Ultrasonography in Norwegian Emergency Department Patients With Suspected Covid-19 Infection

In light of the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic in Norway, it is paramount to develop and utilize clinical tools for assessing and risk stratifying patients with suspected coronary infection in the emergency departments. Diagnostic use of ultrasound in viral pneumonias, including COVID-19 has proved to be very useful. The use of ultrasound will assist in quick detection of lung pathology compatible with increasing severity of the COVID-19 disease. At the same time, the use of ultrasound diagnostics in the emergency department could improve logistics and reduce potential exposure of the corona virus to other health personnel. The purpose of the study is to assess whether ultrasound findings correlates with physical examination, labs, and other imaging diagnostics in patients with suspected or diagnosed COVID-19 disease, as well as assessing whether ultrasound diagnostics can assist in risk stratification. The project is conducted as a prospective multicenter study where ultrasound diagnostics will be performed on patients with suspected coronary infection in the emergency departments. Data collection takes place as part of the daily clinical evaluation of acute patients in the emergency departments. The project is planned to be completed towards the end of 2025.

The study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of evobrutinib administered orally twice daily versus Teriflunomide (Aubagio®), administered orally once daily in participants with Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis (RMS). Participants who complete the double-blind treatment period (DBTP) and double-blind extension period (DBEP) prior to approval of a separate long-term follow-up study in their country will get an option for evobrutinib treatment continuation through a 96-week open-label extension (OLE) period.

Rehabilitation of Adolescents Living With Chronic Fatigue

Previous studies have shown that health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in adolescents living with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS/ME) is low if compared with healthy adolescents and adolescents living with other chronic diseases. Effective strategies to improve HRQoL in this group are still lacking. Recently we have observed HRQoL in a group of Norwegian adolescents with CFS/ME (not yet published), which is the background for a new study where we have planned an intervention with health promoting dialogues between patient and nurse, as a strategy to improve HRQoL. In this study we have also opened to include adolescents with other chronic fatigue diagnosis with similar challenges in follow-up as in CFS/ME.

Efficacy, Safety, and Tolerability of Gebasaxturev (V937) Administered Intravenously or Intratumorally With Pembrolizumab (MK-3475) Versus Pembrolizumab Alone in Participants With Advanced/Metastatic Melanoma (V937-011)

This is a Phase 2 study to assess the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of gebasaxturev administered both intratumorally (ITu) and intravenously (IV) as combination therapy with pembrolizumab (MK-3475) versus pembrolizumab alone in anti-programmed cell death ligand 1 (anti-PD-L1)-treatment-naive participants with advanced/metastatic melanoma. The primary hypothesis of the study is that gebasaxturev administered either ITu or IV in combination with pembrolizumab results in a superior objective response rate (ORR) per Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors Version 1.1 (RECIST 1.1) based on blinded independent central review (BICR), compared to pembrolizumab alone. This study will be terminated once all participants finish treatment with V937. Participants eligible to continue to receive pembrolizumab will be transferred to MK-3475-587 study.

This observational study will follow participants who completed follow-up in the FOURIER OUTCOMES trial to evaluate the long-term effects of evolocumab treatment. Long-term post-trial (legacy) beneficial effects have been reported with statins, niacin, hypoglycemic therapy and fibrates. Whether similar effects are seen after LDL cholesterol (LDL-c) lowering by PCSK9 inhibition is currently unknown. Evolocumab therapy causes a profound reduction in LDL cholesterol of approximately 60%. Statins have shown legacy effects over 5 years post-trial, including a 7% reduction in total mortality in meta-analysis and 12% reduction in coronary mortality. It would therefore be hypothesized that additional effects beyond the trial period would be conferred by previous evolocumab treatment. It is also important to assess the long-term safety of prior evolocumab treatment.

Exergaming to Increase Physical Activity in Overweight/Obese Children and Adolescents

The primary purpose of this study is to examine the effects of regular exergaming for 8 weeks in 24 overweight/obese children and adolescents (10-17 years) on maximal aerobic fitness (VO2max) and physical activity levels measured before and after (8 weeks) intervention period, and in addition at follow-up (12 weeks). We also wish to investigate the effects on markers of cardio metabolic health and body composition, measured at baseline, 8 weeks and 12 weeks follow-up. Also, the participants gaming frequency will be registered throughout the 8 week period, as well as during the follow-up between 8 and 12 weeks. Aim of this study is to investigate if access to this game can provide health benefits for overweight/obese children and adolescents.

Pelvic Floor Muscle Training in Gymnasts With Stress Urinary Incontinence

There is a high prevalence of urinary incontinence (UI) among female athletes participating in high impact sports, such as artistic gymnastics, trampoline jumping and ball games. UI is defined as "the complaint of involuntary loss of urine". Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is the most common type of UI and is defined as "the complaint of involuntary loss of urine on effort or physical exertion (e.g. sporting activities), or or sneezing or coughing". Urinary leakage during sport activities may affect the athletes' performance, cause bother, frustration and embarrassment and furthermore lead to avoidance and cessation of sport activities. Pelvic floor muscle (PFM) training is highly effective in treating SUI in the general female population. However, evidence of the effect of PFM training in elite athletes in high impact sports is sparse. The purpose of this assessor-blinded randomized controlled trial (RCT) is to assess the effect of PFM training on symptoms, bother and amount of SUI in female artistic gymnasts, team gymnasts and cheerleaders.
