Kids Rehydration During Exercise

The present study aims to measure the impact of consuming a lower sugar flavored water compared to an equal amount of plain water during exercise on selected rehydration markers in healthy children. Participants will complete two experimental visits designed to examine the differentiating effects of one of two selected beverages (1) lower sugar flavored water beverage and 2) plain water) on certain hydration markers and related perceptual variables during repeated bouts of exercise in a warm environment to induce mild dehydration.

Chronic Hypertension and Pregnancy 2 (CHAP2) Pilot Project

The CHAP2 study is designed to provide preliminary data for a larger multicenter study to assess whether treatment of stage 1 hypertension (HTN) in pregnancy improves maternal and or neonatal outcomes. The primary objective of this pilot study is to determine if anti-HTN treatment to BP<130/80mmHg in pregnant patients with stage 1 HTN is associated with a difference in birthweight percentile at delivery. Patients with stage 1 hypertension in pregnancy will be randomized to BP goals of <130/80mmHg or usual care to treatment only if BPs ≥140/90mmHg. For this pilot, the investigator will randomize a total of 74 eligible participants, 37 to active treatment to BP<130/80mmHg and 37 to usual care.

For the approximately one in five children with social, emotional, and behavioral (SEB) challenges, accessible evidence-based prevention practices (EBPPs) are critical. In the United States, schools are the primary service setting for children's SEB service delivery but EBPPs are rarely adopted or implemented by educators (e.g., teachers) with sufficient fidelity to see effects. Given that individual behavior change is ultimately required for successful implementation, focusing on individual-level processes holds promise as a parsimonious approach to enhance adoption. Beliefs and Attitudes for Successful Implementation in Schools for Teachers (BASIS-T) is a pragmatic, multifaceted pre-implementation strategy targeting volitional and motivational mechanisms of educators' behavior change to enhance implementation and student SEB outcomes. This study protocol describes a hybrid type 3 effectiveness-implementation trial designed to evaluate the main effects, mediators, and moderators of the BASIS-T implementation strategy in the context of Positive Greetings at the Door (PGD), a universal school-based EBPP previously demonstrated to reduce student disruptive behavior and increase academic engagement.

But there is limited research available to explain what trial attributes affect the completion of these specific demographic groups. This study will admit a wide range of data on the clinical research experience of borderline personality disorder patients to determine which factors prevail in limiting a patient's ability to join or finish a trial. It will also try to analyze data from the perspective of different demographic groups to check for recurring trends which might yield insights for the sake of future borderline personality disorder patients.

In this study, the investigators will assess whether implementing a self-swab protocol for primary Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) testing is an effective method to increase cervical cancer screening in a sample of unscreened women in Hawaii. The findings of this study may support adoption of HPV self swab protocols both at Kalihi Palama Health Center (KPHC) and other Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in Hawaii.

The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to assess the extent to which different modes of contacting parents who have not yet enabled to access to their children's medical records will result in greater proxy access. The main questions the study aims to answer are: - will outreach via text or patient portal message result in more parents having access than usual care (which is in-office suggestions to get access). - which mode - text or portal - will get more parents access. Participants will get a text message, or a portal message through their own patient portal, or no message. The investigators will check access to see which group has increased more during the study period.
