Filter by:Breast-conserving surgery followed by re-irradiation with partial breast irradiation (rPBI) has recently been found to be a safe alternative to mastectomy for women who have undergone prior whole breast radiation. By reducing the volume of tissue receiving radiation, rPBI has been associated with less toxicity and improved cosmetic outcomes. For many women with early stage breast cancer, shorter 1-week (5-fraction) courses of breast radiation (ultra-fractionation) have been found to be equivalent to longer fractionation schedules in the upfront treatment setting. These 1-week schedules are more convenient for patients, with fewer treatments and shorter overall treatment time. The investigators hypothesize that they can accrue sufficient patient with rPBI who will be treated using 26 Gray(Gy) in 5 daily fractions over 1-week. Planned interim analysis after the 15 recruited patients for early toxicity evaluation with stopping rule for unacceptable toxicity.
This study will collect real-world clinical and patient reported outcomes (PRO) and diary data from eligible patients with documented Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2+) [globally] or HER2-low [North America only] in routine clinical practice.
This study will use an adjuvant radiation therapy regimen called APBI (accelerated partial breast irradiation). APBI is a treatment option available to women considered to have an early stage, low-risk breast cancer. The standard external beam-based APBI treatment delivers treatments every other day for five treatments, over ten calendar days. The APBI in this study is modified and will deliver five once daily treatments over consecutive treatment days, with a slightly lower dose of radiation each day as compared to the standard external beam-based APBI treatment.
The purpose of this study to gather information about changes in the bones after stopping treatment with aromatase inhibitor/AI and denosumab. The study team will collect information from 5 standard clinic visits over the course of 24 months. The information will include information about participant health assessments, blood test results, and imaging results. After 24 months, participation in this study will be complete.
Cohort, interventional, multicenter, non-randomized study to compare the performance of the ICG fluorescence technique (ICG) alone to the combined ICG + isotopic technique in the detection of sentinel node. Comparison of the performances of two techniques used in current practice, without modification of the patients' care plan. Indeed, all patients receive both techniques, but the protocol allows to standardize the collection of the performances of each of the two techniques in order to compare them.
The Carevive registry collects patient characteristics, patient symptoms, and treatment experience data from patients receiving cancer treatment for breast, lung, GI or multiple myeloma. For this study, a core set of variables is collected on each patient in the Carevive platform. Patients will complete a baseline survey in person using a secured device or remotely using their own electronic device in a location of their choice. Weekly electronic Patient Reported Outcome surveys are collected from the patients using the Carevive platform for a minimum of 12 weeks. Patients may continue weekly surveys as long as they are receiving treatment.
REBECCA-1 is an observational study. Clinical research is undergoing a revolutionary change. The use of electronic patient records (EHR), digital registers, smartphones etc will create "real-world data" (RWD) that provides great opportunities for advancing clinical research, but so far this opportunity has been little exploited. The REBECCA -1 study will observe and monitor fatigue in breast cancer survivors. Investigators will use self reported questionnaires (PROM-data), blood tests and objective regulations like the REBECCCA -1 smart watch that will register amount of steps every day, leaving the house, visiting friends, cafes etc. There will be three observational arms; 1.high fatigue, 2. low fatigue and 3. a healthy control arm. After the patients have finished their treatment, they will receive the REBECCA smart watch, a REBECCA app on the smart phone and a REBECCA plus device on their computer, The next offend are also invited to report their evaluation through the same apps. The observational time will be 1 year and comparison between the subjective PROM data , the objective REBECCA watch and the biological samples will be obtained.
This research study will evaluate the use of, and participants experience with, a new device called Addinex that safely stores and dispenses opioid medication. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of the Addinex device in cancer patients undergoing cancer-related surgery that require pain control with opioids after the surgery. Participants will be asked to answer questions about their medical history and background, fill out questionnaires, use a mobile application associated with the device, and undergo a phone interview one month after stopping use of the device. This study aims to find out how participants like using the Addinex device as opposed to a traditional pill bottle. Results of this study will help determine if the Addinex device could be useful to patients in the future after surgeries, as opposed to typical pill bottles.
Until now, patients receiving doxorubicin chemotherapy should use only the cumulative dose related to known cardiotoxicity, or if cardiotoxicity occurs below the known cumulative dose, use of doxorubicin as chemotherapy should be stopped. In this study, in patients with normal heart function receiving doxorubicin chemotherapy, extracorporeal shock wave therapy was performed 3 times a week during chemotherapy, and 1 cycle of extracorporeal shock wave therapy was performed (every 6 weeks) every 2 cycles of chemotherapy. Echocardiography should be performed at baseline and every 4 cycles of chemotherapy, and follow-up 3 months after chemotherapy is completed to compare the incidence of cardiomyopathy caused by chemotherapy between the two groups.
The purpose of this study is to establish a prospective, single-center platform research based on clinical subtypes to explore precision neoadjuvant therapy in patients with operable breast cancer who met the indications for neoadjuvant chemotherapy and by the update of basic translational research in the center, especially the refinement of typing, the discovery of new targets and the development of novel targeted drugs, verified the effectiveness of new targeted drugs in neoadjuvant therapy.
