HELI is a multicenter, randomised controlled trial in two Dutch research centres (Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging, Nijmegen, and the department of Human Nutrition & Health at Wageningen University) among 104 older adults aged 60-75 years who are at risk for cognitive decline with an intervention duration of 26 weeks (roughly 6 months). Participants are randomized in a 1:1 ratio to a multidomain lifestyle intervention characterized by group-sessions and guidance (high-intensity intervention group) versus online access to general lifestyle-related health information in the form of biweekly leaflets (low-intensity intervention group).

A Health Promotion Intervention for Vulnerable School

The BeE-school (Be Empowered in school) is a cluster-randomised trial that addresses the complexity of the social challenge (vulnerable school-age children). It aims to analyse the effectiveness of the intervention program, based on the promotion of health literacy and lifestyles, specifically on children's: 1-health literacy and infodemic resilience (Aim 1); 2- lifestyles (e.g. dietary intake, 24hmovement behaviour) (Aim 2); 3-overweight and obesity (Aim 3); 4-blood pressure (Aim 4). The project converges multiple disciplines (e.g. public health, informatics, law) and researchers with proven expertise in these fields to provide comprehensive and innovative answers. 478 children (6 schools) aged 6-12years old will participate in this cluster-randomised trial, having schools as the unit of randomisation, assigned into intervention (239-3schools) and the control arm (239 - 3 schools). This project will perform a social listening (online and offline) and bottom-up approach to tackling NCDs, focusing on health literacy and health promotion and recognising children's systems in daily life (e.g. family, teachers). Stakeholders' involvement goes far beyond a merely consultative approach; the researchers are committed to a genuine codevelopment process. Data collection includes sociodemographics, health literacy and infodemic resilience, dietary intake and children's 24-h movement behaviour (e.g. accelerometry), anthropometry (e.g. weight, height and waist circumference) and blood pressure. Data collection will occur at baseline and after the intervention (follow-up, 6 months after the beginning of the intervention). Expected outputs and outcomes include the creation of a model for characterising NCDs and health topics based on artificial intelligence techniques (e.g. deep learning, and social network analysis methods); improved health literacy and infodemic resilience of children, families and teachers; enhanced children's lifestyles (e.g. dietary intake, 24-h movement behaviour); reduction of NCDs' physical risk factors (e.g. overweight, raised blood pressure); feasible intervention program about health promotion and NCDs' prevention for school-aged children with vulnerabilities, and advocacy- policies about health promotion and NCDs' prevention.

Quantitative study: The main objective is to analyze whether personal skills related to behaviours are independently associated with the incidence of morbidity. Study with quantitative and qualitative methodology. Multicenter project (10 teams) for the creation of a cohort of 3083 people aged 35 to 74 years of 9 Autonomous Communities (AACC). The personal variables that will be evaluated are: self-efficacy, activation, health literacy, resilience, locus of control and personality traits. Socio-demographic covariates, social capital and community health assets will be recorded. As a secondary objective, it will be analyzed whether personal skills are independently associated with lower all cause mortality, better adoption of healthy lifestyles, higher quality of life and less utilization of health services in follow-up. A physical examination, a blood analytical and a cognitive evaluation will be carried out. The incidence of morbidity will be analyzed with a Cox model for each of the six independent variables (objective 1); and mortality from all causes and from the other dependent variables (objective 2). The models will be adjusted by the indicated covariables. The possible heterogeneity between (AACC) will be estimated by introducing random effects into the model. Qualitative study: To deepen in the opinions and experiences of the population on the relationship between personal skills with their perception of health, their lifestyles and their quality of life. The research will be carried out from a phenomenological perspective. The number of discussion groups needed to reach the saturation of speeches will be made. There will be an analysis of thematic content that will be triangulated between members of the research team. The meanings will be interpreted and an explanatory framework will be created with the contributions of each type of informant.

The ISIS Study will look at the health habits of couples who are planning their first pregnancy, and then attempt to measure the effect these habits have on the couple's fertility. The ISIS Study hopes to clarify the link between lifestyle and fertility, and believes that information gained in this project may help future couples in their attempts to conceive.
