NCT ID: NCT05882396 Not yet recruiting - Colorectal Cancer Clinical Trials

Rood's Approach and Oxaliplatin-induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Colorectal Cancer Patients

Start date: June 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Oxaliplatin-induced chronic peripheral neuropathy is of major concern to oncologists and patients as it has been shown to affect patients' health-related quality of life. Although a number of interventions have been implicated, none of them can be recommended for clinical use. This therapeutic failure reflects a poor understanding of the real mechanism of oxaliplatin-induced neuropathy. However, oxidative stress is identified to be one of the main biomolecular dysfunctions in this neuropathy. Rood's approach is a neurophysiological approach that is based on reflexes of the central nervous system in which the sensory stimulation provides desired muscular response and was specially designed for patients with motor control problems. It was developed by Margeret Rood in 1940. According to Rood, sensory stimulation can activate or deactivate the receptor by facilitation or inhibition, which makes it possible to get the desired muscular response.

NCT ID: NCT05870124 Recruiting - Chronic Pain Clinical Trials

Clinical Study of a Micro-Implantable Pulse Generator for the Treatment of Peripheral Neuropathic Pain (COMFORT 2)

COMFORT 2
Start date: April 28, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This post market study is being conducted to document the comparative effectiveness and safety of peripheral nerve stimulation plus conventional medical management versus conventional medical management alone in the treatment of chronic, intractable peripheral neuralgia of post-traumatic or postsurgical origin. This is a prospective, minimal risk, multi-center, randomized control trial.

NCT ID: NCT05852496 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Vit D and Peripheral Neuropathy in Taxane Naive Patients

Start date: July 1, 2023
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate the efficacy of vit D supplement in cancer patients which receive taxane drugs with vit D deficiency and complaining from Peripheral neuropathy

NCT ID: NCT05821127 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Effect of Neurodynamic Exercises and Education Program Applied With Virtual Reality Assisted Telerehabilitation Method in Conservative Treatment of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Start date: April 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim in this prospective, randomized and controlled, single-blind study; In the conservative treatment of patients diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, to investigate the effects of neurodynamic exercises that applied with nonimmersive virtual reality technology and patient education program presented by the telerehabilitation method on pain-numbness, functional status and quality of life, to compare the effects of neurodynamic exercises that applied with traditional methods and standard education given to patients in outpatient clinic conditions on the same parameters.

NCT ID: NCT05802511 Completed - Neuropathic Pain Clinical Trials

Study of Exablate Model 4000 Type 1.0/1.1 Following the Treatment of Neuropathic Pain

Start date: February 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The Exablate 4000 obtained CE Mark for the treatment of Neuropathic Pain in December 2012. The purpose of this post market study is to obtain real world data on the safety and performance of the Exablate treatment for neuropathic pain. The objective of this study is to capture the change in pain intensity, physical/emotional function, and pain impact for patients diagnosed with neuropathic pain who undergo an Exablate treatment.

NCT ID: NCT05740553 Terminated - Stroke Clinical Trials

Automated Stereognosis to Treat Loss of Tactile Function After Brain Injury

ReTrieve
Start date: November 15, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Researchers aim to determine whether the ReTrieve system for tactile training can improve tactile function (sense of touch) in the hand after brain injury when used at home for 6 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT05689359 Withdrawn - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Hydroxychloroquine to Prevent CIPN

Start date: June 2024
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The study is being done to research if hydroxychloroquine can prevent chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy. Certain chemotherapy drugs, like paclitaxel, are known to cause neuropathy which can impact quality of life. Currently, there are no options for preventing peripheral neuropathy. In addition, there are no useful methods to assess peripheral nerve damage. This study will also explore using a study MRI of patients' feet prior to starting chemotherapy and after they have completed chemotherapy to see if there is any difference in their nerve structure.

NCT ID: NCT05673746 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Peripheral Neuropathy

Acupuncture in Chemotherapy-induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Women With Breast Cancer

Acu-CIPN
Start date: September 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The main purpose of this study is to define whether acupuncture in addition to the treatment of physician choice as per standard of care leads to a greater decrease of neuropathic pain as perceived by women with breast cancer who suffer from chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy and neuropathic pain of hands and foots will be assessed by using a Number Rate Scale (NRS scale) and data will be compared between standard of care treatment group and acupuncture in addition to standard of care treatment group.

NCT ID: NCT05647083 Completed - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

The Effect of Massage on Diabetic Parameters

Start date: September 9, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This research aims to investigate the effect of massage on diabetic foot risk, HbA1c and physiological parameters in individuals with type 2 diabetes. This randomized controlled experimental design will be carried out in Bolu Izzet Baysal State Hospital Köroğlu Unit Internal Medicine Polyclinic and Internal Medicine Service. According to power analysis, the minimum sample size was determined as 60 people, 30 of which were in the intervention group and 30 in the control group. Data collection tools include "Peripheral Neuropathy Sign and Symptom Score", "Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI)", "Glycemic Control Assessment (HbA1c)", "Physiological Parameters (blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen saturation)", "Inlow's 60-second Diabetic Food Screen". A total of 24 massage sessions will be applied to the intervention group, 2 times a week during the 12-week working period. Participants in the control group will continue their medical treatment protocols and massage will not be applied.
