People released from prison experience two times higher cardiovascular (CV) mortality than the general population, have a high prevalence of poor CV health and increased risk of CV events within 2 years of release. Access to high quality healthcare following release from prison is key to preventing poor health and CV outcomes. Our study team will investigate facilitators and barriers to health care access experienced by people released from prison.
The goal of this pragmatic cluster-randomized crossover trial is to test if less unnecessary antibiotics are prescribed when the lab reports respiratory culture test results in a specific way for patients who have respiratory cultures obtained, but do not meet clinical criteria for ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP). The main question it aims to answer is: Does a modified culture reporting intervention reduce unnecessary antibiotics for ventilated patients in the intensive care unit (ICU)? Researchers will compare antibiotic use outcomes between eligible patients whose test results are communicated using the modified reporting and those with standard reporting of results.
This study will create a new model to predict hypoglycemic events in diabetic inpatients on anti-hyperglycemic therapy using retrospective data with the goal of developing a model that will accurately predict hypoglycemic episodes in the patient population - piloting the risk score that was developed in the context of EndoTool being rolled out at the institution, to determine the feasibility and acceptability of viewing the risk score in the Electronic Health Record
The investigators do not yet know how a prosthetic socket with adjustable panels affects the performance of people with a lower limb amputation compared to a conventional prosthetic socket. The primary objective of this study is to compare an adjustable and conventional prosthetic socket and use this information to determine the optimal socket that would improve rehabilitation and function in people with lower limb amputation.
This is a Phase I, open-label dose finding study to assess the safety, tolerability, manufacturing feasibility, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy of TmCD19-IL18 CAR T cells in patients with CD19+ cancers. This study will take place in two parts: a Dose-Finding Phase to determine the maximum tolerate dose (MTD), followed by a Dose Expansion Phase. In the Dose-Finding Phase, up to 4 total dose levels will be evaluated using a 3+3 dose escalation design in order to determine the MTD (as defined below). Both safety and manufacturing feasibility will then be used to identify the dose level that can be progressed into the Dose Expansion Phase.
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals developed a single-dose pre-filled syringe (PFS) to deliver 8 mg aflibercept. The PFS is a convenient device that contains the study medication that will be injected in your study eye. A PFS offers a sterile, single dose of study drug within the syringe; this eliminates the need for the retina specialist to prepare the injection syringe from a separate vial. This Phase IIIb study is focused on patients with diabetic macular edema (DME) and neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). The main aim of the study is to evaluate if the 8 mg aflibercept PFS allows for successful preparation and administration of 8 mg aflibercept by retina specialists. The study will also assess the safety of 8 mg aflibercept PFS use. Regeneron will use the information from the study to better understand if the PFS can be used safely and effectively by retina specialists to administer 8 mg aflibercept.
This study is being done to collect Adipose tissue from young and older individuals and gather data on the effect of methionine aminopeptidase protein (MetAP2) inhibition on that Adipose tissue in the laboratory.
The goal of this observational study is to learn the impact of race, ethnicity, and language matched peer support groups on parental stress, anxiety, and sense of belonging for families who have or have had an infant hospitalized in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The main questions aim to answer: Do race, ethnicity, and language matched peer support groups decrease parental stress and anxiety and improve sense of belonging of parents while their baby is hospitalized in the NICU? And, are there any changes that should be made to the format of the peer support group sessions? Participants will be invited to attend a peer support group that is matched for race, ethnicity, and language. Participants will have the option of filling out a survey on stress, anxiety, and sense of belonging before and after the peer group session. Additionally, participants will have the option of filling out a satisfaction survey after the peer group session.
The purpose of the qualitative research is to provide a deeper understanding of the perspectives of people with type 2 diabetes (T2D) who received a nutrition-focused approach (NFA) when initiating continuous glucose monitor (CGM).
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of two programs to prevent/reduce alcohol misuse among youth primary care patients. Depending on their study condition, youth will receive a brief web-based computer program or the web program + 8 weeks of supportive text messages. Parents/caregivers of youth are encouraged to use a freely available app to guide conversations with their child about drinking. This study will have significant impact by evaluating response to these scalable interventions which can be deployed widely in clinical care settings.
