At present, there is no empirical data that specifies the likely prevalence of purpose in life disruption among various clinical populations. Between one-third and one-half of cancer survivors report some degree of existential distress during or after their treatment, but these findings are not specific to the domain of purpose in life. To address the aforementioned gap, we propose to conduct a survey study to determine the prevalence of purpose disruption in two clinical populations and determine if the prevalence of purpose disruption in these populations is different from that of a normative population.
Randomized Study of the Clinical Efficacy and Safety of Filgrastine® in Patients with Breast Cancer Treated with Myelotoxic Chemotherapy. Primary Objective: to evaluate the activity and safety of Filgrastine® in Brazilian patients undergoing adjuvant treatment for breast cancer, with the frequency of grade 4 neutropenia in the first cycle of chemotherapy as the primary endpoint. Secondary Objectives: - Frequency of febrile neutropenia during treatment; - Frequency of neutropenia of any degree in the first cycle; - Frequency of hospitalization during treatment; - Duration of grade 4 neutropenia in the first treatment cycle; - Toxicity during treatment; - Immunogenicity throughout treatment. All endpoints will be descriptively analyzed in both groups of patients. Study design Randomized (2:1), open-label, multicenter study. Chemotherapy will be given on the first day of each cycle of treatment, for a maximum of four to eight cycles, depending on the regimen, patients whose chemotherapy treatment is prolonged beyond this period being withdrawn from the study. Patients will be evaluated through laboratory tests, including complete blood count, biochemistry and anti-filgrastim antibodies.
This research is a continuation of a usability study with the MARVIN chatbot. The investigators aim to adapt the MARVIN chatbot to open it to other health domains (e.g. breast cancer) and populations (e.g. pharmacists). Therefore, this protocol constitutes a master research protocol that will englobe different research projects with individual chatbots. The investigators adopt an adaptive platform trial design, which will allow flexibility in handling multiple interventions adapted to different populations while retaining the characteristics of a platform trial design allowing early withdrawal of ineffective trial arms based on interim data (implementation outcomes) and introduction of new trial arms.
This clinical trial evaluates whether home-based respiratory muscle training is useful for minimizing side effects in patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Over-activation of the nervous system during breast cancer treatment can result in heart- and lung-related side effects which have the potential to reduce a patient's quality of life. Aerobic exercise can help prevent the development of these side effects. However, engaging in regular aerobic exercise may be difficult for breast cancer patients who are actively undergoing treatment. Respiratory muscle training (RMT) involves a series of breathing and other exercises that are performed to improve the function of the respiratory muscles through resistance and endurance training. Home-based RMT may represent a more feasible approach for reducing side effects in patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
The purpose of this study is to characterize the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of IDE161.
The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate efficacy and safety of AI-assisted radiotherapy contouring software in CT images for thoracic organs at risk. After screening, qualified participants' thoracic CT images will be anonymized and randomized to two sequences, one with independent investigator contouring of thoracic organs at risk, followed by washout period and software-assisted contouring, and the other in reverse sequence. The washout period lasts for at least 4 weeks. Investigators will not only contour organs at risk in their own center, but also organs in the previous center. The anonymized images will be contoured by independent expert team as the golden standard. The experimental group refers to software-assisted contouring, while the control group refers to independent investigator contouring. Judged by the golden standard, the two groups will be compared to evaluate efficacy and safety of software-assisted contouring of thoracic organs at risk.
The goal of this study is to increase MRI utilization among women with extremely dense breasts. The main question it seeks to answer is whether nudging of the provider, patient, or both increases the uptake of MRI among this group, and whether this effect differs between Black and White women.
