There are about 9745 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Israel. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
A study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Human Insulin Inhalation Powder [also known as AIR® Inhaled Insulin][AIR® is a registered trademark of Alkermes,Inc.] in patients with Type 2 diabetes who are currently being treated with once daily insulin glargine injections. The present study is intended to determine if mealtime AIR® Insulin may be superior to once-daily insulin glargine injections.
In the United States, breast cancer is the most common cancer occurring in women (excluding cancers of the skin) and the second most common cause of death from cancer in women (after lung cancer). Approximately 182,800 new cases per year occur in the United States, causing 40,800 death cases per year. Breast cancer is the leading cause of death in women aged 44-50 years. The 5-year survival rate is 60% overall but is greater than 80% for early disease. If diagnosed at an early stage, breast cancer has an encouraging cure rate: up to 97% of women diagnosed with localized breast cancer will survive five years after their diagnosis. Even if the cancer is found at a more advanced stage, new therapies have enabled many people with breast cancer to experience the same quality of life as before their diagnosis. Breast ultrasound (US) is an extremely useful modality in the diagnosis of breast disease in the symptomatic clinic. It is routinely used as an adjunct to x-ray mammography and clinical examination and, with younger patients it may be the sole imaging modality. It has well-established value in differentiating between malignant and benign solid lesions in some cases, however, it cannot replace fine needle aspiration and core biopsy. Conventional breast US scanning is highly operator- dependent, requiring skillful probe manipulation and the mental ability to envisage 3-D tissue structure. Acquiring 3-D US data sets may be advantageous, making it easier to see and interpret 3-D structures, boundaries and interactions. CBUS™, Circular Breast Ultrasound Scanner is indicated to improve significantly breast images obtained by ultrasound systems. The CBUS™ system automatically acquires a complete breast image and constructs a high quality 3D image of the scanned breast. These images provide diagnostic information of the complete volume of breast tissue including blood flow in a single ultrasonic 3D image. In this clinical study, the CBUS™ Circular Breast Ultrasound Scanner will be used to automatically image the complete breast and provides a high quality 3D image of the scanned breast.
Femur fractures are a common injury in the Pediatric population. Despite their high incidence little do we know about the long term implications on the bones' length. Our main goal is to clarify this obscure issue by assessing the femoral and tibial length as determined by the fractures, measuring techniques and treatment modalities
The Lubo cervical collar is a device that simultaneously maintains cervical spine control and keeps an open airway in a non-invasive manner. The purpose of the device is to manage cervical spine control and airway protection in the trauma patient.
We hypothesize that reduced dose of enoxaparin in elderly patients will result in reduced proportion of patients with therapeutic anti Xa activity and reduced clinical efficacy.
Basal like breast carcinoma is a Her2, estrogen receptor (ER) progesterone receptor (PR) negative breast cancer. It is notable for the high level of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expression in this tumor subtype . Thus the investigators wanted to combine the use of anti EGFR therapy in the form of Erbitux (cetuximab) with the widely used weekly taxol chemotherapy for the treatment of these women. This is a small phase I/II study.
Post traumatic amputees with an experience of over 3 months of prosthesis use at home, without any known difficulty using the prosthesis and without stump pathology, using no assistive devices, will be examined in a 3 D computerized gait laboratory. Kinematic and kinetic parameters of gait will be obtained.
This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo- and active comparator-controlled phase 2/3 study of three dose levels of MBX-102 (200, 400, 600 mg) given orally to patients with type 2 diabetes receiving concomitant therapy with insulin. Eligible patients will be adults with type 2 diabetes who are taking intermediate- and/or long-acting insulin or pre-mixed (e.g., "70/30") insulin, or a combination of insulin and one or two non-TZD hypoglycemic agents including sulfonylurea, metformin, acrabose or Byetta, but who are poorly controlled on their existing therapy. Preference for enrollment will be given to patients on insulin monotherapy. Patients treated with a combination of insulin and other hypoglycemic agent(s) must be willing and able to discontinue and washout of the hypoglycemic agent(s) for the entire duration of the study (in toto, approximately 28 weeks). Patients who are taking fixed doses of a short-acting insulin (e.g., not a "sliding scale") in combination with intermediate-acting insulin may qualify for the study if both the patient and investigator are willing to either change to pre-mixed insulin (e.g., 70/30) or discontinue use of the short acting insulin for at least 26 weeks. Patients treated with a sliding scale of short-acting insulin will not be eligible for enrollment.
The objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of sodium bicarbonate compared with sodium chloride and oral N-acetylcysteine (NAC ) pretreatment for prevention of contrast nephropathy in patients with advanced renal disease undergoing cardiac catheterisation.
Delivery of twins or preterm infant is a very stressful episode to mothers. The purpose of this study is to characterize maternal psychological resources in dealing with this situation and compare it to mothers giving birth to singleton at term
