NCT ID: NCT05581043 Completed - Ketosis Clinical Trials

Pre-meals of 3-hydroxybutyrate in Type 2 Diabetes

PreKetone
Start date: January 12, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Hyperglycemia following meals in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a common problem. Recently, our group found that oral consumption of the ketone metabolite, 3-hydroxybutyrate (3-OHB), effectively stimulates insulin secretion and delays gastric emptying. The aim of this study is to investigate the dose/response relationship between 3-OHB servings of 0, 10, 20 and 40 grams 30 minutes before an OGTT and, ii) investigate the role of timing by serving 20 grams of 3-OHB at different timepoints ahead of an OGTT (0, 30 and 60 minutes)

NCT ID: NCT05565248 Recruiting - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

Start date: January 20, 2023
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is an open-label, multicenter, Phase 1/2 study evaluating the Safety, Tolerability, and Efficacy of VCTX211 Combination Product in Subjects with T1D

NCT ID: NCT05558488 Completed - Insulin Resistance Clinical Trials

The Effect of a Meatless,Keto Restrictive Diet on Body Composition,Strength Capacity,Oxidative Stress,Immune Response

Start date: October 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The subject of doctoral dissertation: Assessment of the effects of a meatless, ketogenic restrictive diet on body composition, strength capacity, oxidative stress and immune response During planning of research and topic of the doctoral dissertation, it was considered how to modify a standard ketogenic diet rich in saturated fatty acids so that the use of this model of nutrition has the most anti-inflammatory effect. Therefore, it was decided to conduct a research to check whether a diet rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids will show such an effect when following a high-fat diet. Hypotheses: 1. The ketogenic diet reduces systemic inflammation. 2.The ketogenic diet reduces oxidative stress. 3. The ketogenic diet reduces body fat. 4. A ketogenic diet does not worsen strength performance.

NCT ID: NCT05544266 Recruiting - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

Rare and Atypical Diabetes Network

RADIANT
Start date: September 30, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

RADIANT is a network of 14 clinical sites and several laboratories dedicated to the study of atypical diabetes. The objective of this study is to define new forms of diabetes and the unique mechanisms underlying these forms of atypical diabetes. The specific aims are to: 1. Identify and enroll individuals and families with undiagnosed rare and atypical forms of diabetes. 2. Determine the etiologic basis of the metabolic disorder among individuals and families with novel forms of rare and atypical diabetes. 3. Understand the pathophysiology of individuals and families with novel forms of rare and atypical forms of diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT05543083 Recruiting - Depression Clinical Trials

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Exercise Training in Adolescents At-Risk for Type 2 Diabetes

CBTeX
Start date: June 2, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators are doing this study to learn more about how to prevent type 2 diabetes in teenage girls. The purpose of this study is to find out if taking part in a cognitive-behavioral therapy group, exercise training group, or a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy and exercise training groups, decreases stress, improves mood, increases physical activity and physical fitness, and decreases insulin resistance among teenagers at risk for diabetes.

NCT ID: NCT05505994 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

The Efficacy and Safety of DWP16001 in Combination With Metformin in T2DM Patients Inadequately Controlled on Metformin

Start date: September 28, 2022
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Therapeutic Confirmatory Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of DWP16001 in Combination with Metformin in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who Have Inadequate Glycemic Control on Metformin Alone.

NCT ID: NCT05445284 Active, not recruiting - Diabetes Mellitus Clinical Trials

Group Education Trial to Improve Transition for Parents of Adolescents With T1D

GETIT-Parent
Start date: October 10, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators will study if group education for parents of adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D) will improve the transition from adolescence to adulthood. The investigators aim to conduct a pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) of parent group education sessions to assess the feasibility and refine the intervention to inform a full-scale multicenter RCT. The aims of the pilot are to estimate: 1. Recruitment rate, 2. Adherence rate, 3. Response rate, and 4. Retention rate. The aims for the future full-scale multicenter RCT are to assess the effect of parent group education sessions integrated into pediatric care, compared with usual care on self-management, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), adverse outcomes and validated measures during the transition from adolescence to adulthood. The investigators will conduct a parallel group, blinded (outcome assessors, data analysts), superiority pilot RCT of parents and their adolescents with T1D (14-16 years of age) followed at a university teaching hospital-based pediatric diabetes clinic in Montreal. Interventions will occur over 12-months. Follow-up will be to 18 months from enrollment.

NCT ID: NCT05348694 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Glucose Metabolism Disorders

OsteoPreP: Food Supplements for Postmenopausal Bone Health

OsteoPreP
Start date: May 1, 2022
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate the effect of 12 months of supplementation with a probiotic (probiotic plus prebiotic; 2 capsules per day) on relative change (%) in total volumetric bone density (measured using high resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography [HR-pQCT]) of the distal tibia.

NCT ID: NCT05334342 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Spinal Cord Injuries

Low-GI Diet vs High-GI Diet in Individuals With SCI

Start date: May 5, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this pilot research project is to examine the impact of a low-glycemic index (GI) diet on postprandial hypotension and glucose control in individuals with chronic spinal cord injury. The objectives are: 1) To evaluate the effect of the low-GI diet on the magnitude of postprandial systolic blood pressure drop compared to a high-GI control diet. 2)To evaluate the effect of a low-GI diet on postprandial glucose and insulin responses compared to a high-GI control diet.
