Optimizing Weight Loss. Can Continuous Glucose Monitoring Play a Role

OWL-CGM
Start date: April 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to determine the potential effectiveness of adding Continuous Glucose Monitoring to a personalized weight loss maintenance program in improving weight loss maintenance. The main questions it aims to answer are: - What is the feasibility and acceptability of wearing a continuous glucose monitoring device in people maintaining weight loss? - Is using continuous glucose monitoring will help to change the food and physical activity behavior in people maintaining weight loss? Participants will be randomized into control and intervention groups where the researchers will compare the effects of wearing continuous glucose monitoring devices on behavior change in both groups.

NCT ID: NCT05989126 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Diabetic Macular Edema (DME)

Study to Evaluate an 8 mg Aflibercept (EYLEA®) Prefilled Syringe (PFS)

Start date: April 15, 2024
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals developed a single-dose pre-filled syringe (PFS) to deliver 8 mg aflibercept. The PFS is a convenient device that contains the study medication that will be injected in your study eye. A PFS offers a sterile, single dose of study drug within the syringe; this eliminates the need for the retina specialist to prepare the injection syringe from a separate vial. This Phase IIIb study is focused on patients with diabetic macular edema (DME) and neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). The main aim of the study is to evaluate if the 8 mg aflibercept PFS allows for successful preparation and administration of 8 mg aflibercept by retina specialists. The study will also assess the safety of 8 mg aflibercept PFS use. Regeneron will use the information from the study to better understand if the PFS can be used safely and effectively by retina specialists to administer 8 mg aflibercept.

NCT ID: NCT06119854 Active, not recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

Brief Digital Intervention to Increase COVID-19 Vaccination Among Individuals With Anxiety or Depression

Start date: April 15, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a mis/disinformation ecosystem that promotes divergent views of vaccine efficacy, as well as the legitimacy of science and medicine. Individuals are confronted with vaccine-related information from a multitude of sources, posing a challenge to identifying inaccurate information. COVID-19 vaccine uptake is lower among people with anxiety and depression than in the general population, due in part to higher levels of vaccine hesitancy. The prevalence of anxiety and depressive symptoms among US adults increased significantly during the COVID pandemic and has remained elevated. Interventions capable of mitigating the impact of vaccine hesitancy and mis/disinformation among undervaccinated people with anxiety or depression are therefore an urgent priority. Emerging evidence suggests that reasons for vaccine hesitancy and the impact of conventional vaccination messaging differ between those with and without mental health symptoms. There may also be added challenges overcoming logistical barriers to vaccination for people with anxiety or depressive symptoms. The investigators aim to determine the effectiveness of two different brief digital intervention strategies compared with conventional public health messaging for increasing vaccine uptake in undervaccinated adults with and without anxiety or depressive symptoms. Attitudinal inoculation is a brief, scalable strategy that leverages the power of narrative, values, and emotion to strengthen resistance to mis/disinformation and reduce hesitancy. Though this approach has been shown to decrease COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among US adults, the extent to which this approach increases COVID-19 vaccination remains unknown. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based intervention for anxiety and depression. However, the efficacy of incorporating CBT-informed messaging in a vaccine promotion intervention has not been tested. The investigators hypothesize that both attitudinal inoculation and CBT-style communication will be more effective than conventional public health messaging to increase COVID-19 vaccination. The investigators also hypothesize that the CBT-informed intervention will be more effective than the attitudinal inoculation intervention for increasing COVID-19 vaccination among participants with symptoms of anxiety or depression.

NCT ID: NCT06200350 Active, not recruiting - Health Behavior Clinical Trials

Personalized Recommendation System for Sport Activities

Start date: April 15, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to test and compare the effects of a tailored algorithm recommendation of sport activities concreted in challenges to improve some critical performance dimensions. Q1: Improving participant performance is achieved by using personalized sports activity recommendation using an algorithm and tracking compliance using a decentralized application (dApp)? Q2: Are participants satisfied with the performance and simplicity of the dApp used? Participants will be asked to do specific activities recommended by the developed recommender system. The activities to be carried out will be conditioned by the profile obtained from each participant at the beginning of the intervention. They will consist of reinforcement activities for the dimensions with the lowest scores. Researchers will compare a experimental group and a control group to see if the dimensions assessed at the beginning of the intervention were improved.
