The use of natural products in the prevention or treatment of chronic diseases is an emerging field in current medicine. And studying the mechanisms of actions by which natural products act in our bodies contributes to the rational use of these products. And the combination of different natural products such as prebiotics (FOS- fructooligosaccharides, GOS-Galactooligosaccharides and beta-glucans derived from yeast), herbal medicine (Silybum marianum), and minerals (Se-selenium, Zn-Zinc, and Mg-Magnesium), o which would result in a synergistic association between them can contribute to achieving not only preventive effects but treatment for chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity. The present study aims to study the effects of a composition containing natural products on factors and markers that are part of mitochondrial biogenesis and the neuroimmune-endocrine system in healthy volunteers and that present grade 1 overweight/obesity.

Effects of Malleo-Lok Stiffness on Lower Limb Mechanics

The primary purpose of this research study is to determine if the stiffness of a commercially available ankle foot orthosis (Malleo-Lok, Bio-Mechanical Composites, Des Moines IA) impacts gait biomechanics and overall joint level stiffness. Previously published research suggests that AFO stiffness can affect gait biomechanics and patient preference. However, previous studies have focused on traditional posterior strut devices with the strut aligned in the frontal plane to allow sagittal plane deflection. The Malleo-Lok is a novel, low-profile carbon fiber device with two laterally positioned struts aligned in the sagittal plane. The proposed study will provide insight that can be used by certified prosthetists orthotists (CPOs), physical therapists, and physicians to select the device that bests meets their patients' needs.

This study is conducted with the aim to investigate whether any differences concerning the rate and extent of absorption exist between the test and the reference product, Test product was Nerpentine 600 mg Film coated Tablet (Aman Pharma) Reference Product was Neurontin 300 mg Capsule.(Pfizer) The comparative bio availability of the two formulations was evaluated based in statistical comparisons of relevant pharmacokinetic parameters, obtained from data of drug concentrations in blood. Study was open-label, randomized, crossover, with 02 treatments, 02 sequences and 02 periods, under fasting conditions. one tablet from test product 600 mg against two capsules ( 2*300 mg ) reference product. Study population was 34 subjects , males ,adults between 18-55 years.
