The Effect of Laughter and Mindfulness Therapy Applications on Women With Breast Cancer Receiving Chemotherapy: Randomized Controlled Study

Breast cancer is defined as the most common type of cancer that causes death among women (Siegel et al. 2019). It constitutes 24% of cancers and 15% of cancer-related deaths in women (T.R. Ministry of Health 2020). According to statistics made towards the end of 2020, there are 7.8 million women in the world who were diagnosed with breast cancer in the last 5 years and are alive. It is estimated that one in every 8 women will develop breast cancer in developed countries (WHO 2021). The Ministry of Health reported the frequency of breast cancer in our country as 45.6/100,000 in women in 2018. The incidence of breast cancer is reported to be higher, especially in the 45-54 age range (TC Ministry of Health 2020). Chemotherapy is one of the most frequently preferred treatment methods in the treatment of breast cancer and can cause serious side effects such as pain, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, mouth sores, fatigue, insomnia, anxiety and depression, and may lead to a deterioration in the quality of life of patients (Waks and Winer 2019, Samami et al. 2021, Sajadian et al. 2017, McFarland et al. 2018, Hamer et al. 2017). In the international and national literature, no study has been found comparing the effects of laughter and mindfulness therapy on the anxiety, depression, quality of life and spiritual well-being experienced by breast cancer patients. In this study, it is planned to investigate the effects of laughter and mindfulness therapy applications on the anxiety, depression, quality of life and spiritual well-being levels of women with breast cancer receiving chemotherapy.

A Study of TQB2102 for Injection in Patients With Recurrent/Metastatic Breast Cancer

TQB2102 is an antibody-drug conjugate comprised of a humanised antibody against Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2), an enzyme-cleavable linker, and a topoisomerase I inhibitor payload, which combine the ability of antibodies to specifically target tumour cells with the highly potent killing activity of drugs with payloads too toxic for systemic administration. This is a Phase 1/Phase 2 study to evaluate the effectiveness, safety, pharmacokinetics (PK) and anti-drug antibody (ADA) of TQB2102 for injection in subjects with HER2-expressing relapsed/metastatic breast cancer.

Breast radiation treatment is burdened by acute and chronic toxicities, in most cases mild. However, considering the excellent life expectancy of patients with breast cancer, maintaining a low toxicity profile is of primary importance in order to guarantee a satisfactory quality of life. The definition of the molecular and genetic variables related to radiotoxicity and their integration into predictive molecular signatures may allow the risk of toxicity to be individualized. This would provide the clinician with a useful tool in order to personalize the radiation treatment, thus being able to choose the best technique or schedule for each patient.

Restore-B: A Trial Comparing Prepectoral Implant-based Breast Reconstruction With and Without Mesh

The goal of this feasibility randomised controlled clinical trial (RCT) is to compare mesh-assisted to no-mesh pre-pectoral implant based immediate breast reconstruction in women undergoing mastectomy for treatment of breast cancer or for risk reduction of an inherited breast cancer risk. The main questions it aims to answer are: - To determine the feasibility of a definitive RCT comparing the clinical and cost- effectiveness of no- mesh versus mesh- assisted pre-pectoral breast reconstruction. - To determine if it is possible to collect data to inform a future economic analysis on the use of mesh in breast reconstruction. Participants will be randomly allocated to have their breast reconstruction either with the use of mesh or without the use of mesh prior to the start of the operation. Participants will be blinded to their allocation until day 90 post operatively. Participants will be asked to have medical photography and to complete a short quality of life questionnaire before and after surgery at 90 days prior to finding out their allocation.

Mobile Health for Adherence in Breast Cancer Patients

This clinical trial compares the use of the connected customized treatment platform (CONCURxP), consisting of using a medication monitoring device called WiseBag along with text message reminders for missed or extra medication events, to enhanced usual care (EUC), where patients only use the WiseBag, to monitor medication adherence in patients with metastatic breast cancer who are taking a CKD4/6 inhibitor. To ensure CDK4/6 inhibitors achieve their full clinical benefit, patients need to take them as prescribed, following a complex treatment schedule. Forgetfulness was the most common reason reported for medication non adherence. Using the WiseBag along with CONCURxP or enhanced usual care may improve medication adherence in patients with metastatic breast cancer who are taking a CKD4/6 inhibitor.

Use of an Ultra-rapid BRCA1/2 Status Screening Test in Theranostic Indication: Performance and Interest for Patients and Practitioners

The time taken to obtain the results of germline mutations in BRCA1 and BRCA2 has become a major issue in adapting the therapeutic management of patients, particularly those with breast cancer. The time taken to obtain the results of BRCA1/2 tests in routine laboratories with a view to personalised treatment can range from a few weeks to a few months. The waiting time required to obtain results is likely to cause stress and anxiety in cancer patients. The investigators hypothesise that ultra-rapid testing can reduce anxiety about patients' genetic status and improve their mental well-being. The main objective of this project is to compare the results obtained with an ultra-fast kit developed by O.N.T with those obtained with the current gold standard, NGS sequencing.
