There are about 3961 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Finland. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This study compares EG-1962 to enteral nimodipine in the treatment of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
The main purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of the study drug solanezumab in participants with prodromal Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Infants with viral bronchiolitis are currently treated with oxygen therapy if oxygen saturation is low. In earlier observational clinical studies, the use of high flow nasal cannulae therapy in infants with bronchiolitis has been associated with a decreased rate of intubation and intensive care. This study is a randomized controlled trial in two pediatric university hospitals in Finland comparing high flow nasal cannulae therapy to usual oxygen therapy in infants with bronchiolitis.
The primary objectives of this study are to evaluate the effect of Elafibranor treatment compared to placebo on 1) histological improvement and 2) all-cause mortality and liver-related outcomes in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and fibrosis.
The goal is to investigate the efficacy, safety and possible neuro- and cardioprotective effects of remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) in adult cardiac patients undergoing isolated aortic valve replacement surgery with a biological prosthesis. Neuropsychological evaluation preoperatively and at 30d after surgery will establish if there are any differences in neuropsychological performance between groups. A large array of biochemical markers will be analyzed from plasma samples taken at different time points. Additionally skin biopsies from the lower limb will be taken before and after performing RIPC on said limb. During the venous cannulation phase a atrial biopsy will be taken. The biochemical markers from plasma and tissue samples will be used to asses brain tissue damage, inflammation and cardiac tissue damage between groups. This will be a single center prospective randomized study with two groups. A intervention group (RIPC) and a control group. Study size is: 40 patients in total, 20 patients per group.
This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of crenezumab versus placebo in participants with prodromal to mild AD. Participants will be randomized 1:1 to receive either intravenous (IV) infusion of crenezumab or placebo every 4 weeks (Q4W) for 100 weeks. The final efficacy and safety assessment will be performed 52 weeks after the last crenezumab dose. Participants will then have the option to enter the Open Label Extension (OLE) study if eligible. Participants who do not enter the OLE study will have additional follow-up visits at 16 and 52 weeks after the last dose, primarily for safety and also for limited efficacy assessments.
The purpose of this trial is to test if a marketed drug for advanced prostate cancer (FIRMAGON) can reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications as compared to another marketed drug for advanced prostate cancer (LUPRON DEPOT) in subjects with prostate cancer and cardiovascular disease.
The overactivity of sympathetic nervous system is worsening the hemodynamic state of heart failure patients. The present study is planned to reduce the sympathetic tone in patients with severe heart failure by renal nervous denervation.
The purpose of this study is to assess whether copanlisib in combination with standard immunochemotherapy (rituximab in combination with bendamustine [R-B] and rituximab in combination with a 4 drug combination of cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and prednisone/prednisolone [R-CHOP]) is effective and safe, compared with placebo in combination with standard immunochemotherapy (R-B or R-CHOP) in patients with relapsed iNHL who have received at least one, but at most three, lines of treatment, including rituximab-based immunochemotherapy and alkylating agents.
In this study effectiveness and safety of a new drug FP-1201-lyo (recombinant human interferon beta-1a) is compared to placebo. Investigation is conducted with patients who have acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The new drug is expected to reduce the time which a patient need to be on the ventilator and improve patient's chances of survival. Currently there are no approved drugs for treating moderate or severe ARDS patients.
