NCT ID: NCT04687644 Enrolling by invitation - Childbirth Problems Clinical Trials

Woman Centred Childbirth Care Training

WOCAT
Start date: December 26, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Woman centred childbirth care has become more meaningful and important in today's conditions. Although women-centred childbirth care is frequently mentioned in the literature, it is thought that there are no studies on this subject and it will be beneficial to train midwives on this subject. In this study, it is aimed to examine the effect of online education that will be given to midwives based on the Midwifery Model of Women-Centred Childbirth Care, on both patient-centred care competency and job satisfaction levels.

NCT ID: NCT06230302 Enrolling by invitation - Sarcopenia Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety of Kefir Whey Postbiotics

Start date: December 26, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Research staff conduct screening tests only on applicants who provide written consent and select research subjects who meet the selection criteria. Study subjects will visit for the first time within 4 weeks from the screening visit to reexamine the suitability of the study subject selection/exclusion criteria and then be enrolled in the human application test. The participants will be randomly assigned to the kefir lactic acid bacteria-derived whey post-biotics group and the placebo group for the first time. Complete the baseline evaluation by the date of visit. Afterwards, the participants will consume whey postbiotics derived from kefir lactic acid bacteria and a placebo product twice a day, 3g per time, for 12 weeks, and visit the institution a total of four times to perform a grip strength test, DXA. This survey will be conducted at Hanyang University Hospital. Research staff may conduct follow-up observations of study subjects as needed after final consumption of the kefir lactic acid bacteria-derived whey postbiotic group and placebo products or after early termination.

NCT ID: NCT05171829 Enrolling by invitation - Clinical trials for Sars-CoV-2 Infection

An Educational Self-tracking Tool for Identification of SARS-CoV-2 Risk Transmission

TrackU
Start date: December 27, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

One way to empower a community, in epidemic control issues, is to know the first-hand screening tools. There are no evaluations of these home-use tools from the perspective of patient and citizen empowerment and participation. The main objective of this study is to analyze whether a self-tracking and self-tracing tool, developed in a participatory way, increases the risk identification of the disease and the empowerment in terms of risk management of transmission by the participants.

NCT ID: NCT06186245 Enrolling by invitation - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

Starvation in the Treatment of Diabetic Ketoacidosis

Start date: December 27, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state (HHS) are common, but serious metabolic disorders are often encountered in intensive care. In the intensive care setting, it is common to withhold food from patients during treatment of DKA. However, there is no evidence or current literature supporting this practice. The following proposed research investigates the initiation of an early diet versus withholding food during the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.

NCT ID: NCT04684615 Enrolling by invitation - Depression Clinical Trials

Mental Health Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Amish and Mennonite Participants in AMBiGen

Start date: December 28, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

People have had to make a lot of changes to their lives due to the COVID-19 health crisis. Most experts agree that social distancing and other safety measures have taken a toll on people s mental health. Amish and Mennonite communities often have large families. They may have limited access to health care. Their lifestyle is based on interaction and group events rather than technology. So people in Amish and Mennonite communities may experience the pandemic in their own special ways. Objective: To describe the relationship between stress related to the pandemic and self-rated measures of mental health symptoms and distress among Amish and Mennonite people with bipolar disorder and related conditions, and their family members. Eligibility: Adults ages 18 and older who are taking part in the NIMH AMBiGen study (80-M-0083). Design: Participants will be mailed 4 surveys. One survey will ask about depression symptoms. One survey will ask about mania symptoms. One survey will assess a broad range of psychological problems. One survey will assess the impact of COVID-19 on their mental health. They will fill out the surveys 4 times over 24 months. The surveys will not include participants names, just codes. This will help protect privacy. Data collected in 80-M-0083 will be used. This includes data about participants genes, medical conditions, and assessments. Participants will get an 800 number they can call to speak to the research team. They can also write to the team if they prefer. Participants who wish will get referrals for mental health services. Participation will last up to 24 months. There will be an option for recontact in the future.

NCT ID: NCT05645536 Enrolling by invitation - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Safety Extension Study for Subjects With HR+, HER2- Breast Cancer for Subjects Who Have Completed the OVELIA Study

Start date: December 28, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

TOL2506A (OVELIA) is a Phase 3, single arm, open-label study evaluating the effectiveness of TOL2506 in suppressing ovarian function in premenopausal women with HR+, HER2-negative breast cancer and men with HR+ breast cancer. The TOL2506A-EXT study described here is a safety extension study to assess and collect long-term data on the ongoing safety and tolerability of TOL2506 in combination with tamoxifen or an AI for up to 4 years.

NCT ID: NCT05657288 Enrolling by invitation - Hypoxia Clinical Trials

SpO2 Comparison Between Commercial Smartwatch and Medical-grade Pulse Oximeter During Hypoxia

HYPOWATCH
Start date: December 28, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the project is to experimentally compare SpO2 measured on a wrist by commercial Smartwach and on a finger measured by a medical-grade pulse oximeter in healthy humans during gradual desaturation in the range of 60-100% SpO2 and simultaneously during a step change from the hypoxic phase to the recovery phase (return to physiological values).

NCT ID: NCT05686837 Enrolling by invitation - Cystic Fibrosis Clinical Trials

Prospective Healthcare-Associated Links in Transmission of Nontuberculous Mycobacteria

pHALT NTM
Start date: December 28, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Pulmonary NTM infection is recognized as one of the most challenging infections to treat among people with cystic fibrosis (PwCF), notable for prolonged treatment courses and often poor response to therapy. Positive cultures for NTM occur in about 20% of children and adults with cystic fibrosis (CF). However, the source of NTM infection, modes of transmission, and exposure risks are poorly understood. It is thought that NTM is primarily acquired from environmental sites including soil and water as well as water supply systems to homes, hospitals, and clinics and from aerosols generated by flowing water from taps, showers, and fountains. Nonetheless, no direct molecular link has been established between environmental NTM and respiratory CF NTM. Healthcare-associated transmission of NTM among CF patients has been suspected and is of growing concern for CF Centers worldwide. Widespread global transmission of NTM, potentially via person-to-person transmission of fomites and aerosols has been reported. The parent HALT NTM study developed and published a standardized epidemiologic outbreak toolkit for investigation of healthcare-associated NTM outbreaks in CF Care Centers. We are now moving to a prospective investigation, with the long-term goal of real-time early identification and mitigation of potential NTM outbreak investigations coupled with healthcare environmental sampling and home of residence watershed analysis of PwCF identified as belonging to an NTM cluster and receiving care at a single CF Care Center.
