The purpose of this platform study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), and preliminary antitumor activity of novel RAS(ON) inhibitors combined with Standard(s) of Care (SOC) or with novel agents. The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about the effectiveness of a music-based intervention as a bereavement strategy for individuals who are a part of the Loss of Spouse/Life Partner Grief Support Group at HopeHealth, a healthcare organization in Providence, Rhode Island that specializes in home care, hospice care, palliative care, and grief support. The main question it ams to answer is: - Will the experience of creating a musical playlist help individuals in bereavement process their grief more effectively? Participants will undergo the following main tasks: - A baseline pre-assessment survey that asks about the role of music in the participant's and their partner's life, as well as how music has helped participants with their grief. - A 75-minute Zoom session with the study investigator which includes a conversation about the participant's loved one and grief journey. This Zoom session serves to find themes and emotions in the participant's grief journey which will be as foundations for musical playlists. - Participants will create their own musical playlist based on guidance from the study investigator. - A post-assessment survey that asks participants to reflect on the experience of creating a playlist. This survey also examines if music plays a new role in the participant's life.

The purpose of this study is to describe the acute cardiometabolic effects of a cinema-style meal rich in refined sugar, total carbohydrate, and moderate in fat (i.e., soda, popcorn, candy).
The goal of this clinical trial is to test an app-based just-in-time-adaptive intervention (JITAI). The intervention aims to improve child and family mental health. A JITAI provides in-the-moment feedback to coach families. The questions it tests are if the app will improve mental health and family functioning. Participants will download an app on their phone and complete JITAI sessions. Researchers will compare intervention and control groups to see if the app improves mental health.
The objective of this study is to demonstrate the clinical utility of I-124 PET/CT imaging and dosimetry in patients with thyroid cancer including 1) Evaluation of extent (volume and pattern) of remnant tissue in post total thyroidectomy setting and distinction of nodal metastases vs remnant tissue for determination of indication for RAI ablation, 2) Evaluation of response to RAI remnant ablation, 3) Evaluation for suspected occult recurrent/metastatic disease, 4) Evaluation of extent of disease in patients with known metastatic disease and 5) Evaluation of RAI avidity of recurrent/metastatic thyroid cancer and response to treatment with thyroid kinase inhibitors (TKI). Patients who underwent total thyroidectomy for thyroid cancers are studied. Patients who are newly diagnosed, as well as those who have known or suspected to have recurrent or metastatic disease are eligible. Patients receiving TKI treatment are eligible for evaluation prior to and after the treatment. The patients who are considered for TKI/MAPK treatments undergo pre and post treatment with clinically determined oncoprotein/TKR therapeutic agent(s), including multi-TKI, selective BRAF, MEK, PI3K or ERK inhibitors or combination treatments.
Dry Eye Disease (DED) is a condition where the tear film of the eye becomes unstable and along with ocular surface inflammation and damage leads to inadequate tear production and eye lubrication. This study will evaluate Next Generation Emulsion Preservative Free Eye Drops (NGE-UD) in adult participants with dry eye symptoms and who are high digital device users. NGE-UD is an over-the-counter (OTC) monograph drug indicated for the temporary relief of symptoms of eye dryness. Participants will administer 1 drop of NGE-UD on Day 1 for the acute phase of the study, after Day 1 participants will administer 1-2 eye drops in each eye at least twice a day but as much as needed through Day 15. Around 50 adult participants will be enrolled at one site in the United States. There is expected to be no additional burden for participants in this trial. Study visits may be conducted on-site as per standard of care.
This is a prospective clinical trial designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of hypofractionated regional nodal irradiation in breast cancer patients. After enrollment, participants will be stratified into 2 Groups based on the extent of axillary surgery. Participants will complete activities and assessments at baseline, and after completion of treatment at 1-2 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 year, and 3 years following completion of treatment.
This study seeks to develop and test an internet video series aimed at helping individuals reduce cigarette smoking. Participants (daily smokers) will be asked to watch a series of six videos (approximately 6.5 minutes each) which cover various empirically-supported smoking cessation strategies and tools. Examples of strategies included in the videos include noticing smoking cues and consequences and relaxation training. Participants' demographic information, motivation to change, reactions to the video series alliance with video therapist, and confidence in avoiding smoking will all be measured. Additionally, participants will be asked to report their smoking behavior at study baseline and follow-up.
Individuals with spinal cord injury have heart attacks and strokes more frequently, and much earlier in life. People with spinal cord injuries develop plaque in vessels much faster, and the reasons why are unclear. Doctors generally attributed the increased risk with weight gain and developing diabetes, but many studies have shown that even without these common factors, plaque in vessels is developing more often and faster. Endothelial cells are a single layer of cells that line all vessels in the body and plays an important role in vessel health. Damage to endothelial cells is known to lead to heart attacks and strokes. Past studies on endothelial cells of people with spinal cord injury have been unclear. The investigators have new data that these cells are unhealthy after spinal cord injury a measurement. This includes measuring endothelial health by directly altering its function using a catheter in the arm and measuring small particles in blood called endothelial microvesicles. If the project is successful, the investigators will learn important information on the health of endothelial cells after spinal cord injury. The investigators will also be able to use these markers of endothelial cell function to create treatments to improve vessel health and prevent heart attacks and strokes later in life in people with spinal cord injury.
The investigators are studying the dangers that farmworkers face while working in the fields and at home. The investigators goals are: 1. Measure how much heat and chemicals farmworkers in Imperial County are exposed to. The investigators will ask the participants to wear a special belt under their clothes during work to measure heat. The investigators will also put two small temperature monitors in the participant's home for a day. The investigators will collect a urine sample to check hydration, and also measure the participants height, weight, blood pressure, and some blood markers for diseases using a simple finger-prick test. To measure chemicals, the investigators will give the participants a wristband to wear for a week and hang another in the participants home. The investigators will also collect dust from each participant's home with a vacuum. Then, the investigators will analyze everything at San Diego State University. After collecting samples, a trained community health worker will ask the participants a few questions about their work, lifestyle, health symptoms, and any hazards they face. The investigators will meet the participants twice at their homes to distribute the tools which will later be collected. Once the tools are collected, the investigators will have the chance to follow up with the participants if they have any questions. 2. Provide help to lower heat and chemical exposure with the help of community health workers. 3. Measure heat and chemicals again using the same methods to see if the project made a difference. 4. Talk to participants about what they liked and how the investigators can make future projects better.
