A Study to Compare CSF Flow Metrics Across Platforms

Start date: September 14, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this research is to find out more about detecting movement of CSF (fluid around the brain) with MRI. Researchers are doing this research study to find out how measurements of CSF movement differ among MRI machines and how image quality is changed by reducing the scan time.

NCT ID: NCT05221242 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

Clinical Trial on Ceramic Partial Laminate Veneers With Different Luting Agents

Start date: January 4, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Partial laminate veneers is a type of dental restoration made of a glass-matrix ceramic used to restore small teeth fractures, or to correct morphology defects of teeth (i.e.: diastema, conoid teeth or small misalignment). As tooth surface reduction, or tooth preparation is not needed for this type of restoration, it can be considered as a non-tooth preparation minimally invasive procedure. As non-preparation is required for the restoration with ceramic partial laminate veneers, bonding relies on adhesion between the intaglio surface of the ceramic restoration and the tooth surface, which in most of the cases is enamel. For this purpose, many light-curing resin cement materials are available for bonding procedures. Nowadays, pre-heated resin composites are available as a resin luting material which has been indicated for laminate veneers and partial indirect posterior restorations. As pre-heated resin composite has not been yet studied for partial laminate veneers, the objective of this randomized split mouth clinical trial, is to evaluate the survival of ceramic partial laminate veneers when bonded with two different resin composite luting agents.

NCT ID: NCT05162638 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

Immune Profiles in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Patients and Healthy Volunteers Through Thoracic Duct Cannulation

Start date: April 19, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In this study, lymph fluid will be collected by cannulation of the thoracic duct, a minimally invasive procedure performed by interventional radiologists. Single time point and serial collection through an indwelling cannula will allow for comparisons between immune cells in the periphery and deep lymphatic system in MS and healthy controls and in MS, changes in responses to a FDA approved therapy ofatumumab.

NCT ID: NCT05141539 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

Rehabilitation Assessment and Progress Tracking System Based on Video Images for Dysphagic Patients

Start date: February 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The current cervical range of motion (CROM) and tongue movement measurement methods are not reliable between observers, which is not practical in real-world usage. This research is to develop the cervical range of motion measurement, and tongue movement estimation software, to compare between the developed software and the current measurement techniques, and to test in clinical aspects for reliability and validity assessment. The investigators investigate the developed software in healthy people in phase 1. In phases 2 and 3, the investigators compare the software to the standard measurement methods in dysphagic patients who have head and neck cancer for reliability and validity.

NCT ID: NCT05117762 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

A Validation Study of Selfie Technology for Assessment of Vital Signs

Start date: November 2, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to compare accuracy of DocMe, a video technology developed by DocMe Health Technologies, with previously validated medical devices used for measurements of heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate and blood pressure in adults.

NCT ID: NCT05112809 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

Noninvasive Cochlear Stimulation System

Start date: October 6, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this research is to develop a portable wearable hardware headset using a computer-based software that can establish the optimal stimulation parameters appropriate for medical and consumer environments for individuals with hearing impaired and normal hearing individuals.

NCT ID: NCT05080907 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

Collection and Distribution of Biospecimens for Novel Research

Start date: July 15, 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

iSpecimen aims to create a clinical partner network of hospitals, laboratories, academic institutions, and other healthcare organizations ("institutions") capable of providing researchers and educators ("researchers") with annotated biospecimens for use in biomarker discovery and validation; diagnostic test and instrumentation development and validation; therapeutics development; other medical research including the impact that various specimen collection and handling methods and conditions have on research results; and in education such as researcher or physician training (collectively "research").

Responding to Elder Abuse in GERiAtric Care: Educational Intervention

REAGERA edu
Start date: September 16, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The prevalence of elder abuse has been reported between 10-15% in international studies. Elder abuse may include both physical, emotional, sexual and financial abuse as well as neglect and it occurs at the hand of both professionals and family members, including adult children and intimate partners. Elder abuse has been associated with psychological ill-health, disability, increased hospitalization, emergency department use and admission to nursing facilities. Elder abuse is however often unknown to health care providers. Older adults are hesitant to disclose abuse and health care providers are often reluctant to ask questions. In this study an interactive educational model for health care professionals about elder abuse will be tested. The model consist of theoretical lectures, brief films showing patient encounters, group discussions and forum play, a form of participatory theater. Both group discussions and forum play will be using case scenarios as a cornerstone. The validated questionnaire REAGERA-P will be used for self-reported measures

NCT ID: NCT05041595 Enrolling by invitation - Healthy Clinical Trials

Lyme Disease Diagnostic Assay - Collection of Whole Blood

Start date: May 3, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The primary objective is to obtain whole blood from subjects with signs and/or symptoms of early Borrelisois. Whole blood will also be obtained from subjects with suspicion of acute Borreliosis and under medical examination for Lyme disease. In addition, whole blood will be obtained from apparently healthy subjects residing in areas endemic to Lyme disease and may also inlclude apparently healthy subjects residing in areas non-endemic to Lyme disease.
