Postpartum Massage Therapy for Women and Infants: The Effect on Maternal Depression, Stress, Fatigue and Infant Temperament

Mother and infant massage, a type of complementary therapy, possesses the capacity to ameliorate maternal depression, stress, fatigue, and also infant temperaments and convert them into more manageable ones. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of mother and infant massage therapy on maternal depression, stress, fatigue, and infant temperament. In this quasi-experimental study, a total of 102 participants were allocated into two groups based on a pretest and posttest. During a period of five weeks, the experimental groups were subjected to ten massages per week, twice every week. On the data, a generalized estimating equation (GEE) was implemented. This study's hypothesis was an improvement in maternal depression, stress, fatigue, and infant temperament.

Young People Aged 18-25 With Depression or Anxiety Mood Participate in an LLM-based Digital Dialogue Intervention Study

This study is a 28-day randomized controlled trial (RCT). Residents were randomly assigned to an intervention group or a waiting group according to the order in which they were successfully contacted by the staff, and each user was asked to engage in a total of 28 days of dialog intervention with the Douyin companion bot and complete three psychological questionnaires (on Days 1, 14, and 28); however, the intervention group began to receive the dialog intervention after completing the first questionnaire, and the waiting group began to receive the dialog intervention after completing the third questionnaire. During the first four weeks, the waiting group was treated as a blank control. The two groups of subjects completed the three questionnaires at exactly the same point in time. Each user's depression, anxiety, and positive and negative emotions were measured using the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), respectively.

Coparenting Intervention to Prevent Postpartum Depression

The goal of this pilot randomized controlled trial was to examine the feasibility and acceptability of an ehealth antenatal coparenting intervention (eACoP) in primiparous Pakistani women. The secondary purpose of the study was to see the effectives of the intervention in prevention postpartum depression in women. Two hundred and twelve primiparous couples were randomized into an intervention or a control group from the Aga Khan University Hospital. Couples were randomized using consecutively numbered sealed envelopes. Couples in the intervention group received the eACoP intervention during pregnancy, consist of eight online videos in addition to the standard care provided at the center. Both the intervention group and control group received standard care.

Game-Based Digital Intervention for Relieving Depression and Anxiety Symptoms

Objective: To collect preliminary data and assess the preliminary effectiveness of a game-based digital therapeutics (DTx) intervention for individuals with symptoms of anxiety and depression, and to investigate whether reinforcement learning (RL) can personalize the intervention and enhance effectiveness. Design: Randomized controlled trial with three arms. Setting: Internet-based recruitment and delivery of the intervention. Participants: 223 individuals with symptoms of anxiety and depression, aged between 18 and 50 years. Interventions: Participants were randomly assigned to one of three groups: game-based DTx with RL algorithm (RL algorithm group), game-based DTx without RL algorithm (no algorithm group), and a blank control group. Main Outcomes and Measures: The primary outcomes were reductions in symptoms of anxiety and depression, measured using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 and Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item scales. Response rates and rates of recovery, as well as the impact of demographic variables, were also examined.

Effects of Electroacupuncture on Cognitive Symptoms in Major Depressive Disorder

The goal of this pilot Study and Randomized Controlled Trial is to investigate the impact of electroacupuncture on cognitive function, quality of life (QoL), and depression severity in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD). The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Primary : electroacupuncture has the potential to treat subjective cognitive complaints and cognitive impairment in MDD outpatients - Secondary : electroacupuncture has the potential to treat depressive in MDD outpatients The 60 participants will randomly be assigned to either the treatment group or the control group in a 1:1 ratio. The treatment group will undergo electroacupuncture (EA), while the control group will receive sham acupuncture within 10 weeks period. Both groups will receive antidepressants with adjunctive medication (i.e., benzodiazepines, tricyclics, or antipsychotics) as the standard treatment. All participants will be assessed for executive functions and memory using specific cognitive tests, including the Trail Making Test B (TMT-B), Stroop Color and Word Test (SCWT), category delayed recall in the Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale-Cognitive Subscale (ADAS-Cog), and subjective reports of concern regarding concentration, memory, problem-solving, learning, communication, and quality of life (QoL) concerns using the WHO Disability Assessment Schedule (WHODAS 2.0; sections D1.1-1.6 and H1-3), and depressive symptoms were assessed using the Thai-PHQ-9.
