culturally-appropriate, feasible, and sustainable diet intervention aimed at reducing type 2 diabetes and obesity outcomes.
