Patient Power is a patient research network and database (registry) to collect prospective information about demographics, self-reported diagnoses and medications, and willingness to participate in research from participants with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), spondyloarthritis (SpA), other musculoskeletal conditions, chronic neurological conditions like migraine, chronic pulmonary conditions like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), asthma, autoimmune dermatological conditions such as psoriasis, and other chronic inflammatory or immune-mediated conditions. In addition, since patients with chronic conditions often have other co-morbidities like cardiovascular health and obesity-related metabolic disorders, these conditions will also be included. Participants will provide information from their smartphones or personal computers. The information will be used by researchers and clinicians to help patients and their providers make better, more informed decisions about treatment of chronic conditions.

AML and MDS-EB2 are malignancies of the bone marrow. The standard treatment for these diseases is chemotherapy. Patients participating have a special type of this disease because the leukemia cells (blasts) have developed an error in the genetic material (DNA). This error is called an IDH1 mutation or an IDH2 mutation (a mutation is a change in the DNA), which leads to changes in specific substances in the leukemia cells. This trial will investigate whether the addition of the new drugs Ivosidenib (for patients with IDH1 mutation) or Enasidenib (for patients with IDH2 mutation) to the standard treatment of chemotherapy controle the disease more effectively and for a longer period.

Markers of Trajectory in Pediatric CRPS

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a severe and complex chronic pain condition in children. Many psychosocial factors impact its development and recovery. CRPS has a strong central component, which is reflected by structural and functional changes in the brain. However, the interaction between these cerebral changes and trajectory of recovery has been seldom investigated to date. Furthermore, interactions between cerebral changes and psychosocial factors, which might affect trajectory of recovery, are unknown. The aim of this study is to identify the psychosocial factors and cerebral changes that predict the trajectory of recovery from CRPS. Children between the ages of 10 and 17 years will be enrolled with one of their parents or legal guardians for this study. Three populations will be recruited: patients with CRPS undergoing treatment at the Functional Independence Restoration Program (FIRST), patients with CRPS undergoing treatment at the Pain Management Center and matching healthy controls. Participants will undergo three sessions: the first session will be scheduled immediately before or as soon as possible at the beginning of the patients' treatment; the second session will take place at the end of the patients' treatment; the last session will be scheduled six months post-treatment. The timing of the sessions of the healthy participants will follow a schedule similar to the FIRST patients. Each session will last approximately three hours and include acquisition of psychosocial, psychophysical, and brain imaging data in the child participants, as well as acquisition of psychosocial data in the parent participants.

Impact of a Patient-Centered Program for Low Anterior Resection Syndrome A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial

After undergoing restorative proctectomy for rectal cancer, many patients are left with significant bowel dysfunction, known as Low Anterior Resection Syndrome (LARS). Increased LARS severity correlates with worse perceived global health status and quality of life (QoL). Among patients undergoing rectal resection with a permanent ostomy, there is evidence that supportive and educational interventions improve QoL, ostomy proficiency, self-efficacy and knowledge. However, evidence regarding the impact of such interventions in patients who undergo restorative proctectomy is lacking, despite the latter operation being far more frequently performed. The overall goal of this study is to evaluate the extent to which a LARS Patient-Centered Program impacts on patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) after restorative proctectomy for rectal cancer. This is a randomized-controlled muticenter trial that will include patients who have undergone restorative proctectomy for neoplastic disease (benign or malignant) located in the rectum (0-15cm from the anal verge) with a diverting ostomy and who are scheduled for ostomy closure.

Prophylactic Use of Milrinone After Congenital Heart Surgery in Infants

This randomized, multi-center, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study is designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of milrinone compared with placebo in participants after corrective surgery for congenital heart disease. Participants will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio within 90 minutes after arriving in the intensive care unit (ICU), to receive either intravenous milrinone or placebo for 36 hours. Participants will be stratified according Vasoactive Inotrope Score after arriving in the ICU.

Self-acupressure for Cancer-related Symptom Cluster of Insomnia, Depression, and Anxiety: a Feasibility Study

Aim: To assess the acceptability and make estimations about the effectiveness of using self-acupressure to manage insomnia, depression, and anxiety in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Study design: three-arms randomized sham-controlled trial. Participants will be assigned to the true self-acupressure group, sham acupressure group, or enhanced standard care group, with a ratio of 1:1:1 using block randomize. Participants: patients receiving chemotherapy. 114 patients will be recruited to the study. Inclusion criteria: Undergoing chemotherapy currently, Age 20 - 84 years' old, able to read and write Vietnamese, Karnofsky score ≥ 80, Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) score ≥ 11, Anxiety score measured by The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) ≥ 8 and Depression score measured by HADS ≥ 8 Exclusion criteria: Patients are excluded from the trial if they are unable to understand or cooperate with study procedures, receiving other cancer treatments (e.g., radiotherapy, hormonal therapy) at the same time as receiving chemotherapy and during the period of their involvement in the trial, participating in other research studies which may have interacted with the current trial or affect insomnia, depression, anxiety perception, having difficulties or are unable to practice self-acupressure by themselves, are receiving insomnia or depression/anxiety treatment currently. Interventions Self-administered acupressure training section Participants in the true or sham self-acupressure groups will receive a self-administered acupressure training section based on their group assignment. Then, they will be requested to practice acupressure at home for 4 weeks. Patient leaflet All of the participants in three groups will receive a patient leaflet with tips to manage insomnia, depression, and anxiety. Weekly telephone reminder will be made to follow-up participants in all groups. Outcome measurement The recruitment rate, consent rate, refusal rate, attrition rate, adherence rate will be calculated. The acceptability of the intervention will be measured by the Intervention Rating Profile - 15. The ISI, The HADS, and The Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-General will be used to evaluate the effects of self-acupressure on the severity of insomnia, depression, anxiety. Others sleep parameters and adverse events associated with self-acupressure will be recorded.
