Filter by:Individuals diagnosed with Subacromial Impingement Syndrome by a physical therapist based on MRI results and examination findings will be included in the study. 40 people will be randomly divided into blood flow restrictive exercise (BFRT) and structured exercise program (SEP) groups, 20 people in each group. Participants will receive two evaluations: before starting treatment and immediately after 4 weeks of treatment. Pain, shoulder ROM, shoulder functional level, quality of life, shoulder muscle strength, grip strength, and sleep quality evaluation will be performed. The treatment program will be 5 days a week for a total of 4 weeks. The treatment will be individualized by calculating the appropriate resistance loads for the exercise program. All participants will undergo progressive exercises in sessions conducted by a physiotherapist.
This registry has the aim to assess the use of different antithrombotic therapies, including untested drug combinations, routinely used during the hospitalization phase, with their timing, route and dose of administration, in consecutive patients discharged with a diagnosis NSTEMI or STEMI in Italian Cardiac care Units (CCUs) during a four-week study period.
The purpose of this study is to describe the treatment patterns, clinical outcomes, healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and medical costs of lower-risk myelodysplastic syndromes patients in Japan.
This is an observational study in which data already collected from people with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) admitted to an intensive care unit (ICU) are studied. ARDS is a life-threatening condition in which fluid builds up in the lungs making breathing difficult. In observational studies, only observations are made without participants receiving any advice or any changes to health care. People who are admitted to ICU for serious illnesses, like ARDS, often experience new health problems during and after their ICU stays. These health problems that may include physical, mental, and/or emotional disorders, are called post-intensive care syndrome (PICS). Identifying these new health problems early can help people by timely treatments and care. In this study, researchers want to identify any health problems that arise after ICU admission in people with ARDS in the United States (US). To do this, researchers will collect information on health problems, treatments, medicines, and healthcare visits in people with ARDS, 1 year before and after an ICU admission. They will then look to see whether the health problems are in areas that have been described as the post intensive care syndrome (PICS). In addition, they will measure healthcare related costs in the one year after admission and compare it to the one year prior to admission. Researchers will also compare this information with data collected for people with pneumonia who did not require ICU admission. This will help them to identify any new health problems arising due to ICU stays. The data will come from participants' medical claims information stored in the Optum Clinformatics Data Mart database from 2016 to 2022. The claims data will only be collected for people in the US. Researchers will collect data from participants admitted to ICU for ARDS for a maximum of 1 year before and after their stay.
The aim of this randomized controlled study is to investigate if the sequential administration of focused shock wave therapy and of a rehabilitation program based on the strengthening of gluteal muscles is more effective than a standard shock wave treatment for greater trochanteric pain syndrome
The purpose of the study is to determine whether a daily prebiotic fibre blend can reduce systemic inflammation, dyslipidemia, and self-report measures of mental health in individuals with metabolic syndrome. This study will help shape a larger randomised controlled study (RCT) powered to assess efficacy in a bigger cohort of patients. Primary outcome measures will explore the efficacy of a prebiotic fibre blend on systemic inflammation. Secondary and exploratory outcomes measures will explore the efficacy of the prebiotic blend on clinical biomarkers associated with cardiometabolic risk factors, microbiota features, and mental health. Using these data, we will also estimate in-year savings for the NHS in the metabolic syndrome population on a per participant basis.
The study was aimed to evaluate the efficacy of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) supplementation compared to placebo to prevent HFS by observing changes in serum COX 2, malondialdehyde (MDA), and TNF α levels in breast cancer and colorectal cancer patients undergoing capecitabine chemotherapy. Current study was designed as a single-center prospective randomized clinical trial. The patients were Stage III or Stage IV colorectal and breast cancer patients receiving capecitabine-based chemotherapy who enrolled in the trial voluntarily. All patients were divided randomly into three groups treated with EVOO, olive oil, or placebo. The incidence of hand foot syndrome was documented. The serum COX 2, malondialdehyde (MDA), and TNF α levels before and after chemotherapy was documented.
Since the emergence ofCorona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19), it has spread rapidly around the world, And it has had a profound impact on the lives and health of people around the world, most of the COVID-19 positive patients are 3-4 weeks after the onset of infection patients can turn negative and recover, however, increasing observational data suggest that these patients long-term or recurring symptoms such as: fatigue, palpitations, cognitive impairment, dyspnea, anxiety, chest tightness andPain, etc., symptoms may last at least two months or even longer (for example, up to 12 months), the patient's quality of life and The ability to work and social activities also decline accordingly. Therefore, in addition to the acute symptoms after infection, patients also face the same. The challenge of long-term health sequelae associated with COVID-19.
This is a virtual single group study that will last 12 weeks. 40 female participants will take 4 capsules of the Optify Myo Inositol and D-Chiro Inositol Plus Folate and Vitamin D supplement per day. Questionnaires will be completed at Baseline, Week 4, Week 8 and Week 12. Participants will also provide a waist circumference measurement at Baseline and Week 12.
The purpose of this study is to continue the evaluation of long-term safety of osilodrostat in 7 Canadian patients who have already received osilodrostat treatment in a previous Global Recordati-sponsored roll-over study and who, based on investigators' judgement, will continue benefiting with its administration.
