Absorbable sutures are not generally accepted by the majority of vascular surgeons for the possible complications such as the breakage of the suture at the anastomoses level. Some experimental and clinical studies in the current literature demonstrated that the use of absorbable sutures may even reduce some important complications such as restenosis. The aim of this study is to compare absorbable and non-absorbable sutures in patients undergoing peripheral vascular surgery with vein bypass grafting.
Traditionally, people have always been focusing on vascular injuries by angiography. Recent years, the investigators have further known that the pathological foundation of various cardiovascular complications not only lies in the vascular lumen, but also vessel wall. Therefore, now it is possible to detect and prevent vascular disease early. There are many influencing factors on functional and structural damages of vessels, including genetic and environmental factors. The investigators have done many researches on populations of the Han nationality, which has the largest population in China. Thus, the investigators further wonder whether the function and structure of vessel differ in the She Minority of a remote southern region in China. The investigators will enroll 150 subjects of two ethnic groups respectively in the local population, namely She Minority and Han nationality. All subjects enrolled into the study will complete a questionnaire survey of the general situation and conduct vascular related examinations, including evaluation of arterial stiffness, arterial elasticity indexes, subclinical carotid atherosclerosis and biomarkers. The investigators will analysis vascular differences between the two populations and provide a theoretical basis for the specific strategies of prevention and treatment.
There are currently no studies evaluating the effect of anacetrapib on blood vessel function and stiffness of the arteries. The REVEAL-Vasc trial will assess whether anacetrapib, in addition to atorvastatin (LDL-C lowering drug) treatment, results in greater endothelial-dependent vascular function and aortic stiffness in patients with established cardiovascular disease, compared to adding placebo. Participants will be asked to provide a blood sample and pulse Wave Velocity/Pulse Wave Analysis and Flow Mediated Dilation will be carried out to assess blood vessel function and stiffness of the arteries. REVEAL-Vasc is an investigator led sub-study of HPS3/TIMI 55: REVEAL (Randomized Evaluation of the Effects of Anacetrapib through Lipid modification): A large-scale, randomized placebo-controlled trial of the clinical effects of anacetrapib among people with established vascular disease (NCT01252953) which is coordinated by OXFORD CTSU. No treatment will be received on this sub-study, therefore only participants who have been enrolled in HPS3/TIMI55 REVEAL in which participants received anacetrapib with atorvastatin or placebo will be considered for this trial.

Paradise in Europe) for renal denervation therapy in patients with treatment resistance hypertension, in comparison with the sham procedure.
The primary objective of this study is to show that cardiovascular risk factors associated with the chronic elevation of arterial resistance may be associated with "false" profiles of intracranial hypertension during transcranial doppler ultrasound of the middle cerebral arteries in intensive care unit patients. A "false" profile of intracranial hypertension is defined by a high pulsatility index without any intracranial pathology.
The enormous and rapidly growing burden of Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF) has led to a need to understand the pathogenesis and treatment options for this morbid disease. Recent research from the investigator's group and others have shown that pulmonary hypertension (PH) is highly prevalent in HFpEF, and right ventricular (RV) dysfunction is present in both early and advanced stages of HFpEF. These abnormalities in the RV and pulmonary vasculature are coupled with limitations in pulmonary vasodilation during exercise. There are no therapies directly targeted at the pulmonary vasculature that have been clearly shown to be effective in HFpEF. A recent study by Mayo Clinic Investigators has demonstrated pulmonary vasodilation with dobutamine (a beta 2 agonist) in HFpEF. As an intravenous therapy, this is not feasible for outpatient use. In the proposed randomized, placebo-controlled double blinded trial, the investigators seek to evaluate whether the commonly used inhaled bronchodilator albuterol (a beta 2 agonist), administered through a high-efficiency nebulizer device that achieves true alveolar drug delivery, improves pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) at rest and during exercise in patients with HFpEF as compared to placebo. This has the potential to lead to a simple cost effective intervention to improve symptoms in HFpEF, and potentially be tested in other World Health Organization (WHO) Pulmonary Hypertension groups. PVR is an excellent surrogate marker for pulmonary vasodilation and has been used in previous early trials of PH therapy.
Is real-time myocardial perfusion echocardiography (RTMPE) a feasible and effective non-invasive method to detect significant Coronary Allograft Vasculopathy in pediatric and adult cardiac transplant recipients? Will perfusion deficits correlate with significant coronary artery stenosis identified by standard stress echocardiography and Invasive Coronary Angiography (ICA), and identify diffuse small vessel disease more effectively than current non-invasive techniques?
