Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of thymus honey on radiation induced-oral mucositis and xerostomia. Background: Oral mucositis and xerostomia are two of the most severe side effects that head and neck cancer patients confront during and after the completion of radiotherapy. Although several medications are used for their treatment, these fail to provide a fully effective and comprehensive management. Honey and thyme have been studied for the management of various treatment-related side effects. Design: Α double blinded randomised controlled trial will be used for this study. Methods: 200 head and neck cancer patients who receive radiotherapy will be included in this study. Patients will be randomised and divided into two equal groups of 100 participants; the intervention group (oral spray with thyme and honey + standard care) and the control group ( placebo spray + standard care). Assessments with xerostomia and oral mucositis scales additionally to 4 self-administered questionnaires will occur in both groups at baseline and then weekly and 6 months following completion of treatment. The duration of the study will be 3 years from the day of approval of this research protocol.

Radioligand therapy (RLT) using Lutetium-177 labelled PSMA is a promising new therapeutic approach to treat metastatic prostate cancer. This tumor-specific treatment is directed against prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), which is overexpressed in prostate cancer cells. In the last few years, several lutetium-177 (177Lu, β emitter) labeled PSMA ligands have been developed and are currently applied to treat metastatic castrate resistant prostate cancer patients. To date, there are no prospective randomized studies published using this treatment in the hormone sensitive setting or in oligometastatic prostate cancer. Therefore, this study we will evaluate the effect of 177Lu-PSMA in patients with hormone sensitive oligo-metastatic prostate cancer.
Efficient health care systems for the management of chronic diseases in the community may improve clinical outcomes and simultaneously encourage patients to remain healthy. Supportive care, may contribute to empower heart failure (HF) patients for self- management and providing them with the follow-up and care based on their needs and values through the HF trajectory. To develop the current program an assessment of the support needs of HF patients' will be undertaken and the investigators will take into consideration of their personal preferences, for instance means of communication and way of exercise as part of the intervention. The present study aspires to evaluate the effectiveness of an individualized supportive care management program in terms of the four different components that comprise supportive care in HF. The objectives of this study are to: 1. Determine supportive care needs of HF patients as reported in the literature. 2. Explore Cypriot patients' identified supportive care needs. 3. To develop and test a self-management supportive care programme for HF patients.
