NCT ID: NCT06377007 Recruiting - Cataract Clinical Trials

Refractive Outcomes and Ocular Biometry of Two Swept-Source Optical Coherence Tomography-Based Biometers With Segmental or Equivalent Refractive Indices (ORION): A Non-Inferiority Randomized Clinical Trials

ORION
Start date: January 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Cataract surgery represents a common surgical intervention, encompassing the extraction of the opaque natural crystalline lens, followed by the substitution with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). To ascertain an IOL possessing optimal power, antecedent to the surgery, preoperative evaluations are conducted through the utilization of a biometric devices. Diverse categories of these instruments are accessible, each harnessing distinct optical methodologies or mathematical algorithms to ascertain the most fitting IOL power. The principal objective of this study was to evaluate the ocular biometry and the predictive precision outcome of a biometer that uses standard keratometry to the prediction accuracy of another biometer that uses Total Keratometry.

NCT ID: NCT06375213 Recruiting - Alzheimer Disease Clinical Trials

Investigating Neurocognitive Disorders Epidemiology

INDE
Start date: August 24, 2023
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This is a prospective cohort study with the main purpose of predicting progression neurocognitive disorders in Thai population. The main predictor variables to be evaluated are plasma phosphorylated tau (p-tau) level and cognitive test scores, which will be combined using statistical/computational modeling. Additionally, it seeks to evaluate biomarkers for diagnosing disease pathologies, understand their correlation with clinical outcomes, and explore the socioeconomic impact of neurocognitive disorders. The study invites both participants for biospecimen collection, structured interviews, and cognitive examinations and schedules follow-up visits annually or biennially.

NCT ID: NCT06340464 Recruiting - Cardiac Surgery Clinical Trials

Preoperative Nutritional Status Scores to Predict PPC in Elderly With Cardiac Surgery

Start date: March 21, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This prospective study investigate prognostic values and compare the role of nutritional status by using GNRI, MNA, and PNI in predicting post-operative pulmonary complication among elderly patients with cardiac surgery.

NCT ID: NCT06339151 Recruiting - Pain, Postoperative Clinical Trials

Comparing Single Dose and Multiple Dose of Dexamethasone Post TKA

Start date: March 23, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the efficacy of single dose and double dose of dexamethasone after primary total knee replacement. The main question[s] it aims to answer [is/are]: Does 24 hours-interval of double dose of dexamethasone have better analgesic effect than single dose and 12 hours interval of double dose of dexamethasone after primary total joint replacement? Researchers will compare double dose of dexamethasone group to see if [insert effects]. Participants will [describe the main tasks participants will be asked to do, interventions they'll be given and use bullets if it is more than 2 items].

NCT ID: NCT06328062 Recruiting - Osteoarthritis Clinical Trials

Comparing Efficiency of Mirogabalin and Pregabalin in Primary TKA

Start date: April 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this RCT is to compare efficacy between mirogabalin and pregabalin in pain reducing after unilateral primary total knee arthroplasty. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: • Does mirogabalin have better pain reduction than pregabalin after unilateral primary total knee arthroplasty. Participants will randomized to mirogabalin or pregabalin group and will take the drug for 6 weeks after TKA. Researchers will compare to pregabalin group to see pain and functional outcomes after TKA.

NCT ID: NCT06326918 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Functional Dyspepsia

Duodenal Microbiota in Functional Dyspepsia

Start date: February 12, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The goal of this observational study is to assess the type of duodenal microbiota and duodenal microbiome in in FD patients compared to control group. The main questions it aims to answer are: - What are the differences in the type of duodenal microbiota and is there a difference in duodenal microbiome diversity between patients diagnosed with functional dyspepsia (FD) and the control group? - Are there any significant variations in the composition and diversity of gut microbiota between patients with FD and the control group, considering the method of sample collection (duodenal brushing vs. duodenal biopsy)?

NCT ID: NCT06326086 Recruiting - Sarcopenia Clinical Trials

Differences in Rate of Decline in CT-defined Skeletal Muscle Mass and Physical Performance in Patients With Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Receiving Chemotherapy and Targeted Therapy/Immunotherapy, Before and After Treatment.

Start date: August 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Lung cancer is a common disease leading to 18 % of cancer deaths worldwide. Despite various improvement in treatment, there still remains low 5-year survival rate of 10-20 % in advanced lung cancer patients. Skeletal muscle mass and physical performance have been shown to effect overall survival and prognosis in lung cancer. This research focuses on effects of different treatment of lung cancer such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy on skeletal muscle mass and physical performance.

NCT ID: NCT06325891 Recruiting - Gastric Cancer Clinical Trials

Microbiota in Gastric Cancer by Gastric Mucosal Brushing

Start date: February 1, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Many studies have shown a significant change of diversity and composition in gut microbiota across the gastric carcinogenesis process, particularly in patients with gastric cancer. However, there has been no analysis of gastric microbiota using the mucosal brushing technique, despites its favoring benefit in microbiota study. Therefore, our study aims to evaluate microbiota profile in patients with gastric cancer, compared to those without gastric cancer by using mucosal brush sampling. This will improve current knowledge of the potential role of the microbiome in patient gastric cancer as a future biomarker marker using brushing sampling.

NCT ID: NCT06325553 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Platelet Refractoriness in Adult Acute Leukemia

Incidence of Platelet Refractoriness in Adult Acute Leukemia Patients Receiving Prestorage Filtered Blood and Comparing With Historical Control

PTR
Start date: March 30, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This research project is evaluate the incidence of platelet refractoriness in newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients receiving PFB during induction and first consolidation phase chemotherapy compared to 2 historical control groups which are patients receiving non-leukocyte depleted blood product group and leukocyte depleted blood product group and demonstrate cost-effectiveness of using blood products with filtered process to prevent clinical platelet refractoriness compare with using HLA-matched blood products after platelet refractoriness occurs

Start date: March 14, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this RCT is to investigate efficacy between restricted kinematic alignment and mechanical alignment TKA in simultaneous bilateral TKA patients. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Does rKA have better functional outcomes than MA in simultaneous bilateral TKA patients? - Does rKA have lower pain score than MA in simultaneous bilateral TKA patients? Participants will undergo simultaneous bilateral TKA and randomized one side will use rKA and the other side will use MA.
